Island Pacific hotel in Hong Kong

Hotel room is clean, and staff is friendly. The main problem is it is too far from the town area and the MTR station, need to take bus or tram to reach the MTR station. If you don't mind staying further from the town, it is a good hotel to stay in.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Tram is the most convenient and cheap transport to take from this hotel to other area.

It is not near to MTR but still in an approchable distance by a short cab ride. Moreover, it is not in the fancy environment but has nice seaview or buiding view. Room is relatively clean and cozy. Like some other hotels in HK it is not possible to set the own room temparature and it is a bit too cold for average Asian people.

have always found IP hotel a rather nice and roomy hotel. havent been there for 2 years and it is good to return to this hotel. good access to the ferry terminal and the bus stop where you can go to causeway bay rather quickly. but the beds and bathroom kinda old, they should renovate this nice hotel.

take the 5B bus to CWB, takes around 20 min to reach there.

Good location with perfect view over Victoria Harbour. Staff excellent with good English language and very helpful. Rooms small but big enough, very clean, flat screen TV, mini bar etc.
Easy walk to Macau ferry or half an hour to Star Ferry. Interesting to walk and see the shops. Eating out can be inexpensive or the opposite and hygene practices are evident in all good cafes and other eating establishments. Buses, taxis, trams, ferries, MRT all great ways to get around.

The Island Pacific is a modern building and an excellent hotel - we found it by reading the reviews and it exceeded our expectations. It is well located and we found it easy enough to walk to most places but also used taxi and tram to get to and from hotel. Would we stay there again, definitely. We are both well travelled people and have spent many nights in hotels around the world, this one is a 3.5 star and worth the dollars.
Restaurant Tip:
Local dinning can be found around the corner but if you seek western cuisine you need to go up market and to central Hong Kong

this is a fabulous hotel with wonderful service. Their location is more than perfect. The rates are very reasonable. The food in the restaurant is terrific. On the whole, Island Pacific is dream come true for a family with moderate finances.
Restaurant Tip:
here is a great little Indian place called, "curry King". The food is very good and the staff very friendly.

Good Hotel for a short Stay
Clean, small boutique hotel with all ammenities - restaurant, bar etc.
High level of security.
Good hospitality as the housekeeping dept attuned to providing any toilletries forgotten at home.
Good concierge service for providing directions and general info on Hong Kong.

I would recommend this hotel if it is for a short business visit. It is located quite far from Central or Wanchai which makes it somewhat isolated or, dependent on taxis. It is located in a part of Hong Kong that speacilises in smoked and salted fish trade which allows visitors with the opportunity to see a different face of Hong Kong.
Shopping Tip:
Close to several 7 Elevens and fast food chains like Mcdonalds, all literally within 50 meters of the hotel.

Once again my stay at the Island Pacific hotel was not a disappointment!!! I travel to Hong Kong 3-4 times per year for work and this is the ONLY place I stay!! They consistently over achieve my expectations with EXCELLENT SERVICE (from the front desk to the housekeepers) and QUALITY of the rooms!! My partial city/harbor view is always GREAT. There's nothing like getting up and opening the blinds of the windows and seeing the boats and ferries moving thru the channel between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. Absolutely breath taking!! You will be missing out on one of the best kept secrets if you don't stay at the Island Pacific. Unless you want to be in the shopping area. As far as nightlife, it is a short 5-10 minute ride apprx: $30hkd or $4usd cab fare to Wan Chai (Lockhart rd.) where all the bars are located!!
Restaurant Tip:
Many local HK restaurants and butcher shops for a quick bite less than 1 minute walk from hotel. The BBQ pork at the butcher shop just up the street on the corner is FANTASTIC !! If you are craving that Big Mac there is a Mc.D's just up the street maybe 5 minute walk.

Close to a lot of tourist area, $5-10 US for taxi cab (very convenient), or the other transportation is affordable and reliable. Staff helpful for giving directions.

Stayed 7 days, convenient location to US personnel from military. The front desk are courteous enough, housekeeping did not bring or leave us the towel we requested twice but took our tips each time. We have to call the front desk finally talk to the Manager then we get better service after that. Its in the central (sorrounded by rundown properties) we have a harbor view but if you look in one side your looking at clothes hanged outside to dry in every balcony, kind of ghetto neighborhood. Food ok, too many process meat. If youre not picky, better than most hotel at this price.
