Rooms were relatively clean. very well situated among local eating outlets. Concierge service was good.

Lady service staff at registration was quick but not very courteous. Cigarette smell can be felt in the room although the whole floor was supposed to be non-smoking.

Good value for money stay in a centrally located area with lots of eating places. Generally the service is good and the concierge is helpful in offering information on where to go and how to go to places. The security is good as the lifts are operated by room access card keys. Generally, suitable for families who are budget conscious.

Easy access to public transport and close to Central part of the island as well as local markets.

Rooms very small, bathroom tight. Cigarette smell even on non smoking floors.

Price was cheap and you get what you pay for. We needed two rooms for a family which is why this was a cheaper option. Beds were made every day and bathroom cleaned. Tea and coffee were weak. Facilities like pool and restaurants were good. Location was really good and if you are out all day and just need a bed for the night it is a good option.

Shopping Tip : WanChai markets so close and everything you may need is close at hand including transport.

The hotel staff is helpful and friendly. When you walk out the door you are in the heart of the action that is Wan Chai.

The TV is small and there are only sports and news channels. The rooms vary widely in quality so make sure to ask for a recently refurbished one.

This is a good inexpensive hotel in the heart of Wan Chai. The action is just out the doors... great clubs, bars, inexpensive and incredible restaurants. Just walking around the block is fun. And the women ... well for single gus this is a great place to be. Everything you could want in one inexpensive hotel.

Restaurant Tip : Try Yixin Chinese Restaurant around the corner. May Wong the owner is great and the food is one of the best I had anywhere in China!

a) Convenient Location b) Helpful technical staff

a) Unfriendly Front line staff b) TV c) Small room

Our stay at Empire Wan Chai was bad from day 1. They gave us a room and when we went to the first room, the room light is spoilt and the entire room looks dim. Bathroom has a strong smell. We requested to change the room and the staff was quick to move us to another nearby room. We were watching TV on the first night and after a while the TV just went on and off by itself and the screen was fuzzy. As it was too late to call the front desk, we decided to go to sleep instead. On the 2nd day morning, we on the TV again. TV was on for awhile and the same problem occurred. We called the hotel staff and it took a while before one lady staff (came to our room. As she is not a technical staff, she couldn’t figured what was the problem. She did not appear very friendly as well. In the end, she said she needed to call the technical staff. We waited for awhile but the technical staff didn’t arrive and we decided to go out instead of keep on waiting. When we came back in the night, the on and off TV problem started again. As it was too late in the night, we didn’t call front desk. The 3rd night, we went back to the hotel early and while we were watching the TV, the on and off problem started again and this got us very frustrated. We called the front desk and they sent a female staff to our room. The lady staff saw the problem and called another staff and she was very friendly and helpful. Her superior came to the room and started switching channels and turn around to tell us that the TV is working perfectly fine. He kept insisting that the TV is ok and he was very RUDE when he told us. We tried to explain and we got so fed up and told him that his staff also saw what happened. We have to repeat numerous times before he decided to solve the problem. He then reluctantly called the technician. The technician came, checked and fix the problem. We were enjoying the show and the problem started again. The technician was called again and he tried to change the set but the problem s

Location and Staff

Emergency Exits! Need to upgrade bathrooms.

Best features of the hotel? I'd have to say the location of the hotel. The subway was also right down the street. As well as restaurants and bars/clubs. Selling point? Location and the Staff was awesome. Staff was very helpfull. Only con was during a fire alarm, my friends and I took the stairs to get out of the hotel. Come to find out that the stair ways were blocked with chairs and tables. There were no signs leading to an exit so we just kicked a door open and ended up in a back alley somewhere. Other than that, I would stay here again.

location is very convenience.

shower bath is small.

As we have the intention to visit Hofex fair which show at HK exhibition and convention center. The Empire hotel's price is reasonable and very convenience to go there by walking. Also it is convenience to go to other place to by tram, or by MRT wanchai station, and go to ferry and airport. there are so many restaurant also.

Restaurant Tip : Hai tien lo Restaurant is very good in Dimsum and chinese restaurant. From here you can walk to see fresh market around 15 minutes. We bought Salted chicken and barbecued pork back home.

Location close to shopping centre and Sangrila hotel

Chekin time too complicated

The location of the hotel is good, close to Sangrila hotel and causay bay. Easy to find taxi or public bus. Sorrounding the hotel are many chinese restaurant and traditional market. Consierge very helpfull, submit all information we need and charming. When, I checkin on May,02,2009 I was shocked because Metro park hotel was grounded by the police due to the swine flu. The hotel staff don't give us any simpathy how to pass this situation. I feel very unsecure and could not sleep.

Great Location, cozy Hotel, Friendly Staff

Needs better service during peak times, needs more food outlets, needs Bathroom weighing scales in each room

I was not present at the hotel for a long time as I was visiting the convention center. During rush hours, the service needs to be better and more efficient.

Travel tip : A very good traditional breakfast place is located across the road from the hotel. A superb wholesome noodleshop (if u're into that)

Bed was comfortable.

Unfortunately we found the bathroom of a poor standard.

The staff are very pleasant, friendly and helpful, all of which we found with good manners, especially the doormen. Generally the checking in process was satisfactory however, unfortunately the checking out was very slow with insufficient staff to cater for inward and outward customers at the same time, possibly two separate stations (clearly marked) for this processing, may improve the situation. In general we found the room satisfactory especially the comfortable bed, unfortunately the room was far to noisy as we faced the main road thus we had little sleep the whole night (we did ask for a quiet room on arrival). The bathroom we felt could be improved especially the very low shower head position (only for children). We felt that the general cleanliness levels were below standard in the bathroom and in need of improvement along with the toilet system, which we had to keep on flushing until some action occurred.
