Happy week in Hongkong
Good Location and connection to transport system.

Had a good one week stay at the hotel.Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is excellent as it is only about a 2 km drive to Hongkong Station which connects you by train in 30 min.to the airport or the tram that gets you easily to the closest MTR station. Enjoyed my view of the harbour.
Travel tip:
Very impressed with easy check-in at HongKong Station. Was at the airport 40 minutes after hotel check out.

Overall it was a great stay. We originally payed for a city view and on arrival got bumped up to the Harbor view. There are a large amount of non smoking floors, which actually didn't smell anything like smoke. The room itself was more than adequate, but the bathroom was poorly laid out when it comes to the door placement. The location is also a plus. Great spot to catch a cab right outside the doors and only a short walk to the MTR.

" water works " projects in the neighbourhood, including outside the front door. Not fresh water works ....unpleasant smell. Scheduled completion date in June. Obviously outside to the hotel's control (pun intended). I never caught wind of any problem inside the hotel. Excellent sun exposure pool-side. Room was clean and well maintained. The staff was very helpful. The rooms were of a good size and there was no problem with cleanliness. The house keeping even folded a couple of pieces of clothes that were in the corner with out being asked (very nice touch). I will stay there again on my next visit to HK. I highly recommend to everyone.

The bellboys of the hotel are extremely friendly and courtious.
I took the Sino-group bus from the airport to the hotel which is 140 Hk dollar for one way.
It takes about 20 to 25 minutes to walk from the hotel to the star ferry but you can also take a taxi which will not cost you more than 20 hong kong dollar.
The hotel itself is in the middle of the shops that sell all kinds of dried seafood which make it a very interesting neighbourhood.
Overall i liked this hotel very much and will stay there again the next time i am in Hong kong
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Just stroll around in the neighbouring streets in the evening it is safe and offers some nice views into the lives of the people in Hong kong.

The staff was very nice, we extended our stay by three nights due to our HK apartment not being ready for rent, and we were able to check in for the night the morning of. We were advised to book our nights at the hotel through AGODA which gave a better rate as opposed to just through the hotel. The cleaning staff (least I think it was) came into our LOCKED room around 530 pm AFTER they have cleaned our room while my fiance and I were taking a nap. Reason: unknown..? But other than that, they let us use the pool after we had checked out. Pool Lifeguard/staff was really creepy and liked to stare. The outdoor pool was nice, temperature was too cold though. Gym was small but manageable. Internet prices wireless to room was way overpriced.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Double-decker trolly goes right by the hotel and straight into "downtown" areas: Central, Causeway bay. Its a little slow, but you get a great view from up top and it only costs $2HKD which is about 40 cents CAD

Island Pacific Hotel
The guys on the Concierge desk were terrific. Young, but professional and efficient.

The position of the hotel is good. Most places easily accesible by bus or taxi. Concierge desk were very helpful with all kinds of information and arranged a visa for China in 24 Hrs.
Arrived at 8:30pm, were not informed at check in that the restaurant closed at 9:30pm so had to go out and find a place to eat when we were quite tired.
If we had been staying longer we would have found another hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island is well worth the visit and is adjacent to the Big Buddah. A cable car ride takes you there with spectacular views.
Also the fenicular railway takes you up to Hong Kong Peak with fantastic views over Hong Kong and the New Territories.

Location-Near the MTR-just 10 minutes walk. you can also take a tram or bus to the MTR staion which contacts you to virtually every where in Hong Kong

Its a good hotel in a good location. At first hand it seems to be far from the center but its near to the MTR station and from here everything is ur reach. TIP: by an octopus card.
The rooms are clean and the service is good.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The Macau ferry terminal is just 10 minutes walk. I would suggest to go there for a day or two and you will surely forget Vegas!

The place is a value for money considering it is in Hongkong island. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only drawback is that MTR which is one of the best way to go around in Hong Kong is slightly far away. However the bus stops close by can take you there so ask the hotel staff for which bus to take. The rooms are slightly smaller that you would want but everything is comfortable.

The standard rooms are realtively small and you wish you had larger rooms. Although front desk was helpful enough to give us one of the better rooms on the top floor when we asked for the highest floor when checking-in which we really enjoyed. The hotel is slightly away from MTR station which is one of the best way to commute in HongKong. However, good bus connections are available to MTR and can be checked with the conceirge
