I have booking at the E block, but I got the B block at level 6. It's a budget hotel for backpack. the hotel ad. with free wifi. but I have no wifi for 5 nights stays.

Not bad overall. Had a few comforts like free wifi, air con, fan and 15 inch lcd in room, with comfortable bed inside room, outside in corridor they had microwave, cold water, kettle for guest use.
The real downer was the tiny bathroom. only long enough for toilet and basin. I bump into sliding door every time I turn around. I am not obese. Really not useable. If was just 20 cm longer and wider, I would say the place was really good value for money. Since I cant even properly take a shower, I can't recommend it as a first choice. Pity- otherwise quite good. What I did for shower is go nearby for a massage- most will have facilities for showers, and timed it for around bedtime.

The good thing about Cynthia's as opposed to other guesthouses in the Chungking Mansion is that it's in Area E of the building. Each area has its own elevators which are quite small and I often saw long queues for elevators in the other areas, particularly A and B. Area E rarely had queues and the longest I had to wait was about three minutes.
It took a while to find at first, as the ground floor of the Mansions is quite confusing not to mention quite an unpleasant place to be lost in.
The room was very small and windowless, as I expected, but the guy who met me was very helpful and showed me everything I would need.
It's not a place you'll want to spend many waking hours but is perfect for someone who intends to be out all day.

I like, it was very clean, new and with good service. Owner have two hotels, one is new one, he says it is for foreigners, it's in another place but next to first hotel, and subway station. for students and couple travellers very good choice
