Good place to take a break

We spent one night at the hotel as a sort of post-Mother's Day treat. This is our second time at the hotel, which is relatively new so the facilities are in good shape. The rooms are clean and decent. The pool and gym are small, but sufficient. The hotel is surrounded by industrial buildings. For dinner, Aberdeen Center and Jumbo floating restaurant are both less than 10 minutes by taxi. We had dimsum breakfast at the Chinese restaurant just beside the side entrance, and there's also a cooked food market about 200m walk with tasty Thai dishes. If you get a room with cityview, you could see Ocean Park from your window. It is also very close to the Aberdeen Sports ground where they havea track oval, football pitches, and basketball court.

We used L'Hotel Island South as a base for the part of our HK trip focused on the south side of Hong Kong Island. It's very convenient to Ocean Park and an easy bus or taxi ride to Repulse Bay and Stanley. It will be ideally located when the considerable MTR construction is finished--providing easy access to Central, too! Appreciated the free wi-fi and comfortable, large beds. Would stay here again in the future.

Hotel shuttle bus to the airport and ocean park makes everything easy. The food is excellent, the rooms are good.

This is the second time that I've stayed at L' Hotel Island South. Both times, we brought the kids and transfer here from the Disney Hotel and use this as a launch point to Ocean Park.
I wouldn't say that the hotel is designed for children, but they seem to tolerate the kids just fine and sell two day passes to the park for cheap. The shuttle bus to Ocean Park makes everything easy.
The only odd thing that I had happen was when buying tickets to Ocean Park, we were purchasing an additional ticket for someone helping watch the kids and the people at the front desk practically tried to charge me for another room, since no more than three adults can stay in a guest room. I don't really think this was a problem with the hotel service, just over zealous desk workers, but it's irritating to be accused of violating hotel occupancy rules because you purchase 3 adult ocean park entrance tickets. They came close to having me thinking I had checked into a prison rather than a hotel, for a minute. But like I said, I am going to assume that was not the hotel, just over-zealous staff without adequate understanding of customer service.
