i had a room on the 4th floor and it wasn't noisy. the fixtures need updating and panels in the bathroom ceiling were hanging down. swimming pool was small but clean, although the sauna was cooler than the outside air temperature! this hotel has a great location, however, and is convenient for the dodgy nightlife if that's your thing.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Go to Cheung Chau island - it's charming and has good seafood, beaches, and walks around the headland.

The hotel is newly refurbished and boasts of clean rooms and excellent housekeeping. The plethora of dining choices in HK meant we gave the hotel restaurant a miss. Breakfast could be had at Honolulu Cafe that offers great egg tarts! It's diagnoally opp the hotel in the direction of the MTR exit. About 10 mins' walk. Warning - it's for locals so don't expect English menus or English-speaking wait staff. With the MTR a few mins away, getting to Causeway Bay or Central for shopping and dining is very convenient! Just a stop or two away. Or go for dim sum breakfast at Tung Yuen Restaurant. Nice, clean environment. Even the restrooms are well-kept. Overall, it's been a pleasant stay at Empire. Nothing too fancy and best part of it, complimentary shuttle bus to and from the airport if you plan to take the Airport Express train, which I recommend, esp for adults/young adults. Even my elderly parents were fine with it too.
Restaurant Tip:
Try this dim sum restaurant down the street along Hennessy Road. It's call Tong Yuen or Tung Yuen. Decent fare!Good for dum sum.

The staff is really friendly. They gave my wife. A surprise birthday cake on her birthday on that day. The hotel is located near the tram lines and is walking distance to the MTR station.
Shopping Tip:
Take the tram line to visit places on HK island. It is the cheapest mode of transport. The tram lines can take you Central (LAN Kwai Fong, 1FC) and Causeway Bay

great location but small room
good location, very convinience
6.3
The location of the hotel is strategic, only 10 minutes walk to mtr or wan chai. The room and the bathroom is clean although the bathroom is a little bit small. Overall, we enjoyed it.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
An unforgettable experience uniquely in Hong Kong! With signature restaurants with great view of the Victoria Harbour and plenty of casual dining options to choose from!
The Peak Tower is located at Victoria Gap and is directly connected to the city centre by The Peak Tram, which runs between the Peak and The Peak Tram Terminus on Garden Road, just a short stroll from the Central MTR station.

Located in the best part of town.
7.7
The Empire Hotel is nice, clean with a good friendly staff. The concierge was very helpful with directions. The best part is the great location to clubs, resturaunts, shopping and transportation. An easy walk to the MRT or Ferry Terminal. Short cab ride to Soho and Hollywood St. Hallways to rooms are not as nice as rooms.
Nightlife Tip:
Lots clubs with bands within a few blocks.

If you are looking for a quiet hotel, do not stay here, very noisy with all the pubs below.

Great Location at Wan Chai
Swimming pool is lovely, but the business hour is not very convenient. It is close at 7:00pm.

They were kind enough to change a room for me when I complianted abut the noise, but the sound proof in this hotel is not very good in general. In addition, their breakfast is too boring to bear every day. Other hotels have more options under less price.
I recommend this hotel for its great location near Wan Chai Subway and lots of options for food.

Central Location, secured and clean...
American style hotel with color and style
8.3
Beautiful room, secured elevator access, huge lobby. Helpful staff abound. Internet access is good using wired. Free use on second floor via wireless. Getting a cab during rush hour was a bit of a hassle as you have to walk out to the street.
Airport Express Bus W2 drops you off right in front so there's a huge convenience factor.
Restaurant Tip:
Ebeneezer's Kebab sandwhich for the late night munchie. Walk half a block towards MTR from hotel. Tasty delight that can be split among two.
