Great location
Manageable price
Included breakfast
Both the pool and the exercise room were closed
WE were glad to find a hotel away from it all on Lantau where we wanted to hike about and explore. The rooms are not new but we did not want to pay for new rooms! We have stayed twice. Some views are better than others. The pool was empty and the exercise room was closed. So much to see on Lantau Will stay there again I am sure.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : There is so much to see on Lantau my son and I liked Tai O. Take the 1 bus from the Mui Wo Ferry great views along the way. Tai o is a fishing village with a lot of character.

Great location, good price, family friendly, clean, bar and outdoor eating areas provide good atmosphere.
Rooms need a refurb - carpets are in a sad state, there is limited access for people with disabilities. Room/bathroom amenities could do with improvement such as soap, shampoos etc.
The hotel is in a great location, adjacent to Miu Wo village centre and, as the name suggests, Silvermine Beach. It's a short walk from the ferry pier with services to and from Hong Kong and provides a welcome stopover for weary walkers taking in the many trails of Lantau Island. The rooms are comfortable and clean but with only double beds, not queen or king-sized beds which are a bit small for large/tall couples. The pool is a good size and clean. The evening 'international' BBQ provides a convivial atmosphere for watching villagers and tourists take-in the water views. The room fittings, especially carpet are old and could do with a refurb but for the price is not too bad. Overall a worthwhile hotel but not for those seeking a luxury resort getaway.
Restaurant Tip : Walk past the hotel and Silvermine beach to reach "China Beach" a not easily noticeable restaurant. Up the stairs to sample great food and a long terrace overlooking the bay - cash only!

Peaceful location, friendly staff
Internet available in the cafe for free
Showing its age, but you pay for what you get
This is a budget hotel, and the more travellers that come the bigger the budget the hotel owners will have to spend. The outside has been renovated, next it may the bedrooms.
Price, quality, value for money is consistent at this hotel. And so is the service. It is somewhere to get away from the incessant noise of HK - a peaceful oasis.

Plenty of space. Hotel is very beautiful at night.
The Hotel looks old in daytime. But with the lighting effect, it's stunning. Easy access to the beach. However facilities are old even in the new wing. I really enjoy my stay at the hotel in general.

Big Room, Friendly Staff, Very Peaceful Sorroundings, Just BEside The BEach, Near Ferry Station
i aarived 11pm in the hotel so i didnt see a lot of people around, whe i arrived there the taxi couldnt get inside, so i have to wall around 5min going to the hotel, at first i got lost then i saw foreign people in a store and they where very nice to us, he led me the way to the hotel and he even insist to help me with my baggage but i dissagree, he said he wont steal anything, but i really couldnt just give a trust to stranger specially it was my first time in that place, so i took my baggage from him though hes really so kind. when i we get to the hotel i thank him and promise to get a visit to hes store after a check in, but when i returned there, theyre already closed and you wont see anyone walking around in the dark night, so im a little bit scared running to go backl to the hotel.. the hotelk staff where very kind, i saw only two , the one was the fronf staff and the orther one is a littlle but old woman but very kind... id didnt have much time to room around in the mormning cause i was so tired so i woke up late and tol a lucn at the hotel buffet...
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : from the hotel to silvermine when i took the taxi i feel so peaceful, i got a peace of mind, so relaxing and refreshing! ive never felt this before in any of my travelnin europe or in other part of asia...

A good, clean, nice staff hotel.
We have to pay for the internet service HK 80 and very far from town.
It's a very good view hotel and it's worth with the view although the hotel is very far from town. it's take about 30 minutes from tung chung MTR line. but when you see the view it's a good place to escape from the busy town in HK. it's a nice place to stay and relax with the view of silvermine bay beach and sand that can make our eyes become bright. also have the good hiking trail and a place to admire.
Hotel Feature Tip : To go to town you can take the 3M bus with the schedule on the silvermine ferry pier. the bus will take you to MTR tung chung station.

Hotel easy to find not far from the pier if you have not heavy luggage. rent a bike to go around recommended.
Beautiful sea view but no balcony and horrible tinted glass.
its location is a plus - right beside the beach, but the window glass are tinted so you always feel the time is in the afternoon which is a shame. room size are reasonable but need maintenance. the hotel is being renovated at the moment so smell of paint and debris inevitable.

Lovely location, friendly and helpful staff
The breakfast buffet was not quite up to scratch
We can heartily recommend the Silvermine Beach Hotel for its old-world charm, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the fabulous location, right on the beach. It is particularly family-friendly, with a relaxed and easy going atmosphere which suits the surroundings perfectly. A special treat was being able to walk straight out of the hotel, along the beach and directly into the hills of Lantau.

the silvermine bay hotel is located right on the bay, although the beach area is wuite small. it is a pleasant enough stroll to the ferry terminal area but this isn't a lively place! The hotel staff were friendly and the breakfast buffet was great but the hotel itself is looking old, tired and shabby. There are renovations going on but as they stand currently, the rooms aren't worth the price.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The ferry from mui wo (silvermine) to central gives a great view of hong kong island

Under renovation in parts.
Great hotel in an area of Hong Kong as it used to be and should be. Not a high-rise or shop in sight!
Rent a cycle and explore the area. The restaurants near the pier are good too. Hotel is comfortable with good pool. Restaurant seems expensive, have not tried it except for breakfast which is not bad.

The beach location allows beautiful views to Hong Kong and morning paddles in the sea. The pool is excellent and secluded round the back in the landscaping.
The current renovations cause noise and dust. The breakfast should include yoghurt on Sundays.
Being located on Lantau the Hotel is about 1/2 hour on a ferry into Central. This could be considered an advantage if seclusion is required or as a disadvantage for the City Slicker! The facilities include a good pool and small gym along with an acceptable breakfast. The current renovations are a little troublesome though it appears that the beach side terrace will not be developed which is a shame as excellent view are available looking onto Aberdeen, Hong Kong. Value for money is acceptable and the rooms provide all the necessities and are clean.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Walk along the beach away from the ferry terminal and take the path over the hill to Discovery Bay for a more developed city and some excellent but pricey restaurants.

big, clean room, and a nice swimming pool.
The hotel is good, the service is good (except for wifi), the price is fine (for Hongkong, the price is a good one), but the location is poor. It's far from the city center and a metro station. Will take 45 min by bus (25hk$) from airport to hotel or 30 min by taxi (120 hk$) or 45 min by ferry from center ferry station(20-30HK$). The problem is bus/taxi goes around a mountain and easy to get car sick, the ferry only available every hour. But I have to say the beach is beatiful.
