this was a lovely hotel. it was very clean, great service and everyone was so helpful. the garden room was quite spacious. the bathroom was big for hong kong standards and the bathtub was plenty big. the pool is shared with the grand hyatt but there were no over crowdness. i have no complaints for this hotel and highly recommend it!!

Comfortable hotel next to HK Convention Center
newly renovated in zen style, convenient to Wanchai ferry

This hotel is very convenient if one wants to attend an auction or see an exhibit at the HK Convention Center, as these two places are connected via an indoor corridor with a food court. The hotel rooms on the upper floors have recently been renovated, zen style, with modern bathrooms separated from the bed area through glass, which has venetian blinds; however, their bathrooms do not provide the occupants much privacy_ in the case of the first room we got, the toilet did'nt have a door at all, meaning, when one enters the room, one sees the toilet on one's left, including anybody who could be sitting in the "john" or washing his face, or showering. THere is a glass see-through shower enclosure, though. If one is with a partner/spouse, this may be okay_ but when one is traveling with just a friend who may want to see an exhibit, or whatever, this type of room is odd and awkward_no privacy provided at all. In the second room we transferred to (since there was a minor leak in the WC of the first room),one encounters the bathroom on the right as one enters, however, the bathroom door IS a glass see-through door again,NO PRIVACY AGAIN, but this time the room had a tub with shower curtains. Well,perhaps they just give this room type to couples.To their credit, since our first room had a minor leak, they upgraded us to a harbour-view room, not big, but with a fantastic view. HK harbour is just soo beautiful and serene, and I surmise that Renaissance Harbour View hotel has a lot of harbour-view rooms. The hotel's small reception area/ lobby is up a flight of escalator steps, on the second floor, but it's not a problem, as the porter meets guests on the ground floor.There is live music with singers in the lobby lounge during cocktail hours and into the night, so it is nice to hang around there,too. What I like about this hotel, too, is that I could just pass its pedestrian walkways and be at the Wanchai ferry terminal in no time,whenever I want to go to the Kowloon side.
Travel tip:
Check what type of room you will be given, depending on how much privacy you want, esp in the toilet!

friendly, helpful staff. good location and well linked to mtr.

room is well maintained and clean. location of hotel is excellent with f&b outlets nearby and covered linkway to the mtr. staff are friendly. only con is that free wifi is only available at the lobby and tv channels quite limited. room service selection too limited also.

room was very nice harbour view - but lots of heavy marine construction going on below so a bit noisy during daytime. nicely equipped room, but the aircon was too cold, even when switched off completely. club lounge spacious and attentive staff. lobby lounge nice in the evening, good singer and band.
