Strategic location but old furnitures in the room

Regal Kowloon has a friendly concierge staff and spacious room with widescreen TV however they have no chairs for guests in the lobby who wants to use the free wifi. You have to go up to the second floor and finally get seated on a couch. Overall stay in the room is nice except that their wooden furnitures are a bit old (i guess).

A good location and reasonable price

this was our first visit to hong kong. i was having a really difficult time finding a hotel in a decent area that was within our price range. i was also worried about the room size, as we are a family of four (one baby and one 4 year old). however, we were very pleasantly surprised when we reached our room! the room was big enough for all of us and a crib was provided! the beds were comfortable too. the area was good for us, as we aren't big into shopping and crowded markets. but the harbor is within walking distance, as is the mtr. the science museum is around the corner and kowloon park (with a wonderful playground) is about 20 minutes away. there is square right next to the hotel with some quick restaurants and a fun little bar (with a great happy hour deal). our hotel booking included breakfast, which made it a reasonable deal. the assistant manager was very helpful when our son got sick. he was immediately ready to give advice and offer ideas (on call doctors or a hospital visit). the gym was adequate, we used it daily. a few minor complaints... the 1st floor smelled of toxic paint, there is no bathroom on the ground/lobby floor (with kids, that's annoying), the shower only had one door and thus did not stop the water from spraying all over the bathroom (slippery, again a problem with kids), it smelled like someone was smoking in a room near us as the smell reached our bathroom. oh and the buffet breakfast was good, but the staff are stressed and don't communicate with each other or follow wishes (we asked them not to remove our plates, but they did anyway). anyway, i would probably stay there again.
Nightlife Tip:
the bar in the square nearby had 2 for 1 happy hour deals on all beers. and what a great selection of beer! wow! so many choices for food too. it was a good option for us and our children!

breakfast is adequate but fresh fruits are limited, not refilled if you do not come in early.

As there are 3 of us in a room, I think they have given us a bigger room than the standard size. The TV channels are good. Lots of cable channels and movies to watch. The toilet is well stocked with toothbrushes, shampoos,towels and bathing gel.MRT station (Tsim Sha Tsui East Station) is within a 2 minute walk from the hotel.
Two complaints that I have are:
1. that you need to get a USER ID and password at the conceirge that gives you only 2 hour access to WIFI at the lobby per day. So we have to keep going back to the conceirge to get a new user id and password everytime. WIFI should be made available with a one time login id and password for each guest/check in to eliminate the trouble and hassle of having to go back to the conceirge everytime/every day.
2. Not enough bell boys to help carry luggage. We had to lug our own luggage from the taxi to the check in counter as there was no one to assist us with the luggage outside the lobby.
Restaurant Tip:
Try the new star restaurant at Kwong Wa Street. Good and Reasonably priced Dim Sum and with good service and ambience.

Good Buy In Tsim Sha Tsui East

Our family always enjoy TST East area hotels, the area is cleaner and safer than Nathan Road area. A great supermarket is steps away, we can buy food and necessary items for baby easily. Highly recommend this hotel if you don't do too much shopping, but taxi is easy to hire, much less competition with others like Tsim Sha Tsui.
Good breakfast, we have no problem to find proper food for our 2 yr old baby.

the hotel staff during our check in gave us a hard time, she kept on insisting that we've only booked 1 room, well in fact it was 2 rooms. we kept asking her to show us the electronic receipt that we gave them but still she kept on insisting that it is only 1 room, after awhile she decided to find our booking papers, we point out to her her that the it was in fact 2 electronic receipts she apologized but this is done after almost half an hour had gone by arguing with her that it was two bookings. waste of time.
