Great room, spacious, excellent amenities, concierge is very friendly and helpful, good gym and pool

Great room with beautiful view facing the harbor. The location isn't bad- tram can take you to Central and it's cheap. The rooms are spacious, the amenities are excellent. Reception desk people are ok but the people at concierge are very friendly and helpful, They have good gym and pool. The only complaint is that the internet is too expensive.

the staffs are nice and with happy face all the time. they do everything in details. they even provide free taxi service for us as the hotel shuttle bus went down. the room is clean and with harbour view. best value for money.

Still a great little hotel

We had a cancelled flight into HK, were rerouted and missed the last ferry to Shekou. So this hotel is very handy to the ferry terminal especially if you need to get to and from mainland China. We didn't get the royal treatment we got the last time we stayed. Maybe it was too late at night. Did not eat here though. Far too expensive. (Had to select something below for food/dining even though we didn't eat here)

The only way to this hotel was by Taxi. I came in from Shenzen by the MTR (Underground) and got off at Central. No Taxi was willing to take me to the hotel. I had to pay HK$100 to get one to agree. The hotel is ok, polite staff.... a bit reserved, smallish lobby and tiny rooms. The Breakfast and dinner buffets were reasonably good.
Tried walking around ..... the area on the indise streets looked rundown and gloomy. No attractive looking restaraunts in the vicinity. No shopping either.

my overall review of the Island Pacific Hotel is that it was pleasant, although I have to wait for a room since I arrive at the hotel early than the check in time. The room is clean and tidy. It smells good. The hotel is in to environmental awareness which i think every should be concern. I have a nice stay at Island Pacific Hotel and would like to come back again in the future.

Island Pacific Hotel
The hotel is located on the western side of Hong Kong on the well know 'dried fish street',where the trams run, and an easy walk from Hollywood Road antiques shops. The hotel does provide a free minibus service to central which operates on a timetable of apporx 30 minute intervals at peak times.

The hotel is clean and fairly attractive. There is a small bar in which you can order meals otherwise there is only a buffet option for dinner and lunchtimes. Breakfast is also only buffet and approximately HK$140 and apart from McDonalds there is no other place local to have breakfast. The hotel rooms are small and compact. There is not much of a harbour view, which seems to be their selling point, unless you book the significantly more expensive harbour view rooms. The nearest metro station, Shung Wan, is a 20 minutes walk so it is easier to catch the tram to central though this can be time consuming. The hotel has an outdoor pool which is a welcome activity after a hot and sticky day in Homg Kong. The pool staff could make better effort to keep it clean, i found 'band aids' floating in it twice.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Hollywood Road with antiques and an the Man Moh temple are within walking distance. It is possible to walk up to the mid levels from Hollywood Road.

Old Hotel, but good services

Basically the hotel is fair, the location is quite convenient, it takes a few minutes walk from the Macau Ferry Terminal (Shun Tak Center), so we can keep the lugguge there and pick them up before returning to Macau. Staff are quite nice and informative for enquiries.
However, the hardwares needs to be replaced, both exterior and interior are too old fashioned, room is small and old. The towels are broken and light grey in color,TV is old, pillows are not comfortable, the worst is the noisy air-con, it takes me sometime to fall asleep because of the big noise by the air-con. That should be replaced immediately...
Hotel Feature Tip:
Very easy to find as it has a big light board/banner on the main road.

Really nice Hotel - Definitely recommend!
Clean, very comfy bed!, nice location in HK Island, good quality for price, nice view from the room (for Harbour view's room)and nice staff.

Room was very clean but has a smoking smell. When asked, was reverted with the fact that the only harbour view room still available was on the smoking floor... not too bad though. What was a really nice surprise was the very comfy bed! Eventhough the location could have been better (like more restaurants around...) the location in HK Island is not too bad. The small tram can bring you to the Subway station. Moreover, staff are nice and very helpful. Overall, Island Pacific Hotel is a really good bargain!
Restaurant Tip:
Miso Hong-kong restaurant in Jardine House (Basement). Very fresh and good price for sashimi and sushi. (Especially the set)

Hotel though rated 4-star but below 4-star standard. Room size is small and furnishings run down. The small TV is installed within the wardrobe which is right next to one of the twin bed. Pro is there are wholesalers for dry food stuff on scallop, abalone at good price.
Restaurant Tip:
Close proximity to nice dessert stalls Honeymoon and Yuen Kee which are highly recommended in HK foodie magazine. Also have a decent nice chinese seafood cum dim sum restaurant - Meng Seng one street opposite to hotel.
