Despite the long distance to the metro, it is still a very nice hotel with great sea view. Meanwhile, it also provides free shuttle bus to the exposition and will be very convenient for us. The staffs are really frendly and I do believe if I will visit Hongkong again, I will choose Island Pacific Hotel again.

The hotel is great value for HK but I'm sure that there are better for a little bit more. The rooms are ok but we had superior so I'd reckon on standard being very small. Location is real HK, yes but is not on the MTR and there's nothing else, not even a cafe in the area.

My first stay in Island Pacific Hotel
the room were always clean & nice.

The hotel is ok, it is not so far with the transportation access. The room I have stayed with is clean and nice. The people were also ok. I just wish they will have more nice packages for travelers. The room amenities is fine, it has the basic necessary things the traveler needs. I just wish wifi access is free of charge or at least 1 or 2 hours free use of it for staying guests.

Hotel is located on HK Island Sheung wan district in walking distance from a Tram Stop. It was very easy to get the MTR station by Train or Taxi.Seven eleveen shop open 24 hours is very close too.Chinese bar /very cheap price/ is near too.Hotel staff speaking english was very helpful.Rooms were clean and enough comfortable fitted with your own safe ,iron and iron board, coffee maker,

This hotel is a rare occurence: it's a well-run four-star business hotel in the heart of Hong Kong (HK island side) that doesn't break the bank. I was lucky enough to find a very good deal on Agoda for a "City view" room and got upgraded to a Harbour view room for free. Needless to say I liked the experience. One word about the location: I was a bit worried to be far from Central based on previous reviews. No worries: there may not be a MTR station nearby, but a taxi to the Airport express station sets you back a mere 30 HKD and the Hong Kong tram runs close nearby and provides for a convenient and very cheap transport all over Hong Kong island.

The rooms were spacious and modern. there is even an ipod dock! the view of the skyline was lovely although it was surrounded by old buildings.

The surrounding neighbourhood is typical old hongkong with alot of character.
The walk to the MTR is 10min and not too far, although it would be nice if it was closer.
The swimming pool was being serviced for the whole week during my stay.
A bad point was I had to wait an hour for the room to be ready when I checked in and the reception was not helpful during that time "come back in 1 hour."
Overall it is a nice comfortable no frills hotel worth the price.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The hotel's buisness centre has a great view of the harbour and a great atmosphere with friendly staff.

The hotel was very reasonably priced for a nice, clean room with a city view. Its location was also quite convenient as it was easy to get around and only a 10-15 minute walk to the subway.
Considering the price there were no major cons. The room was kind of small but it was fine for one person. The pool was closed when I was there, which was a little disappointing. I would recommend this hotel.

Hotel is in a rather good location close to tram station, which line connects to all major subway stations and lines (closest Sheung Wan - with tram few minutes - with walk 5-10 minutes). Hotel rooms (at least city view) are very small, but clean - hotel staff is friendly. If you plan a trip to Macao, the terminal is in short walking distance. If you prefer walking, the hotel is not far from Hong Kong Island Center (15-20 minutes). For example Peak station is reachable by walking. with a lot shopping and dining opportunities (Landmark, Soho etc.)

The area leaves a little bit to be desired as there is not much around. It is further from the MTR if you want to go on foot so you will have to take a taxi. It's also tiny if you want to share however it is very clean and cheap for the price. It was close to the ferry so for us it was great! The staff were friendly and the view was ok. It's good for quiet and clean accomodation.

I actually visited this hotel before booking it as my dad was coming in town to visit and I wanted to make sure it was nice/drop off some luggage to store for a few days. It is an attractive hotel, the lobby was nice enough, and most of all, it didnt smell bad at all when I visited. Flash forward a week, we check in after coming back from Macau, take a taxi from the pier and are accosted with the smell of dead fish. It was horrible. It clung to our clothes and was still present when we got to our room. We were on the 15th floor! The room itself was nice enough, a bit awkward with storage. The bathroom was spacious, which is rare in HK. However, stay away from the buffet!!! We decided to have easter brunch here, and were willing to fork up the 130HKD each. However, the eggs were beyond runny, the orange juice tasted like tang, the pancakes were out of a bag, the 'hash browns' were over-cooked tater tots. Oh and the pepper smelled like feet. So watch out, the food is disgusting. It looks nice enough walking out of the elevator and someone will immediately approach you and get you to sit down. DONT DO IT!! Also, a bottle of water in your room is 65hkd, downstairs is 36hkd, and a small cup of coffee is 49hkd. However, the coffee was excellent. So if you like good cokkee, crappy food and the smell of dead fish, this is your place!
Oh on a side note, the busboys were very helpful and friendly, and spoke better english than some of the people who checked us in/out. Also be warned that you need to print out your voucher before checking in, otherwise you will have difficulties.
Also, while far from the MTR, it is close to buses and the tram which run frequently, but take about 15 minutes to get to central.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Take the tram at night! its cooler(they have no A/C), a fun way to see the city and it stops a block from the hotel.
