Convenient location, quaint hotel, good customer service, nice buffet.

Wi-Fi is not included.

I’ve lived in Hong Kong for several years and am quite familiar with the area and local hotels. I was pleasantly surprised by the Lan Kwai Fong @ Kau U Fong Hotel. It is a new, small boutique hotel. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The location is not right in the heart of Lan Kwai Fong, but the walk to most restaurants and shops is only about five minutes (some roads are steep, but taxis are also readily available). The breakfast buffet had a full range of foods, although this was not included in the price of the hotel. Coffee shops are within walking distance. They have a small roof-top bar which is really cute and relaxing especially if the weather is nice. The room size and bathroom are a bit small, but quaint, comfortable and clean. Most hotels in Hong Kong are limited in space, so this is to be expected. I would definitely stay in this hotel again, should I ever need accommodations or have visitors in Hong Kong.

Restaurant Tip : You can easily walk to the various resturants and pubs in Lan Kwai Fong as well as Soho (a less touristy area). Pacific mall is close as well.

Excellent room facilities

Room Service food/drink menu too expensive

We stayed for one night and because it was my birthday, we were upgraded to a deluxe room for no extra cost. That was a particulary nice touch. It was difficult to put any fault on the hotel - except that the buffet breakfast was not available due to renovations at the time.

Hotel Feature Tip : If you want a big bathtub - forget it! It's Asia! I would stay there again though.

Modern, clean,new.

rooms are a little small with very small bathrooms.

On arriving, the taxi had some difficulties locating the hotel as most drivers mistake it for the Lan Kwai Fong Hotel on Hollywood road. However, we were quite pleased with the hotel when we finally arrived as it was modern, and new. The rooms were small compared to what we were used to although the decor was really nice. It's not as convenient as the one on Hollywood road because we had to walk further to get to the nearest MTR station which was called Sheung Wan Station. After 11pm room service also leaves a lot to be desired as there were only 2 choices for order. As I had kids with me, who happens to love ordering Room Service, they were very much disappointed. Prices for the quality of food were also on the high side.

Nightlife Tip : It is quite near to Lan Kwai Fong's nightlife although not as near as the one on Hollywood Road

Very well positioned, and we loved the area.

The bedroom was VERY small, and the bathroom TINY. A pity it didn't have a bath, but there just wasn't room!

We found the service very efficient, and if we had a problem the staff always helped sort it out. However the bedroom was very small, and also the bathroom was minute, and we would have liked to have a bath as well as a shower. We found the location great, and loved being among so many really good international restaurants.

Location, service, cleanliness, free Airport Express shuttle.

None

This was the perfect hotel for exploring Hong Kong; just short walks to trams, buses, the subway, ferry terminals, grocery stores and tons of restaurants and shops. The staff was remarkably friendly and helpful and the free Airport Express shuttle was really convenient. The place was super clean, has a fast internet connection, a comfy bed and awesome views; couldn't ask for more for the price. I'll definitely stay here again and will recommend the hotel to my family and friends.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The lower Peak Tram terminus is a nice short walk away. Don't waste your time catching bus 15C at the ferry terminals. You can walk there faster, and if you cut up Kai Chiu Road off of Queen's Road to get there you can wander through a nice little park and walk by St. John's Cathedral on the way.

Clean, new, modern and well featured.

Very small rooms. Sterile staff, but many of them.

Well situated in Soho, in the trendy district of HK Central, this hotel is very eclectic, clean and well serviced

Restaurant Tip : Lots of local bars/restaurants in walking distance

Affordability and proximity at a reasonable price

Rooms were very small. The bathroom was a good size but the sink was too small and impossible to use because of the glass shelf. The handicap seat in the shower was terrible as it got in the way of me trying to take a shower

Check in was fine but the clerk at check out wanted my credit card number to make me pay for an extra night until a manager intervened. We stayed at this hotel thinking it was the other Hotel LKF which is in the heart of all the restaurants and bars in Lan Kwai Fong area. This hotel with a very similar name was not in the area.

Good design, warm hospitality

Nothing

We stayed two days at this hotel. Room was unified as asian taste. There are small space at window, it's too good. Lastday, they upgraded the room for free. This room has bathtab so it made us more relax.

The room was surprisingly well furnished. I liked all the Chinese details that went into making the room cosy and comfortable. The location was excellent too. Just a flight of steps down to Queens Road Central and 5 minutes walk to Lan Kwai Fong along Wellington Street

Not much service at this hotel. I checked in late at night and there was no one to help with luggage. The staff only talk to you if you talk to them, and even then it's just to answer your question.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at Lan Kwai Fong Hotel, although this hotel is often and easily mixed up with LKF Hotel (which is located right at the heart of Lan Kwai Fong), and my taxi driver did just that on the first night of my arrival. The room is tiny but I suppose that's HK for you. It's still cosy though, and has all the amenities like a hairdryer, full toiletry set, which a regular hotel would have. The location is great too. May not be easy to find taxis at the hotel but it's close to the main roads, train stations and tram stations so it's ideal for getting around like a local and seeing more of Hong Kong. It's also close to Lan Kwai Fong, about 5 minutes walk. I didnt't receive much service from the staff at this hotel, but that's fine by me, since I was out of the hotel most of the time anyways. I would definitely come back to Lan Kwai Fong Hotel again though.

Nightlife Tip : Walk over to The Cavern at Lan Kwai Fong. They have live bands playing almost every night, which are pretty good. Plus there's happy hour for drinks.

We'd gladly stay at the hotel again as it suited our needs. We spend very little time in hotel rooms and tend to be out and about. LKF offered clean and comfortable rooms with all the amenities we needed.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Great reflexology/foot massage place up the hill from LKF. Lovely atmosphere and great therapist with good prices. I had 2 treatments whilst there!
