Belonging to the best hostel group in the area

The City Guesthouse belongs to the Day and Night Hotel group, and actually I stayed in that hotel. I think that hostel group is the best one in the area, the staff is so kind, you feel welcomed, and the rooms are clean and in a good condition, the Wi-Fi is fast. To avoid wrong expectations and bad reviews, because this hostel group really deserves good reviews, you have to know that the rooms are very small, but that is absolutely normal in the Chungking Mansions and Mirador Mansions, and generally rooms are small in Kowloon, even in much more expensive hotels they are not much bigger. And if you follow these advises you will see that staying in the Chungking Mansions is not a problem, even if it looks very “special” on the first impression: There is a second entrance to the ground floor on the right of the main entrance, from there you’ve got easy access to the elevators of Block D and E and you can avoid the hawkers at the main entrance. If there are too many people waiting at the elevator to the 10th floor, you can take the other one, go to the 9th or 11th floor and use the staircase. If you want to go down and there are too many people waiting at the Block D elevator you can go through the hotel and leave it at the back door, then you can take the Block E elevator.

I left after seeing the room

I decided to stay at this hotel because I had a early flight. The hotel clerk had a really bad cough. She had to stop signing me in about 5 times in order to cough. It was clear that she was really sick. I nearly put on a mask in front of her. Been dreading the possibility of having caught something. The room was really small with a single person bed. The sheets had black lint on it suggesting that it hadn't been cleaned. The white towel had black patches on it as if someone had greasy palms had used it. Again, it didn't look like it had been washed. For these and other reasons, I decided stay at another place nearer the airport for triple the price. I did not bring this these problems to the attention of the hotel staff, because the person with me was so disgusted, she wanted to leave ASAP.

i picked this hotel because it suited my budget as a solo traveller and a transit passenger. the location is near mtr which is accessible from the airport. you can visit a lot of places since transportation is within walking distance. the staff is very friendly. the rooms are really small. but given the price, it is adequate.

Great management team First the managers were great very helpful the cleaning services was great overall security good and location for business people great close to all banks . Rooms are small but for the price it is very good most hotels in Hk are small anyway. Clean rooms with great day to day basic facilities where are bonus and convieniance
