Clean, not too expensive, nice pool, friendly staff,

location, but they have a good shuttle bus

This hotel is a very nice hotel in the middle of Kowloon. It is clean and has a friendly staff. It is not super cheap but consider what you get, the price is not bad. If you don't like walking it is little far from where everything is happening, but they have a good shuttle bus.

Free shuttle service to various venues excellent for first time visitors. Food & bar facilities excellent & staff helpful.

Very little negatives in our opinion.

As first time visitors we foud the reception desk staff most helpful. The concierge service was quick and effecient with our luggage plus helpfulnwhen asked various questions. The free shuttle service around various venues was much appreciated for us as novice travellers. We found the restuarants and bars pleasant and efficient and the staff in those areas very helpful. We would have no hesitation of staying again on any return.

Restaurants - reviews follow

The Metropark Hotel Kowloon's location is good for the northern Kowloon / Mongkok area. Some cite the 10-minute walk to the nearest MTR station as a negative, but it really is only about 8 blocks. It may be a bit far to haul a bunch of luggage, if you arrive there. I spent a week in Dongguan and Shenzhen and came back to the hotel rolling my carry-on bag and wearing my backpack. Not a problem, at all. Besides, there are plenty of taxis at the MTR. I have been to HK a number of times before and have done all the touristy things. Personally, I prefer the "real" experience: shop where the locals shop, eat where the locals eat, and be immersed in the exoticness (for an American) and controlled chaos of the area. The hotel's location is convenient to all that, yet a couple blocks from the buisiest areas, providing just enough of a cushion of peace and privacy, relatively speaking (Remember, we are still talking about the incredibly dynamic Hong Kong/Kowloon/Mongkok area). The hotel has a great free shuttle service for those that want to shop the sports or electronics streets or ladies market in Mongkok or for visiting the south end, Tsim Sha Tsui, South Nathan Street, and the ferry's for transport to central Hong Kong. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes and is a great service. There is also a shuttle to and from the airport for HK$98 (about US$12) each way which provides door-to-door service. The staff could not be more helpful. I regrete that I did not get her name, but the housekeeper that took care of my room and me was consistently polite and attentive to all details and accommodated my every request. On the first day, my television volume would not get very loud. I mentioned it to her and, within two minutes, someone from maintenance was there to immediately correct the problem. Since I was going to be there three weeks, I needed an iron and ironing board. They were instantly produced and, when I told her I would need them for my entire stay, she

Restaurant Tip : 4 foods to try: Fried rice, rice noodles, congee (rice porridge) and dim sum. Dim sum is an fun way for 2, 3 or 4 people to try a lot of little appetizer-like items. Explore the area on foot. For good, cheap, dim sum, Go north of Argyle Street, about 5 blocks, cross Prince Edward Road. One more block gets you to Playing Field Road. Right around the corner (I can't rember, it is either Tung Choi or Fa Yuen Street) is a dim sum restaurant that serves, what is traditionally only breakfast or lunch fare, late into the evening. A couple I shared a marvelous meal with, told me that office workers and commuters want dim sum in the evening and this restaurant caters to that need. Appropriatley named One Dim Sum Chinese Restaurant, I found it so good that I ate there tree times. To start, order sui mai pork & shrimp steamed dumplings, har goa shrimp dumplings, cha siu bao steamed BBQ pork buns and, my new favorite, fried skin of beancurd roll, filled with shrimp on other things. Wonderful. Other thing to try here or elsewhere: fried turnip cakes and glutinous rice filled with various filligs, wrapped and steamed in little lotus leaf packages. Mmmm. They, as do most restaruants in the area, also offer "Chicken Paws" for the more adventurous diners.

Free shuttle bus to Mongkok and TST East station. Prompt Housekeeping services

Not enough tv channels

The staff at reception was very friendly, I requested for adjoining rooms and although they do not have any, they found me 2 rooms in their suites and gave me and my friend a free upgrade to superior rooms. The hotel is very accessible, only took me about 15 minutes to walk to Mongkok Station if I missed the shuttle-bus. It was easy to get to the hotel as well as there is a free shuttle bus that travels to and from the Airport Express station at Kowloon East. I would definately go back to stay in Metrpark Kowloon on my next visit to Hongkong.

Hotel Feature Tip : The hotel provides free internet broadband access which is perfect for business travellers.

no Train station near-by.

when the bus from hotel to "lady market" (one stop), then continue the route. If possible, after the "lady market" the bus turn back to hotel to drop the guests, the continue the route is much more better. otherwise, guests, has to "wait" in the bus go for a big round. (nearly 1 hour)

I like it's location and convenience, we enjoyed staying at the Club room.

Would like for the Hotel staff to informed us at check in that the room key will be deactivated after 12pm when we have informed the counter staff that we will be checking out at 3pm. I'm not sure but I think the sound proofing could be imnproved.

Generally, we have enjoyed our stay at Metropark Kowloon. I felt that my first stay in the hotel is good enough to warrant a second visit, abid with a better category of room. The second visit was in the midst of the swine flu epidemic and me and my wife was worried, especially so when the news reported Metropark was being quarantined. To our relief it is at Wan Chai. My appreciation goes to all the staff who have patiently answered my emails and phone call under circumstances where we as guests may not be as patient. Kudos to the housekeeper who refuse to open the door for us after 12pm as part of the hotel security arrangement. We felt safe and not too overly inconvenienced by the health arrangements and therefore enjoyed our stay. The price is just right, maybe it is not the peak season.

Shopping Tip : Near to the Kwong Wah Street with the all my favourite model shops in one place.

Conveniently travel from/to airport with free airport express shuttle bus service which stop right at the hotel. Also having free shuttle bus from hotel to Mong Kok and tsim sha tsui. Room space is fine compare to other hotel in the same class.

One downside is about its location which is too far to walk from/to Mong Kok shopping area and MTR especially for children and elder. And with this price guests should be provided with breakfast with no extra charge. Also the bar and restaurants in hotel are quite expensive.

This is one of a good choice especially for business travel since the transportation from hotel to/from airport or downtown is available free of charge. The room space, service, cleanliness and facilities are fine with reasonable price. But for traveling, the negative side is about its location which is too far walking distance from shopping area, MTR, good restaurant, even there's shuttle bus provided but it is not convenient for the way back. And also they don't include breakfast which makes it unnecessary expensive which is much unfavorable to traveler since most of the tourist guest expect to.

Shopping Tip : It is near Mong Kok shopping area, a place you shouldn't miss. If having elder or children, better take taxi from MongKok MTR station when coming back to hotel, it is only 18 HKD, it is too far to walk.

Before I stayed at this hotel, I read reviews that said it was inconvenient but that is definitely not true. It took only 5 minutes or so to walk to the nearest station. They also have free shuttle buses every half an hour.

Customer Service is good friendly staff. The hotel has a free shuttle bus which is very convenient to guests. It saved us five mins walk to get to shops and MTR.

Some floors needs to have their carpet replaced.

Our stay in Metropark Kowloon were quite enjoyable. The shuttle bus was a plus because it saves us from walking after a long day. The customer service is excellent - staff are friendly.

Shopping Tip : If you are up for bargains this hotel is closer to Ladies Market where you can haggle for the price.

Close to Mongkok, free shuttle to Mongkok and Tsim Sha Tsui, free hotspot in ground floor and lobby floor, chinese restaurants and Seven Eleven nearby

room size rather small, unimpressive swimming pool and gym, pricing scheme (at the time of my booking) does not reward those who booked earlier (the price declined as it got closer to my booking date, such a big turn off!!).

Overall, my impression on the hotel was so-so. For the price I was paying, which was close to US$100 per night, I set higher expectation than what I really got. The room was small, but I guess that is rather the norm for HK, and the service was unimpressive. However, free and regular shuttle bus to Mongkok and Tsim Sha Tsui is a plus (although the driver wasn't willing to wait for unfortunate hotel guests who missed the shuttle by few seconds).
