This hotel provides very good value for money. Its location offers the guest an insight into everyday life in Western district whilst still offering easy access to Central and elsewhere via the tram and taxis. The staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. The rooms, whilst relatively compact, still contain iron and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel is clean and well maintained.
Travel tip:
The tramline (offering efficient and very cheap transport) runs parallel to the back of the hotel and is well worth locating!

As per others reviews posted before I go, this hotel is really value for money. Although it's some distance to the MTR, but the tram and buses make eveything easy. The staff are all kind and polite. Anyway, the room not bright enough at night.
Restaurant Tip:
Opposite the hotel there is traditional restaurant selling meat ball noodle, very tasty, must try!

Tired hotel with a friendly face

I was disappointed as I paid extra for a 'harbour'
view, I was in room 2009 which give a narrow (very) narrow view of the habour but a fabulous view of the towers next door. The photography on the website is misleading as the rooms are far smaller than you anticipate. two adults and two suitcases struggled for eight days. There were only ever 2 towels and the bed only had two pillows, bare minimum of everything really. I would not recommend this hotel however, the people were much nicer than a previous stay in the Marriott Coutyard just down the road.

Second attempt
Handy to HK-Macau-Shekou ferry terminal

As we live in Shenzhen the proximity to the ferry terminal is a plus. I was looking forward to a great night at this hotel. My expectations were high based on the hotels own website picture of a habour view room. With the musty smell and the room not at all like the photo my first impression was not the best. I was disappointed. However, we spent little time in it so I guess the container terminal view across the water did not matter. The very small room had no decorations, no pictures, only a flat screen TV with a few English speaking channels. The bottled water was HK$38/small bottle. That’s a rip off! The towels were soft and the coffee making facility useful. We ate out. The pool looked good but surrounded by high-rise. Staff were very professional. Shuttle bus to Central, very useful. Would we stay again? Yes, next week for the HK Sevens. Will the room be musty? I will let you know!

The initial impression was not bad, not wow either. The hotel staff were very courteous. TV was small & old, but they had an ok selection of channels (Pearl, ASX, Bloomberg, BBC, Nat'l Geographic).
It would have been nice if they had free internet.

Head for the mountains, the air is good there.

Were definitely booking again
Best hotel view! We stayed in a room with 180d scene of the harbourview at the 26th floor. We definitely had our curtains pulled on all sides during our sleep so we had the best view at night and as soon as you wake up--coolest morning, sun coming in! the hotel staffs were really really good. They speak good English and are very helpful with their guests! Nice bed fittings and everything! We just love it. Weve seen the other side of HK for real. They say the market smells downstairs, but its not really stinking that youd get irritated with it.

Little bit far away from the ferry terminal, the view to the harbour is better than the expectation. The place is clean and equip with the necessities. The price is attractive so and the accomodation is good enough. The only thing would be better to get the improvement is that the pillow is too soft and I did not sleep well.

What we were looking for
We received a free upgrade to a harbor-view room. The location was convenient for us. The rooms are larger than most in that price-range in Hong Kong. Clean. Bath tub.

Overall I'd say we were pleased with our experience. The pictures we saw were accurate representations of the actual room. We ended up being too busy to use the pool so I can't say how that was. The staff were friendly. We took advantage of the free shuttle to Central and to the airport express terminal. I'd be happy to stay here again next time I'm in Hong Kong.
