Not a best choice in Shatin area

I usually stayed at the Tsim Sha Tsui area when I travel to Hong Kong for business trip, but for this trip, I am not sure why all the Hotels that I used to stayed, the rate have gone up like crazy, around 200% more than I usually paid for, so I search for a new hotel which is close to my budget, then I came across to the Regal Riverside. Although the location is not as convenience as the hotel in the Tsim Sha Tsui area, but everything else about the Hotel are quite nice. It's quiet, the room is clean & modern, and most of all, the Hotel staffs are very friendly, I would certainly stay at this hotel for my next trip to Hong Kong.

i thought it was gonna be a large double bed but the staff told me only twin rooms were available(okay, wont be ideal for couples then). i guess thats what happens when u pay in advance.
overall it was good. since it was special offer, breakfast was not included. and i didnt have time to dine in the hotel (breakfast room service requires 20min prep time which was a bit long but understandable) view was good, garden view w/ direct sunlight. large bathroom w/ bath.
need to pay for internet access inside the room.
at first i couldnt find the hair dryer, then i figured it was hidden inside one the drawers. so make sure u check all available drawers.
despite being too far from the MTR on foot and 40min MTR to Central, i would come here again if my holiday was longer.

Satisfied during our stay there
The hotel staffs were very friendly , comfortable room and easy access to public transports.

When we arrived at the airport, we expected someone from the hotel to pick us up. So we waited for half an hour and decided to call the hotel, only to realise that we have to proceed to the hotel lobby at the airport for the shuttle bus. This was not made clear to us during booking. When we reached the hotel, it took us about 20mins to check in. The first lady at the reception who attended to us, couldn't speak English and we waited for another lady who was engaged with another customer at that moment. We also didn't know that we are required to place a deposit during check in. That wasn't an issue. We were 2 couples and we booked 2 rooms. Mine a deluxe and my friend's a superior. When we got into our rooms, I immediately knew that it wasn't a deluxe room. So, I went back down and told the same lady at the reception about it. She agreed to change the room for me and told me to go back up, take the key and come back down for exchange. I think she is not being helpful that way. I have to make 2 trips up and down from the 12th story for her mistake. I think being in the front service line, we have to look into this matter seriously. And I should say that, working in a hotel where so many guests from different countries, it is essential to be able to speak or at least understand simple English. Even for the room service because I had a hard time telling them for an iron and ironing board.
