Great Value
Friendly and very helpful staff, wonderful sea view, a good base to visit the real Lantau

I stayed here for 2 nights with my elderly parents. It was great value for money and the staff were very helpful. We were also upgraded to a sea view which was wonderful. The breakfast was simple but adequate and having paid approximately HK dollars for each room per night, we had no complaints. This is not a luxurious hotel and the bathrooms are very late 70s, however it has charm and character.
Restaurant Tip:
There are some great restaurants nearby. We visited a particularly good Turkish one in Mui Wo itself and then there is also the Stoep with its beautiful views in Cheung Sha. The Gallery in Tong Fuk serves good barbeque food and there are many local restaurants serving a variety of dishes.

Rural area hotel but easy to get

first time coming, i wonder how would be the service like in this rural area hotel. and it was proved by the unavailibility of elevator/lift to get my luggage to the second floor. so i had to have an exercise lifting my 17-20kg luggage to the 2nd floor. such a hard exercise after 5-6 hours travel from indonesia. but after the first day i found out that the services in this hotel is quite good. and although its location is quite far away from the crowded city centre, the transportation system available near the hotel could take you to the city centre in no time. quite a good hotel for budget traveller like me. hehe...

i thought the hotel was close to the airport but it turned out to be quite some distance because there was originally a reasonably frequent direct bus going there but now only 1-1.5hr@ bus from airport to the hotel. so we ended up decide to take a bus to the town nearby and change to another bus (also 20min@).
the hotel is 10-15min walk from the bus stop, right at the seaside and i believe it will be wonderful especially during the summer. it is not for you if you come to hk for shopping or nightlife coz it's very far from town (2hrs away). but it's very ideal for getaway. the path by the sea from the bus stop to the hotel was very nice and relaxing. they have upgraded us to the new wing so the room was bigger (size of a suite).
recommended for relaxing family holiday if you prefer to take a break from the city life.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
It's close to the big Budda, the 360 Ngong Ping cable car and Mui Wo, the old Hong Kong style fishing village coz they are also near/ in the Lantau Island.

hotel is ok. location is great for travellers without small children but could be a hassle if you are travelling with kids as you have to take the ferry everyday to and from the pier near (read: around 10-15 minutes walk) the hotel.
going to disneyland is ok as from the hotel, we just had to take the bus to tung chung and ride the mtr from there... but going to the city, you have to hail the ferry everytime.
