Great Rooms for its Price
big rooms, great hotel rate, near transportations and mtr
6.7
the hotel is modern with fairly large rooms (i would say, really a bargain for its asking rate).the rooms is divided between the sleeping area and the living area with the kitchenette. we were roomed at the 18th floor as per our request to be checked in at the higher floors.
the hotel is far from the popular tourist attractions like disney, ocean park, victoria peak or where normal shopping areas are. the lrt right across the hotel makes for a convenient access though. it usually takes about 45mins to reach a central destination, say, admiralty station or central station or tsim sha tsui. and the walks within the underground terminals are fairly lengthy. so if you dont mind the time it takes to travel or the walks you will need to make, the cost of the travel through the mrt more that makes up for the distance as the rate of the hotel is really a bargain. besides, for me and for my kids, the transportation was just another part of the adventure in this vacation. (travellers with smaller kids would probably find it more difficult to commute though.
one cons, though: because of the length of the travel time, if you are constantly in a hurry or hate to travel through the mrt, then this hotel is not for you.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The hotel area and its community is by no means tsim Sha Tsui ( I say this because the previous vacations I've had here we were always booked around TST.)However, the area is in itself a self sustaining community with its own feature malls and modes of transportaion. The Hotel is fully capable of serving travellers including shuttle bus service that can take you to TST or the airport. It has complete facilities such as dining halls and pools and gyms.Should you require other services, say an inquiry as to a Catholic Church for Sunday Service, the front desk will only be too happy to assist you.

Good for a group of travellers
7.7
The hotel is not at city center in hong kong but we have chosen this hotel because it offers good price during the christmas peak period which is important for a group of 20 people. Staff were nice.

We stayed at this hotel with a group of family members (20 ppl), this is a good choice for budget family trip because the hotel price in HONG KONG can be extremely high during christmas period. We booked this hotel 3 months in advance with a good price but if you book late the price could be up. We all think this hotel is value for money with clean room provided, good facilities and service. would surely book it again if there is another family trip to hong kong.

It's far from the main city. But i f you want serenity, this is the best place in Hongkong after sightseeing and from the busy city. If I will visit Hongkong again, I will consider this hotel again... Nice service...

Clean and Polite Staff
Big and clean rooms with a good location, right next to LRT, very convenient..

The hotel is just what we expected. Its rooms are bigger and clean.. Hotel staff are also polite and accommodating. Convenient to access certain locations since its right beside the LRT station but quite far from the shopping districts of hongkong.. It would be better though if they can provide room service and free wifi.

Good connectivity but far from most turist spots
Room Size, City connectivity, Microwave in the room
6
We spent 5 nights in Harbour Plaza Resort City during third week of December'11. The overall check-in process was smooth, and we were given room at 23rd floor having view of Tin Shui Wai park. The room size is good, but hotel has more of a service apartment feeling compare to a 4* hotel feel.
Cooking: The kitchenette in the room is charged 180 HKD per day, which we felt was very high; However, microwave is free and hence very convenient if you want to reheat or want to make some food (Hotel doesn't provide any utensils\plates etc, so you need to procure the same from outside)
Breakfast: Breakfast varieties includes typical American breakfast, some south Asian dishes(sea food). Indian dishes are available only if any big Indian group is visiting the hotel(We were not part of any group). During out stay, the breakfast menu remained same everyday, and hence found it bit boring after 1\2 days.
Lunch\Dinner: Hotel doesn't have any Indian vegetarian option in their restaurant, neither the adjacent places have it. Heard that Indian food is available in 'Yuen Long' area, but we didn't explore that option as we were looking something within walking distance from hotel.
Location: Most of the tourist places like Disney, Ocean Park, Neong ping 360, Peak Tram, Kowloon Island, Hongkong Island etc are pretty far from the hotel. While hotel has very good connectivity via LTR->MTR or Public Buses, but everyday spending close to 2/2.5 hours and 50/60 HKD per person day just on travel doesn't make this place as a convenient place for tourists traveling for short duration like 4/5 days(Most days we were very tired mainly due to traveling). If you are planning for few weeks travel, then the hotel is a good value for money.
Wifi: No wifi in the room. In lobby free wifi is provided, but they change the password everyday. Also the lobby doesn't have any comfortable seating (except you use their coffee\cake shop)
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Ocean Park Connection: Take public bus number 967(bus stop opposite to tower-2) for Admiralty(Hongkong Iland) and then just their itself get city bus number 629 (dedicated ocean park service). Best and Fastest way to travel.
Public Bus: Ask at the reception for the list of public buses providing access to the hotel. Prefer taking bus from the bus stand opposite to Tower-2 instead of taking from the Tin Shui Wai bus stand(next to Tower-1), it will save at least 10/15 minutes because buses leaving bus stand first covers different partks of Tin Shui Wai before taking expressway to Kowloon\HK.
Bus over MTR\LTR: We felt direct bus service to Kowloon\HK was better and faster way compare to LTR\MTR. Public bus will take directly to destination, you are sure to get the seat and no walking for any interchange (All these can not be avoided with LTR\MTR connection). Prefer checking with reception still, they are helpful.

Well equiped, nice rooms, value for money
Nice surrounding, next to shopping mall and Hong Kong Wetland Park
8
the hotel offers good value for money. rooms are clean and equipped with everything you need as a family with small children. this includes a water cooker, a microwave oven and a refrigerator. the staff was nice and helful. the hotel is around 45 minutes from the city center, but is located near the mtr station and offers a convenient shuttle service to the center and the airport. right behind the hotel, there is a large public park where children can play.
internet is expensive (hkd per 24 hours), but if you have a drink at the coffee shop in the reception, you will get free wifi access.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Hong Kong Wetland Park, around 10 minutes by taxi or light railway is a great way to spend a relaxing and interesting day, especially also for families with children. A shopping mall right next to the hotel offers a wide variety of shopps and restaurants.
