The atmosphere in the traditional Parisian-style brasserie setting is created by brass fittings, beveled mirrors and leather banquettes. The menu features traditional home cooking, accompanied by an extensive selection of wine. La Brasserie provides a pleasant and unpretentious atmosphere for romantic dining and business entertainment.
For busy executives, the restaurant offers Pierre's Luncheon, handwritten in true bistro style on a handsome beveled mirror. Changing daily, it offers a choice of appetizers, main courses plus a glass of wine, followed by dessert and coffee or tea. Pierre's Luncheon is available from Monday to Saturday. Great location in Hong Kong Quite old hotel. Rooms are old. Great location in Hong Kong. I like this hotel because it located in the Tsim Sha Tsui. The location is perfect. It is very close to shopping centers. Near ferry. But rooms are old and should renovate. The hotel is quite old. Staffs are well trained. Excellent services. Standard of room is good. I would recommend this hotel.

I use this hotel almost exclusively for all my trips to Hongkong. The main reason it it lies right smack in the middle of Tsimtsatsui's shopping zone and within striking distance to the fast ferry terminal for adjoining islands and Macau. I have used the Marco Polo Gateway Hotel for the past 10 or 15 years. It is constantly maintained, the staff well trained to handle all my needs and the rooms are bigger than the new hotels. Throughout the years I have convinced many of my business associates and friends to switch to this hotel and I see that they keep going back too. A suggestion worth considering is for the hotel to change the carpets of the rooms as some rooms do have a irritating smell. And for the hotel to remove all smoking floors. As I have mentioned above. The Marco Polo Gateway is my preferred hotel mainly because of location. It is near to everything. Shops, Ferry Terminal, Science Center and food courts. The past 10 to 15 years have proven the hotels commitment to service,clean and spacious room accomodations and an efficient, courteous, and knowledgeable staff. I recommend this hotel to your subcribers.
Shopping Tip : For quick access to Harbour City Shops exit on the second floor elevator stop.

We used to frequent this hotel a lot because of the location (5 mins brisk walk to TST MTR). Rooms used to be a lot bigger too. But the hotel's really looking old and tired thesedays.
Firstly - we got to the hotel at 130pm. The receptionist told us that he could upgrade us to a deluxe room if we were to wait around till 330pm to check in. Since we weren't particularly in a rush, we said ok, freshened up in their common toilet and went off to shop. Came back to the hotel at 9pm and what we got was definitely NOT the deluxe room having stayed there so many times (If it was, there was nothing deluxe about it at all). It would have been an ok room to stay in (no gripes at all) if we checked into the room we were originally scheduled to stay in (without a time lag), but not if we were promised otherwise. We suspect there never was a deluxe room - they just couldn't get their rooms ready in time for the 2pm check in.
Secondly, it is the first time I noticed this but they actually had door knob signs (you know those which say "Please Make Up Room") which say "For Repairs". I.e. they must have had such a huge incidence of things breaking down in the rooms that they had to custom make these signs... surely these say something?
I used to love Marco Polo and am really disappointed this time round. We might just pop over to Langham instead the next time we are back in HK. It really got to me because it used to be one of my favourite hotels.
