This is our second time to stay at the Novotel citygate, we love the location especially for the last few nights before leaving HK, because of the fact the airport is near with the free shuttle to the airport, we can have plenty of rest before the long flight back home. The hotel catered to our needs and allowed our late check out, for tourists that need to do sightseeing in Lantau island will be perfect as the cable car can be spotted not far from hotel. The shopping mall is great with big brand name stores, food is fantastic too with quite reasonable price. We will choose this hotel again for our next stay in Hong Kong.

Close to airport, shopping , MTR ,Lantau sightseeing and not too crowded.

Booking for stay can be expensive. And they should provide free internet excess to guests .

• Shopping Tip : Just steps from the citygate outlet mall and 5 minutes walk from the MTR station.

If found the hotel to be very convenient at the end of my trip for an early morning flight out of the airport. The location at the Citygate shopping mall was also very handy in my circumstance. I found the room to be quite comfortable and elegant...especially after some of the hotels I was staying at on the mainland. The Novotel Citygate was the perfect way to pamper myself after a long, tiring and hectic business trip.

I arrived and the staff quickly checked me in and even upgraded me to the executive floor. Hotel was clean and comfortable! Excellent!

• Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you can, book a later flight so that you can walk around the huge outlet mall next to the hotel. Unfortunately, the stores do not open until 11 AM.

A good place to stay if catching an early morning flight. Don't have to worry about traffic jam and waking up very early. A good place to stay for last minute shopping as it is next to a new shopping centre with many brand-names shops. A new hotel with beautiful large room that is unlike many of the hotels in the city.

It is very conveniently located not far from HK airport - only HKD$40 for a taxi (4 euro). The outlet shopping is great and there are good eating options. The MRT is very close and its about 40 minutes into HK central.

Good clean and very comfortable and nice staff.

They have free shuttle for airport but to find the shuttle is very difficult.

Nice room when I finally got it

Poor service overall, not enough people on site to help with bags, I checked in at midnight due to a late flight and it took 30 minutes to get my room. I had prepaid for a queen non smoking room and they first asked me if I would take a smoking room on a higher floor, I declined, then they asked if I would take a room with two beds pushed together, again I declined. Finally they upgraded me to the business floor. Obviously they had given my room away even though I had already paid for it. They should have upgraded me immediatley instead of wasting my time so late at night.

Our stay at Novotel Hotel was wonderful. It is conveniently located at an MTR station and was a short walk through an outlet mall. The lobby and rooms were very elegant and very quiet. It was a very calming environment and great for a quiet get away from the busy city. The pool was beautiful although we didn't have time for a swim. The room was very clean and everything was great. The one recommendation we would make would be for the twin beds to be a bit bigger, if possible. We would definitely recommend staying at Novotel Hotel again especially if you want to visit Ngong Ping/360 and do some outlet shopping or if you just want a quiet place to stay away from the busy bustling Hong Kong core.

We stayed here only one night as we had an early flight out of HK. On arrival, the reception informed us that they did not have the type of room we requested, however without any upset, she upgraded us to the business floor to accomdate our needs. The room was comfortable and well furnished. Adjoining the hotel is a shopping mall, great for last minute essentials, gifts and dining options.

location is great, only 5 mins by taxi to the airport, or free shuttle bus. Easy to get to on the subway.

Unfortunately the shuttle bus only starts running at 6.00am, so not so good if you have a really early flight!

• Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : if you have time, take the cable car ride, the entrance is only a few minutes walk from the hotel, great views

Good Hotel for Airplane Transfers Guest Rating: 4.2

I compared with several other hotels in the same area and found this one most reasonable in term of value for money. I was not disappointed at all. All hotels in the airport area are kind of expensive in terms of their value for money. Anyway, this is Hong Kong. What else you can get with $175 per night? If I come back to Hong Kong again, I may go to downtown area. It seems that there are more hotels to choose and the value for money is better in that area.

I know that I choose to stay in this hotel because it is close to the airport. So I have nothing to complain about it being far away from downtown.

The hotel is really close to the airport and perfect for short transit visits - it also has a free shuttle to and from the airport which took about 5 minutes. Compared to other hotels near the airport is super value for money. It's very comfortable, clean and elegant - decor is tasteful. View nice, food good, and staff pleasant. Great all round experience for an overnight trip
