location to public transport, free shuttle service to Central station for airport express train, shops and more shops the minute you step out and safe environment
A bit tired, was told hotel rooms were going to be refurbished but obviously not completed.
The Excelsior being part of the Mandarin Oriental group has consistency with their service and standard of hotel accommodation. A good, solid 4 star hotel located in central location close to all amenities. Not the newest or flashest in town, but if you like reliability in your hotel, go for the Excelsior! We love being in Causeway Bay which is a bit less touristy yet still has also the shops offered in Tsimshatsui and you get to mix it with the locals.
Travel tip : try the portugese tarts down at the Cafe - terrriby morrish!

The Staff . Prompt, Courteous and unobtrusive
Location. to Transportation etc
This hotel needs
a Library or a lounge ( which actually serves as a guest lounge)
To be a true hotel , an area must be set aside which has an ambient atmosphere incl. views/vista
where a guest may spend some time in a relaxed atmosphere.
It needs a swimming pool.
Arriving at the reception centre at aprox. 7am in the morning I was pleasantly surprised to be given a choice of two rooms.
One with single beds and one with double beds.
The twin bedded room was available immediately the other required an hour wait. After a 9 hour flight with a 2 hour departure delay I chose the former.
Room pleasant over looking Royal HK Yatch Club & Causeway bay with Kowloon in the background
giving an ever changing vista of life & activity
Express food outlet a godsend at the beginning of a busy day & on more then one occasions finished the day with a drink at Totts.
All in all the hotel served my requirements well.
Hotel Feature Tip : To cross the road to get to harbour Leave front of hotel . turn left pass world trade centre & turn left into alleyway Open Door to lane way & follow tunnel under road to harbourside.
Saves a lot of walking & stairs. Come out next to NOONDAY Gun .

The location was good for me (us). I knew the hotel because of my previous visits
A bit old but clean. Bath rooms would need some renovation
I selected this hotel because I knew it from my earlier visits. Originally the hotel was recommended by a local Hong Kong business man. The restaurant services were good, enjoyed the basement pub several times. The concierge service was friendly and helpful and polite. I have already recommended this hotel to two of my friends who are planning to visit Hong Kong. I enjoyed my stay!
