Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

I was quite surprised at how nice the area was upon my arrival. I was looking for a place near the airport as I only had one night to stay and while it was about 30 minutes drive it was an easy place to get to with very little traffic. The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful lake and little shopping area. I would recommend this hotel to any traveler wishing to stay on the airport island in Hong Kong

A resort hotel with a fair price
Classy rooms and great breakfast

Great to stay on Lantau Island far away from the 'busy Hong Kong'. Here there is nature and quietness as you are living in a little village rather than the big city
If you want busy the ferry will take you there in 30 minutes

Stay there for 7 days and 6 nights which included buffet breakfasts. The hotel has no elevator(lift) so if you are traveling with a lot of luggage, make sure you are in shape because the hotel has no bellhop service. Only about 30 minutes away from Central Piers but the fast ferries' schedule is about every 30-40 minutes. Rooms are dated but roomy.

A decent hotel in a wonderful part of Hong kong
6.3
I stayed at the Silvermine Beach Hotel for one night, arrived pretty late after a taxi ride over from the airport. I couldnt have been more surprised with the area. Far from teh hustle and bustle of HK the Silvermine Bay area is a wonderful quiet escape. A beautiful little bay with some local seafood eateries and not many tourists at all. A lot of the seafront restaurants were closed down for winter, but it still had a charm and reminded me of other S.E. Asian holiday sites.
The room itself was acceptable for the price but was perhaps a little tired for people used to 4 star and above. Very quiet and laid back area.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Walking along the beach path and turning left after the school weekend camp takes you along a beautiful mountain track for about 2 km's. This gives you a glimpse of village life.

Cheap Rates, Poor standard
Decent Intenet, pleasant view of the Beach
2.3
Excluding the view on a pleasant day there is nothing positive to recall about this Hotel apart from the clean bed. The hotel is in a desperate state of repair. It is tired and worn.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Use the Bus to get a connection to the Hong Kong underground to get to the city and Island. Although it will probably take an hour to get to the city centre.

I chose this hotel for an overnight stay near the HKG airport due to its relatively low cost. However, when you consider the taxi cost and the time required (about 30 minutes), that advantage diminishes. I did stay at this hotel later in my Asia trip, when I was able to stay three nights, and the hotel became a much better deal.

We stayed here over the weekend (higher weekend rates because of the HK Chinese who coem for some rest to Mui Wo) and found it very relaxing in Mui Wo. The hotel is in need for an upkeep and the kitchen is rather minimalistic, at least Chinese cooks should not try to create western dishes. (Same applies vice versa!) We enjoyed the rest of the island, although Tai O is crowded after noontime. Friendly staff, but they make long, long hours!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Go to Tai O, 45minutes by bus line 1. Many tourists, but still quite authentic
