sparkling clean, excellent customer service, beautiful harbour view, free shuttle, nearby cheap tram services.

nothing in particular except the hotel isn't near to MTR which we can't complain cos we knew that ahead before booking the hotel.

We have stayed in several HK hotels over the years and I must say that Island Pacific hotel offers the best value-for-money accommodation. The hotel may not be near any MTR station but well-compensated by the local trams connected to Central bus station (to visit The Peak, Stanley Market and Ocean Park) and Admiralty MTR (for any tourist locations connected via MTR). Besides the cheap tram services, Island Pacific Hotel provides half hourly shuttle service to Central MTR and if you inform the bell boy you’re going to the ferry terminal, they can arrange the shuttle bus to drop you at the ferry terminal. Customer service was great. During one of the nights, we encountered a problem with our luggage locks. We called the reception and within five minutes, the handymen were at our door offering to help. The receptionist and concierge boys were always smiling. Ask them anything about HK (how to get there, what’s the opening hours, traveling tips, etc) and you’d be surprised they are sooo resourceful and always ready to assist you. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there and don’t mind coming back again.

nice view of harbour free shuttle to AEL & MTR three blocks away for bus to airport

about 10 to 15 mins walk to nearest MTR, but could use trams

This hotel is exellent value for money, ony paid less than usd50 per nite with 5% extra discount for more than 3 nites. Tram is located in 1-2 mins walking distance, so it's very convenient and cheap for getting around. Breakfast isn't included on the rate, but there are plenty local restaurants around hotel. I'll definately recommand this hotel for its price.

nth special i don't like, maybe, some dust on the linen

I got the cheapest price in Agoda so I book through here. The hotel room is nice and comfort, the view is good. The services in this hotel are well equipped, with swimming pool, dining venue and free shuttle bus.

Friendly & helpful service, comfortable rooms, convenient location

pool is not open 24 hours, mini-bar limited

If you're looking for a convenient, comfortable hotel in Hong Kong with friendly service, the Island Pacific Hotel is a good choice. The staff were polite and helpful, the rooms were very comfortable with good showers and all taxi drivers knew where it was located. I didn't try the Hotel's restaurant but I can recommend Cafe Helsinki, a tiny whole in the wall close by, which made simple but tasty bagels and omelettes.

Restaurant Tip : Cafe Helsinki

No room service or food of any sort avaliable after 11pm.

The quality of the hotel was reflected in the price: cheap. Small rooms, shabby fittings. No food was available after 11pm in the entire hotel, a dissapointment I'm sure to many arriving on later flights.

Restaurant Tip : Eat before you get there if arriving late.

Additional Fees - Internet Access

The hotel is located very close to the central. Somewhat within walking distance to a MTR station. Its rooms are nice and clean. Its staffs are well trained and friendly. Its is a full service hotel with resturant and bar. The main disappointment is that it is charging HK$30/hour or HK$120/day for internet access in guest rooms. Otherwise it is a good value stay at a nice location.

Close to the trolley, five trolley stops to the MTR and plenty of local flavor. There are no hawkers or peddler just a lot of honest and hardworking people. The staff is very friendly. A professionally run hotel.

Hong Kong Island seems to be in a never ending sewer repair and replacement mode and Centre Road and Connaught Rd are no different.

My family and I had another great visit to HK. The staff of Island Pacific was very friendly and professional. We really like the neighborhood setting and harbor views. We have a family of four so two rooms were required. IP provided connected rooms on the 9th floor.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Museum of Coastal Defense in Shau Kei Wan was an unexpected gem. My son and I had to go back the next day just to finish the outdoor walk. If you enjoy history (ancient and modern) you should plan to spend 4 hours.

The hotel room is very clean and well maintained.

The bar in the hotel is marginal. Access to internet in the room is $30/hour

The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The staffs are well trained and courteous. It is at the corner of a busy street. Short distance to Central and ferries. Many nice and inexpensive resturants within walking distance. The Indian resturant about a block away offers excellent value and good food.

Restaurant Tip : many nice and inexpensive resturant nearby

The hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and eager to please and the hotel was very convienent for the tram line. Excellent views of the harbour and a reasonable price.

Expensive bar and restaurant compared to local restaurants.

The Island Pacific hotel in Hong Kong is good value for money and convienient for central Hong Kong. Rooms are reasonable in size and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and are eager to help their guests. We stayed in a side harbour view room and whilst we could not see the whole of Hong Kong harbour the floor to ceiling windows gave a good view of the harbour activity. The hotel is on the Hong Kong tram system which is great for getting around and cheap at $2. The hotel also has a reasonable pool which is great after a hot day sightseeing.

Restaurant Tip : Try the restaurants around Wellington Road. They are mainly used by the Chinese but you can get a very cheap excellent meal and most have menus that are in English as well as Chinese.

Price - great value for money. Clean and comfortable - not luxurious but very comfortable. Room have not been trashed and are quite well maintained. Room had a small harbour view even though it was a standard room. Good location if you want a hit of Chinese surrounds. Very convenient public transport. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Check in and out took just a few minutes.

Somewhat noisy air conditioning but room was whisper quiet when switched off and we slept very well. Room was small but still much bigger than a lot of high end Hong Kong hotels. No hand hand shower in bathroom. Hotel has environment policy yet all linen and towels were changed daily. Pool & gym are in definite need of a makeover, but both are functional and clean. Be sure to put the 'Do Not Disturb' sign out as housekeeping management may pester you for access to the room for quality control.

This was such a pleasant surprise to find a room at such a good price in Hong Kong. We booked two nights initially as it was the first time we have not stayed in high end hotels in Hong Kong and were so pleasantly surprised we stayed another three nights. The location of the hotel is surely the dried fish and shark fin capital of Hong Kong. Expect some fishy street smells and to be morally confronted when walking past shops selling sharks fin.

The hotel was very neat. Staff were friendly and very accomodating despite the language barrier. The view of the harbour was stunning. Ideally situated with taxis and the tram at the street corner only a minute away from the hotel. The mtr is within walking distance. Good experience, good resturants surrounding the hotel

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The hotel has a free shuttle bus to and from the airport and the mtr stations

Good value hotel Friendly staff Clean premises Clean and sufficiently equipped gym

Nearest MTR station is quite far

We chose Island Pacific Hotel partly based on the mostly good reviews it garnered over the web from similar tourists and partly based on the price point. My girlfriend and I were pleasantly surprised at the size, quality, and cleanliness of the room we got. The staff was friendly enough, and they understood and spoke English relatively well. The gym was small but it was well equipped with machines and free weights, so keeping fit on a long visit should not be a problem. A minor negative that should be noted is the distance from the hotel to the nearest MTR station--a good 20 minutes by foot. however, once a visitor gets the hang of using the wonderfully quaint Tram system, going to the MTR (and thereby accessing the rest of Hong Kong) should only take a pleasant 5 minutes.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Island Pacific is only 5 minutes away from the ferry port for trips to Macau.

friendly staff nice view

interior nothing special

We were disappointed when we arrived because we have booked a room with seaview but only had a room with a view towards the city even if one could see the harbour as well. We went down to the reception where the staff explained to us that we booked a "side harbour view" room. well, that was not clear for us from the website. the very friendly staff in the end "upgraded" us to a real seaview room for free. therefore: website unclear, service very nice.

Rooms on the smaller size, charge for internet service

Nice hotel. Would stay in again. Had a room with a view of the water so you can see all the water traffic. Room was clean and the staff very friendly. Tram stop close by. Not too far from MRT station. Close to food market and died seafood shops. Overall a very nice stay.
