Ramada HK - a real mixed bag Guest Rating: 3.0

The location was a little out of town - but easy enough to get into central (about 15 minutes by tram - arriving every 1/2 minutes from outside the hotel). The room was a good size and nicely furnished. The bed was unbelievably hard - almost like a board. The checking out procedure was unbelievable. They should have collected a voucher from me when i arrived but they forgot to. They then insisted I provide this for them at the end of my stay - I couldn't lay my hands on it and didn't feel like unpacking all my stuff at 5 am. They marched me off to the internet room where i had to log on to my email and print off another copy. This whole process took 40 minutes and was a result of their mistake. When i asked about conpensation for being treated so inappropriately, the duty manager offered to reduce my final bill by the cost of one breakfast - I could help but laugh. There were some nice people working at the hotel, but procedures were odd at times and one or two people were not very friendly. The breakfast was pretty decent - but did not change at all during the 7 days I was at the hotel. There was evidence of very poor management.

Location of the Hotel

Reception staff was very slow at the time of check-in. Very rude behaviour of the front office staff, especialy the cashier and the Concierge.

Convenient location (if you enjoy tram rides) ; modern rooms,fully equipped, friendly, courteous and efficient staff,an outstanding oasis in a "local" district in Western. If you want to get the feel of Hong Kong in a local area but in a safe modern hotel, this is great place.

Modern rooms with all facilities you need -all new equipment-comfort and efficient-beautiful fixtures and fittings-great prices.

I prefer to have the buffet breakfast with fried eggs, more European/American style but the range of buffet food was good.

• Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take a tram ride for 2HK$ and see the real Hong Kong as you go to central or Causeway Bay- best ride in town -and take your camera.

The bed was big and comfortable. The room was clean and roomy. The TV had several different English channels. Transportation to and from the hotel was easy. The breakfast buffet was very good.

The massage heads in the shower did not work. There was nothing to do around the hotel.

The showers are so small. Its not a tub, its a walk in closet. The soap and shampoo that they give you is enough for an arm and half your head. The beds are a bit rough and the customer service is a little off. I asked downstairs in the lobby for a power adapter. The lady told me to go to my room and call the operator. What was that all about? Wasn't she the operator? TV's are not proportional to the room size. When you are lying in bed you can barely make out the TV screen. I was watching a movie, which I was really into, but had to be on top of the TV to see what was going on.

Rooms are huge and spacious. They have very nice movies playing all day/night. Bathrooms are clean, the hotel is also clean and smells good.

The hotel is out in the middle of nowhere. The MTR is no where near walking distance which makes it difficult for travelers to roam around the city. The showers need to be larger and the TV's need to be proportional to the room size. 15" wont cut it.

• Nightlife Tip : There is absolutely no nightlife around this area so you must either take a taxi to where you want to play or walk to an MTR station that is not near.

The hotel is situated in a quiet area, at least it seems so from the higher floors were we stayed. True, it is somewhat far from downtown Hong Kong, but still it is easy to get there with public transportation. All in all we find this hotel a pleasant place to stay; if not we would not have stayed there several times.

Friendly staff, quiet, smoke-free floors, free transport to airport express train.

Ought to have free Internet access. The standard rooms seem a bit small with only one chair.

I never expect that i paid such an affordable price for Ramada Hotel and the expectation they return is a top quality service, I give this hotel full marks,everything is served in a 5 star service!! Highly reccommended this hotel!!! I would definitely check in at ramada hotel again.

I picked Ramada Hotel Hongkong, as its very affordable and rate it as a 5 star hotel. The spa is one of the top services,the rooms are very high quality, bedsheets are changed everyday, sheets top quality press,always clean spotless, room service was very helpful and very friendly,everything bout this hotel is full marks..This hotel is for people who expect the best of what they're paying for..definitely would stay at Ramada Hotel Hongkong for my next trip..Highly reccommended to anyone.

This is second time I stay here. I feel there are more tourist in it, and more of them are chinese. Totally. it's still a good hotel, low price, good service, and big room.
