good price hotel
staff were polite and courteous
7.7
reception staff were polite and courteous, always willing to offer help. restaurant services was great with delicious food. bar lounge at ground level was convenient as well. hotel is located just in front of beach and the pier, bus station, very near which made it very convenient to travel to places like disneyland, big buda and tai o,etc... if there's anything negative at all, it has to be the fact that the hotel room is very old and does not provide free wi-fi .
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
convenient to travel to places like disneyland, big Buda,360np and tai o,etc...

Beach resort not too far from the HK Central
Pleasant location, fantastic pool (when open)
7.3
The hotel. altghough recently renovated still includes signs of aging but provides rooms and services for guests in a fantastic location only 1/2 hr from Central HK.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Big Budda, the Long Ping 360 cable cars and many walks and villages are just a bus trip away. The hotel has maps and information as required.

Great Location. Hotel is a little old, but clean.
Great staff, very peaceful location, only 5 minutes walk from the Jetty Terminal.

We chose this hotel specifically to see Tian Tan (Big Buddha) and to be by the ocean. We were not disappointed with the location but the hotel was a lot older tha it looked in the photos. The bathroom was very small. However, the bed was comfortable enough and the room was clean (but the decor is very dated). Much cheaper than staying in Hong Kong Central or Kowloon, and very quiet, which was lovely.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
This is a great alternative to the 'busy' Hong Kong Central and Kowloon areas. Only a 30 minute ferry ride from "Central" in Hong Kong. Very good bus service (on time, clearly sign posted, very cheap) which takes you from the hotel to Tian Tan (Big Buddha), Tai O Fishing Village, Tung Chung (main city area) and the Hong Kong Airport.

Great Location

No elevator that I could find. Infrastructure was old and dirty - wallpaper pealing, paintwork shabby, carpets stained and dirty, furniture old and stained. Bedding was clean.

Good service but poor facilities
Nice staff, good smile, very helpful
4.3
I didn't expect the facilities of this hotel are so old and not clean enough. For the price, it's totally not worthwhile!

Great location on the bay
Its on the beach, has a great view and the staff are friendly and helpful
6.7
we had the older rooms facing the sea this time and would recommend these as the view is great. rooms are a little dated, but clean and well maintained. much larger than the normal hong kong hotel room. we have stayed in the newer rooms before and feel that the rooms with the view are better. good location to walk to ferry, buses, mui wo cafes, hills etc. the taxi ride from the airport is not too long or expensive.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
mui wo has a great more laid back atmosphere - its easy to walk up into the hills, or along the coast. catch a bus to cheung sha beach - its worth a visit.

Best location in HKG with beach frontage on Lantau
Location, local bus from airport, breakfast, friendly staff, room comfort (beds excellent)

we always try and stay here but hotel is often full. early checkin at 0730 was appreciated and unusual. upgraded room to seaview was excellent. buffet breakfast extensive and delicious. easy walking access to hkg ferry at mui wo, passing good local fishermen restaurants. no negatives at this hotel, we love it.
Restaurant Tip:
Eat at the fishermen's restaurants at Mui Wo ferry terminus. We often travel out from HKG just to eat the fresh seafood and local vege. Unadorned great food. Add on a bottle of TsingTao beer!

a very brief overnight stay en route from papua new guinea to vietnam. arrived in the night and left early morning- so not able to appreciate all the features of the hotel.
Travel tip:
takes about 45 minutes form the airport and travellers shold be informed of the approximate taxi fare. they should also be informed that the taxi drop off and pick up point is a short distance from the hotel itself - not a big issue for most people, but its good to be prepared- particulalry if arriving in the night.
