When we arrived we were given a twin room of the 32nd floor. Our excitement was quickly diminished when we saw the size of the room. My son is 6ft 2in and his feet stuck out of the bed. The bathroom is a closet space and my son had to duck to have a shower. Saying that it is a very convenient hotel to stay in if one's trip is based on night life, shopping and good food. After getting over the shock of the room size, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay as it suited our purpose of holiday. We would definately consider staying again at Kau U Fong.
Nightlife Tip:
The club Home Base is a great place to go for drinks and a dance after dinner.

My stay was great - I had a couple of wrong indications from the staff to places I wanted to go. The staff's English language should be a little bitter for some employees. It is a shame you cannot have one coffee in your room from the restaurant in the morning - you have to buy the complete buffet, or a complete breakfast delivered to your room - no way you can have a coffee in your room before 11AM...
But I love this hotel, I love the location, I love the view, and it is very clean!

LanKwaiFong Hotel's location can't be beat

Location of Lan Kwai Fong hotel can't be beat as it is walking distance to Central and it has fantastic shops, restaurants and cafes just as you step out of the lobby.
Restaurant Tip:
Round the corner from the hotel is a beef noodle place call Kau Kee - fantastic beef noodles and curry beef noodles. Expect to wait and expect to share tables!

Good location in LKF
Right in the heart of night spots

Hotel was in LKF where all nightspots are. Getting around this area requires climbing up and down where I will not suggest elderly folks to stay. Rooms has all basic amenities, cosy and just not too small. Toilet is small but shower pressure was good.
Nightlife Tip:
Many nightspots around. Cafes, bars, pubs.

There are two Lan Kwai Fong hotels of same name but the other is really in Lan Kwai Fong, this one is not (although this is the earlier original one I am told). Make sure taxi knows which one you are going to and you need to emphasize its the one at Kau U Fong which is a relatively obscure location. Hotel itself and staff is nice enough, its a short walk to central and the MTR (but almost anywhere in Hong Kong could be a short walk to the MTR - subway and transport in the city is very convenient anyway). The rooms are moderately small but comfortable enough. The decor is cute with some elemenents of Chinoiserie appreciated by some, so maybe its right for your tastes?

At first my girl friend complained about the small rooms, but then a Super Model from Thailand was staying at our hotel so all the issues went away. She also liked the make-up mirror with the folding doors. Location was everything food, shopping, LKF bars & clubs with-in walking distance. The room is great for 2 but if you bring kids or lots of bags then might be small.
I give the place 4 stars

Leave the hotel and be in the heart of the action in about 5 Min. Wooo Hoooo

By far the best value for money hotel with nice decor theme and professional staffs. Good location within the central district area, and walking distances to great eatery and shopping outlets. The only thing I don't like is the tiny bedroom and super compact bathroom, a trait in HK? overall stay is still pleasant.

For what I was there for, business/leisure Lan Kwai Fung was the best fit. The location was quite fantastic (super close to Hollywood street) but a lot more quite than if it were to be on the main road.
The room size is pretty small so for family this might not work so well.
