Very basic hotel, definitely 2 stars

I booked this hotel because it was convenient to a wedding I had to attend on the Aberdeen side of HK island. However, now looking back, I would have reconsidered staying at a hotel on the other side in Central, Admiralty or Wan Chai. The room was very basic and run down. It took several minutes to get an iron from housekeeping even after calling 2 times for it. I would not stay here again.

clean & big room and good breakfast
big room in quite area, many buses from the hotel to city and other places

reception gave me train map and bus timetables of the area while i arrived at the hotel. it is convenience to most place although the location is not good: like from hongkan to hotel by bus 107, and there are 3 buses(bus 7, 94 and 91) to shanghuan harbour piers.
room is big and clean.

comfortable hotel and in good location, close to bus service into hong kong proper for about 20 cents (australian).
Restaurant Tip:
Large numbers of restaurants within 1km of hotel, very moderate prices, many offered main meals for less than $Au 8.

simple, clean and strait forward service. helpful staff members.

free shuttle to downtown is much appreciated, otherwise there's a bus stop nearby which brings you to the Central in half an hour. Don't expect to find much night life around the area - it's rather quiet local neighborhood.
Staff speaks good english and can help arranging taxi, etc.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
you can get on a Hong Kong trail (if you are into hiking) which will bring you up tp the Peak

Location is close to some Tourist Attractions
Rooms are spacious, neat and tidy, and the room rate is reasonable in today's Hong Kong hotel rates.

Our stay in the Hotel was comfortable and satisfactory. Although the Hotel is in a more residential rather than commercial district, there is other tourists' attractions within the neighborhood easy enough for the visitors to get by. There are many bus routes for visitors to get to downtown.

feels a bit like a dormitory than a hotel but that's probably the style of many hong kong hotels, it just takes a bit of getting used to. staff were very professional, efficient and helpful. good level of english spoken. has a cafeteria instead of a restaurant but the breakfast isn't bad. good restaurant food is cheap and can be found everywhere so you won't want to eat at hotel anyway. room was a good size, nothing luxurious but adequate. there's so much to do and see in hong kong you don't need a great hotel just somewhere to lay your head. the hotel is in the south of the island but it's only a ten minute bus ride to causeway bay so once i relaised that i was happy witht the 'remote' location. overall this is a good hotel for people wanting to do lots of sightseeing with a basic hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If you're going to see the big buddha then go early to avoid huge lines
