The Novotel in Wanchai is conveniently located between Wanchai and Causeway Bay. It is not far from the MTR (subway station), an 8 minute walk. The Lobby is well appointed and there seem to be an abundance of service personnel stationed throughout the lobby. There is a nice lobby cafe with internet access and sandwiches which I did not try but they looked good. HK hotel rates have gone up dramatically in the past five years but I got a reasonable price through this website--much better than through Novotel's own guaranteed lowest price website. The rooms are not very large but okay. Bed was large but hard and not very comfortable. Nice TV. Bathroom was small but adequate. Shower head was broken. Decent value for the money.

Nice hotel. Staff friendly.

Clean rooms. Nice lobby. 2 blocks to MTR. The floors and carpet are clean. Nice flat screen tv but limited channels.

100 HKD a day for 24 hours of Internet, too expensive and you have to re-connect and pay everyday. No choice to have access for a few days or a week.

This is a good and comfortable business class hotel at reasonable price. Checking in was smooth and lobby is spacious. However not so near the MTR station. For shoppers, there is no good shopping center around so need to walk a distance to the nearest shopping centers. Otherwise one stop to Causeway Bay or switch from Admiralty to Kowloon island.

I like the friendliness of the staff in this hotel. We had to go to Macau overnight and they let us leave our stuff in the hotel and pick it up the next day before departure to the airport. They even gave my 1-yr old son a stuffed toy he really liked. I forgot to print my booking voucher and they did not give me any worries about it. They let me use their printer and business center for free.

Friendliness of staff, nice pool at the rooftop, free internet access at the hotel lobby.

Room without views.

new decorations, good design, good use of space

- wireless internet that provided (I pay for it) is way below standard. 3 hours to be used at one time only, not happening in any other hotels I have been to. Hotel staffs could certainly smile more. I found 1 used sock (not mine nor my friend's)in my room (in my second day at Novotel. This scared the hell out of me. Again, never happen in any other hotel.

• Hotel Feature Tip : You are unable to use the computer and internet at the lobby unless you spend at least 24 HKD at the cafe.

I have heard the Wan Chai area is going through a lot on reconstruction so looking forward to my next stay in Novotel.

The rooms were very clean and tidy. People at reception very friendly. A lot of places to go out near the hotel.

The surronding seemed to be a rough neighbourhood.

For the budget conscious, it was convenient to have a 7-11 store across the hotel, and Pacific Coffee Shop right next to it.

• Restaurant Tip : Korean Restaurant on Jaffe Rd a block and a half from the hotel offered excellent barbecue buffet for HK$118 + 10% service charge. Great value for the money!

I have stayed here often but the service and feel of the hotel has slipped back since I first started using the hotel. The value for money just isn't there... the rooms are OK but nothing special. It needs a fresh overhaul and the staff need some training to smile once in awhile. Overpriced compared with other hotels...

Great location, close to the Exhibition Centre, clean and tidy rooms.

The front counter staff didn't smile, looked overworked or tired. Everything seemed an effort.
