Great location, great service, but old amenities
Friendly service, nice lobby, great location, ice cold A/C, good size rooms, very clean.

The room rate was not cheap but it is not bad for a hotel in TST HK. Nonetheless, I would expect a little more modernized room for what I paid for. Everything else in the hotel is great other than their 1980 style decors and furnishings!!

Hotel is in a great location! Very close to restaurants and shopping malls make this hotel perfect for both tourists and business people.

Great Location and Comfortable stay

The hotel location was great close to all shops restaurants and MTR. The room is not too small compare to most hongkong hotels. Eventhough the hotel decoration itself quite old fashion but the bed and mattress are very comfortable also bathroom water works very well (good pressure) so very nice shower. You also can have free access to internet by bring your own laptop and apply for Club member. But the room rate for this hotel quite high.

Ecellent Location and Great Service at all stages
Location within the harbourside shopping mall. Excellent Service from all staff. Continental Lounge very good

From check in to check out we were treated as honoured guests. I cannot compliment all staffs service ethic enough. It was first class.
The continental Lounge was excellent and was worth the extra we paid.
Concierge was knowlegable and always helpfull.
The bathroom was large but a bit tired an in need of a revamp but was acceptable. The bed was probably a bit hard.
Its location was excellent. Close to ferry and railway stations. We would definately stay their again when we return to Hong Kong.
Shopping Tip:
This is the right hotel to stay in if you want shopping.
A trip to the artists market in Shenzen across the border is worthwhile

Expensive but Tired Hotel in a Great Location

For the rate we paid, we expected a better room.
The first room we were assigned to had a musty smell. Smell was better in the second room they moved us to. But the carpet & furnishings were the same, old-fashioned and looked like they've been used for 10yrs. The bathroom needs renovation soon as the tiles were so old and stained with mildew. TV is still the cathode ray kind.
On the positive note, our room is a comfortable size. Bedding is nice and soft. WiFi is complimentary.
I would not stay again unless there has been a renovation.

Birthday at the Gateway

as always, the Marco Polo Gateway Hotel is my hotel of choice, if not for the location it is in... it is smack right in the middle of Harbour City in Kowloon... it has direct access to all shopping areas, both in and around Tsim Sha Tsui and it is very convenient considering its short walk, both from the nearest MTR to the Star Ferry Terminal... it is also right beside the Kowloon Ferry Terminal... The hotel needs a major facelift though.. from the rooms to the carpets along the hallways... and as always, Gateway has been very gracious to me as a frequent customer... i appreciate it that they have my details already on their database... and best of all, i celebrated my birthday with them... i was quite delighted to find a birthday cake, compliments of the hotel, when i came back to my room on my birthday... i really appreciate it... Thank you so much!
Restaurant Tip:
have your lunch or dinner at the Crystal Jade La Mian Restaurant or at the Din Tai Fung...

nice place, ok for family trip and very convenient in shopping, breakfast is good,we appreciate the kindness of the whole staff, very accomodating. we will choose the same hotel when we get back

Marcopolo Gateway
Good location and closed to many good restaurants

The hotel is located in a very good location which is closed to Ocean Terminal. Many good restaurants are around the hotel and the subway is around 10 mins walking from the hotel.
But the price is too expensive and in the morning there are some noisy and construcion around the hotel.

If you love shopping, Marco Polo Gateway is a good
Very good location, nice staff

Located in Harbour city, Marco Polo Gateway is always my favorite choice as it's very convenient to go shopping. The price may be quite high comparing to the quality of the room. Food is quite nice here.
