extremely convenient location for all modes of transportation and eateries close by; and not to forget about shopping districts close by

room we stayed in needs a paint job and some water leaking from the windows but it was typhoon signal 8 that night; TV reception was not good either and that's not related to the weather

I will recommend this hotel for its location and the staff are quite polite, helpful and have very good attitude.

Economical hotel in a great location if you are a businessman and need to be "on the Island." Close to major and minor business centers as well as many bars, restaurants and Wanchai's entertainment district. Breakfast buffet is not bad.

This is not a 5 star hotel, so if you stay at this hotel with the appropriate expectations, there really are no "cons." Be prepared though for long lines checking in and out. This is a popular hotel for tourists.

I have stayed at this hotel many times. I have found the staff to be very good considering they are dealing with people from all over the globe. The hotel seems to get business and large tourist crowds, most likely due to the reasonable rates and location. The hotel is close to the subway line and the China Travel office if you are looking to get a visa to go to China. The rooms may be a tad small, but they are clean, and the elevators require a key code, so there is little traffic from outside visitors into the hotel. If you are a business man on a budget, or someone wanting to see Hong Kong and not spend a fortune on a hotel, I really recommend staying at either this hotel in Wanchai or their other hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui in Kowloon, just across Victoria harbor.

Hotel Feature Tip : There is a lunch buffet that is also quite ok, but I must say after living and traveling in Asia for some time, the Empire Hotel has a great "Club" sandwich.

Rooms clean, relatively modern. Hotel staff friendly, helpful.

Corridors to go to the rooms look like rent-by-sq.ft. office spaces. Very strange feeling not conducive at all to a hotel atmosphere. Breakfast was basic hotel fare, expensive for what was offered. After one day I went out of the hotel for breakfast at cheaper rates.

This hotel is in the heart of the Wan Chai district. I am not one for "girlie" bars at every 50 feet where the "offerings" are served on the street curb. Metro access is via this route where there are bars open 24hrs. I was looking for price and the room was fine for the price but it was the neighborhood that was less appealing.I was warned by a waitress at a nearby restaurant to beware of these pickup joints where the "foreigner" pays twice the price for a regular drink.

Travel tip : Inspite of the hotel being centrally located and close to shopping areas, the easy access to the MTR line, value for your money, I would not return to this hotel because of its surroundings

The location easy to acess by public transport

Room is small, and i think should improve room cleanliness

I choose this hotel because of the review. The location of the hotel is good because it's close to public transportation. The room is small but one thing they should improve is cleanliness of the room cause i have itchy body after i check out. I think they don't clean the bed properly and must have bug inside it.

Very nice bed mattress (high quality), good room design, good staff service, spotless clean bathroom & bed and perfect city center location.

The swiming pool and fitness are a bit small and not fully equipped. The female staff are a bit less polite and welcome guess than the male staff.

I love this hotel especially its perfect city center location (Wan-chai). The male service staff are wonderful as they always be helpfull and smile to every guess. The bed is fabulous with high quality bed mattress and very comfortable. The shower room is a bit small but I find it okay since we do not need to use it 24/24. The LCD TV is so nice and the simple design and furniture make the room look tidy and neat. The cleanliness of the hotel is so good. I am very satisfied with my choice at this hotel. The hotel location is only 500m from MRT Wan-chai station (take exit B2, then turn left, passing 2 cross road along the Henessy road, then the hotel is on your right at the conner with Fenwick Road). You can take a 10-15min walk to the famous harbour font of Hongkong island - The HK Exhibition Center. There is a tram station just a few block behind the hotel which brings you around all Hongkong island.

Restaurant Tip : There are thousands of restaurants along and around the hotel. In the hotel, there is a fine dining Chiness restaurant at the basement which is one of popular one among office executive. You can enjoy various hongkong food selling in small restaurant along Henessy road or near by Fenwick rd. Many nice bars beside the hotel are those must try. You should try roasted goose, it is a specialty of HK. Try bird nest stewed in coconut at Shop 3 G/F, 2-6 Yee Wo street, Causeway bay just few blocks from the hotel. Very yummy only at HK$58!

Good service clean and great location.

porters are hard to find

Arrived at the hotel to find room not available at 2.30 but after one hour wait was upgraded to a suite. Staff was helpful and friendly but very few concierge staff on duty. Room spacious clean and quite modern and considering it was on a main road it was quiet. Use the H1 bus service from Kowloon station to

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you catch the train from the airport get off at Kowloon go downstairs and catch H1 bus to hotel . (free )

The location is excellent and is ideal for those who wish to be in the thick of downtown HKG.

No room service after 1130pm and no 24 hour coffee shop. Tiny bathrooms on 15th floor which is supposed to be an executive floor, NOT. The shower curtain needed to be replaced because it smelled. Internet charges were a rip off at minimum 145 HKG Dollars

I stayed here on business a couple of times some years ago and I remember the Empire to be a perfectly satisfactory short stay hotel. This time however I detected a tiredness about the place and was particularly irritated by the restricted room service and coffee shop hours. Luckily there is a well stocked seven eleven just across the road. Breakfast is adequate but expensive-better to get a sandwich outside and make tea/coffee in your room. If my room was anything to go by, the place needs a good spruce up. Overall though the hotel was just about OK but as a business traveller I would probably think twice about staying there again.

Nightlife Tip : Choose a nearby pub for a drink and economical meal as apposed to a night club

COnvenient location. Prety decent price, compared to the ridiculous prices and quality of the hotel industry in Hong Kong (size, facilities, etc.)

Needs more cleaning with both toilets and rooms!

I would rank the hotel at these part of Wanchai in the following order. Metropark Wanchai, Wharney Guandon Hotel and then Empire in terms of these 3 star hotels with similiar pricing. However, Empire hotel has some good eats downstairs!

Hotel Feature Tip : bring you own coffee and amneties. The only serve 2 packets of chinese tea if you like something to warm to drink in the room. Cost is low cost everything else is removed. SO think 2.5 - 3 star hotel

Close to transport, pool on the roof, lots of English TV channels

Smallish room, crappy shower. You have to pay for internet, which was extremely overpriced.

All good hotel, Nice clean and tidy room. The shower was a bit on the average side, very low on the wall, and hard to adjust the pressure. They don't have extra towels at the pool so you need to remember to bring your one from the pool. Very close to the train station so easy to get around, lots of food joints to eat. Internet was not included with room, very expensive add on.

Location is great! Wan Chai is very central to lots of shopping and places to eat. The staff are quite helpful and eager to please.

Rooms are out dated, decor needs a freshen up: carpets are damp, wallpaper is dirty etc. It's very noisy at evenings, hotel should double glaze windows. Too seedy, not for families.

This hotel is cheap and cheerful. Located in Wai Chai it's an ideal place to have a base, with loads of places to eat around with great transport options (train, tram & taxis), so it's an easy hop to loads of shopping areas. I was in HK with 2 others for a 30 hr layover so it was central, easy and cheap! We shared a standard room and the hotel added a pull out which was comfortable enough. However, it was very small and didn't look as well kept as the photos. The decor is in desperate need of updating and the carpet was damp. On the up, the staff were lovely and happy to help. Of an evening, the area becomes quite seedy , so this is certainly not recommended for families. This unfortunately translates into noisy evenings with street level noise that can be heard from the rooms. Ear plugs are advisable!

Nightlife Tip : Lots of bars around!

the location of the hotel is excellent. about 5 minute walk to the Wan Chai MTR station. Lots of food outlets around the vicinity.

The room is relatively small. No free WiFi in the hotel room.

The hotel is situated in the an excellent location and within 5 to 10 minutes taxi ride to Causeway Bay or Central. It is also within walking distance to the Wan Chai MTR station. There is a 7-Eleven just opposite the hotel. If you wish to access cheap Internet, you can go to 7-Eleven to purchase a daily WiFi access card from PCCW. It costs HKD 20 per day and you can use it in many areas including the Pacific Coffee Company just across the hotel.

strategic location for business traveler, the hotel is only 10 walks to the Hong Kong International Convention Centre, 10 minutes walk to Wancai MTR, 10 minutes walk to Admiralty Pacific Place. Also there are lots of restaurant, cafe around which offer delicious food. Hotel room is spacious than what I expected, and more importantly the bed is very comfortable.

The size of the bathroom is ok but we spotted water stains at the shower curtain.

In a nut shell, this hotel is definitely value for money looking at its location, facility and services provided. There are also free shuttle service provided to and fro from the Hong Kong Station. Convenient and hassle free experience. I will definitely choose this hotel again for my next visit to HK.

Travel tip : it will be very good if the hotel provide free internet connection.

Convenient location - close proximity to the HK convention center and all the business and shopping district. Pricing - one of the more reasonably priced hotels that I have stayed in HK.

The Hotel is run down even tho it was mentioned that it has gone thru refurbishment. Staff do try to accomodate the requests of the guests. Please bear in mind you get what you pay for! It's a tourist and business class hotel.

The hotel has great location with the sort of room rates they are charging which is fairly reasonable with the rates from Agoda. The only 2 items that I complaint are the hotel is run down even tho they claim it's been refurbished! The staff try to accomodate as much as they can but are still lost in certain aspect ie language. I would return to stay if I travel on my own but not with the family.

Travel tip : Make sure they give you a room facing the front!

Shower could be better.

small rooms

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Hotel wasn't great but it was enough. Good location. Many restaurants around. Free shuttle bus to Central station every 20 minutes. Gym, swimming pool :) I would recomment this hotel for anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced, basic but comfortable place to stay for a few nights.
