The good thing is the price is worth visiting and the place is nice, the customer service of the hotel is also good. However, something should be improved include the variety of food in the breakfast buffet is not enough and the taste is not too good. Also, the TV sometime cannot connect for the local TV. In addition, a VCD/DVD service can add in order to have more entertainment

Very helpful and friendly staff, some rooms have great views.
scruffy dirty rooms, lack of some basic facilities.
The hotel is very run-down and in severe need of updating. Our room had a great view of the beach but felt very dirty after a long day travelling- this really didn't feel like a place where you would want to stay for more than 1 night. There is no lift here and if you are luky enough to have a sea view on one of the upper floors- you'll have to lug your bags up the stairs yourselves, only after buying yourself some water as this is not provided. The hotel is in a nice area, however, if you want to avoid the bustle of Hong Kong. This is quite a good place to see the sights on Lantau, such as the big buddha, cable car and waterfalls on the isalnd. Not reccommended if you are looking for proximity to the airport- this is still a 40 min taxi ride!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Head round to the ferry terminal for quick rides to Hong Kong island and buses all around Lantau Island.

The room was clean, and the price is fare.
The hotel was very good with its fair rate. It was surprising that part of the sea is viewable even in a garden view room. The service was good and the pool was nice. It's a pity that the gym room is still under repair for almost half year. I would revisit the place next time and recommend this to my friends.

swimming staff provide towels and u know if something happen to u in the beach, there's always lifeguard everywhere, good ambiance of the restaurant, friendliness of the staff, food great and affordable. near bus terminal and ferry, market and post office. very neat environment.
gym is under renovation. it says online, internet connection per day is HK$50 but i paid HK$100. radio is not working in the room.
very neat and affordable hotel away from the city. there's always lifeguard everywhere near the beach. staff are very friendly esp in the restaurant. food great and affordable. hotel is near the bus terminus and ferry, post office and market. got some insect bite from near the pool or beach. they gave me room near the stairs. reception should tell me abt it, but they always greet and very friendly.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : take 3m to go to tung cheung town center, abt 30mins travel from the hotel. u can also take cable to po lin monastery and its less than an hour travel. bring your mosquito net. water is not that clean in the beach.

good breakfast buffet included. new reasonable evening menu. beautiful beach view, friendly staff
some remodelling of the rooms was done last year such as filtering sun windows
hotel has no elevator for lugage. some updating is needed corridor carpet, room carpet
I have stayed at this hotel various times and plan to continue. There is a family atmosphere and a lot of the same people keep coming back. dining room terrace is on the beach. No cars allowed so the air is very clean. A good place to rest after a busy day in Hong Kong
Shopping Tip : there is minimal shopping on this part of lantau so it is better to stock up before taking the ferry. wonderfull walks around the hotel

Laid back and very quiet. Excellent staff and the food was good to. Nice pool in an out of the way spot.
Older with need of update. No elevator,No access to road for drop off or pick up,Out of the way so not really near downtown Hong Kong.
This is a good hotel with fantastic staff. The breakfast buffet was good but lunch and dinner can be pricey so do not eat in. The beach is nice to walk on in the evening but I would not swim in the water there. Very quiet at night and the ferry into central is pleasant and relaxing if you plan on going into Hong Kong. There are a number of trails to hike and you can buy your tickets for Disney world at the front desk.
Hotel Feature Tip : The Hotel has internet in the lounge and if using the ferry to go to Hong Kong buy the round trip ticket to save money.

easy to extend stay and make reservation. very friendly front desk staff and very accomodating. Rooms are very clean. beautifull view of the ocean. beach frontage.
some updating is needed and some arrangements could be made so customers do not have to cart the lugage from the ferry and then up the stairs to the rooms
I fell at home at this hotel. The staff is always the same and very friendly and accomodating. Despite terrible weather the atmosphere is always happy and interesting. in one word a good place to stay for short or long term
Nightlife Tip : there is no nightlife at mui wo, but the ferry to central runs pretty much all night

Good mix of customers, between business, long stay, overnighter and weekender. Very capable and friendly staff from the front desk to the chamber maids.
Arrival from the ferry is a little difficult. No cars allowed and no provision made for luggage handling.
This hotel is well worth the money in hong kong and right on the beach, the rooms are very cool and clean, the people are friendly. I definitely would recommend this hotel to families as well as business travelers.
Hotel Feature Tip : There is live jazz music in the internet cafe in the hotel on weekend night.

Nice location, friendly staff.
Nice pool and nearby seafood restaurants.
Near to the Port which connects to Central Pier in Downtown Hong Kong
Meals at the hotel expensive, rooms a little tired and dated. The area itself is off the beaten track.
A nice stay although I only stayed one night and wanted to be near the airport. Had to get up at 3.00am so didnt sleep that night. Nice restaurants nearby and friendly people. Town itself is nearby, nice Turkish restaurant there. Staff are friendly and I receicved a wake up call as requested. Hotel was a bit run down in places but at least the pool was open. Free internet in the lounge came in handy for airport bookings and checkin. A good location and easy to get to...buses run all night so easy and cheap connection to the airport. It cost only 32HKDollars which is £3.20 !! Taxi would have cost nearer to 200HKD. This is not what you would expect of Hong Kong...it felt more like a trip to Thailand.
Restaurant Tip : Nearby Turkish resaurant is very good and good value for money.

easy internet reservation, very reasonable prices include a good breakfast buffet. Very accomodating staff. Repairs are made instantly. A friendly place to stay. Pool is very clean.
a 15 minute walk from ferry with no arrangement for lugage pick up and stairs to go up to the rooms.
this hotel has so many returning guests, that after a while everybody knows each other. On the other hand tourists overnighting from the airport also find it very pleasant and hong kong weekenders full up the hotel just about every weekend. a very friendly and interesting place to stay
Restaurant Tip : weekend buffet has excellent seafood and a grand variety of etnic dishes

Thou the hotel is not a 5 star class, the receptionists are very accomodating & with a very reasonable price, breakfast is already included & the location is very peaceful & relaxing.
There's no elevator & the view from our room is not good. That's all.
All in all, our stay in silvermine hotel is good. We had an abundant breakfast everyday. As what i've said, the receptionists are friendly & accomodating, especially joyce. The location is near all types of transportation, so it's easy to go from one place to another. We'll surely recommend it to our friends & stay there again with our next visit in hong kong.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The location is near all types of transportation, so it's easy for sightseeing & shopping.

hotel staff is very helpful and pleasant. ideal location right on the beach. quiet neighbourhood at the edge of the Park
carpet and bathroom need updating. a snack bar would be nice and a free cart pick up from the ferry or where the taxis drop you off (no cars on that little island)
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : nice walks to the mountain and the park around the bay. Free internet in the bar. go visit the village and waterfall. nice trails

Very quiet place..Romantic and away from the Hong Kong with a helpful staff
Older and need of up dating with no elevator bathroom could be renovated
The hotel was a pleasent surprise.. The beach is nice but the water not very clean but in the end that did not matter as the pool was perfect. Breakfast was good and they kept it fresh but changing the buffet slightly each day. I wish internet was free but the price of the room was worth it. A walk away from ferry to central was a nice touch and the area is very quiet.
Travel tip : When taking the ferry over to Hong Kong Central buy a round trip ticket and save some money if your returning. It is a bit of a trip to the Airport so keep that mind when going to the airport and allow about 45 minutes travel time from Hotel to Airport and prebook the taxi or you could get the Bus from the bus depot right by the ferry departure area they leave every few hours and you would save some money.

good sea view, staff is polite
Agoda provide a low price but the hotel new wing is quite a new place and the facility there is enough.
Inside the hotel, the room is clean and the view is good, however, the gym room is under maintenance and there is no VCD or DVD service provided, it seems that the hotel should add this service and the price for the food is much higher than other shop

Not far from airport. Nice hotel.
If you have much baggage could be a problem since taxi cannot stop near the hotel; you need to walk about 250 meters to the entrance. The hotel staff will assist.
I needed a place to stay for the evening to catch a morning flight from HKG. Rather than stay in the airport or at very expensive airport hotels I looked for something I could afford on Lantau Island. This turned out to be a delightful hotel with a nice beach at a reasonable price. I wish I had more time to enjoy it. They also had good ferry service to Hong Kong but I didn't have time to try it out.
