Not friendly staff reception.
nothing special... just standart hotel.

We were dissapointed with the staff performance when we check in at the reception. the GUY was not friendly with asking so many questions to causewaybay, at least we have to walk 15-20minutes, even if we'd like to get the MTR we also have to go to the times square which take times 15minutes.
to the Hongkong exhibition center we have to walk 30-35minutes.
so, my experience to this hotel was unsatisfied, and i think i might be think twice for staying to this hotel again.

We stayed at the Butterfly down the block on a previous vacation. The South Pacific looks more impressive on the outside but felt a bit old on the inside. The rooms are tired looking and are in need of an upgrade. however the location and the view are great, and the price is decent.

Shopping Tip:
near times squere, and near in the most crowded place in HONG KONG it names Causeway Bay this hotel are so perfect.

Good location for shopping

This is the second time that I am staying at the hotel. I was last here in 2007. Looks like the hotel has been refurbished. The hotel was well furnished and in good condition. I like the location. It is near to Times Square and also local market. The MTR is nearby but the walk to the trains is rather far.

The best thing about this hotel is the location, close to times square and the mtr station which makes sightseeing, shopping really convenience plus there is plenty of affordable restaurants (and really delicious food!) Around the hotel..in overall I am quite satisfied with the hotel, it's quite a small room but it has everything you need.

I had a fantastic stay at South Pacific Hotel. I was with my family and we had three rooms. It has a good location to the shopping area and to the traditional market. We are allowed to deposit our luggage at a cost HKD 10 per piece per day. Which is very cheap esp if you are considering to make another trip to china and will be departed back from HK back to your home country. At night, there is street hawkers seeling seafood.
One thing to note: there are a lot of dust balls under the bed :(
This hotel is suitable for shopping and sight seeing only as the room is very small. Not recommended for couples going for their honey moon
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The traditional market! The fruits are fresh and there's a famous bean curd store nearby the hotel!!

Good size hotel room but a long walk to MTR

i went with my family to hk in the last quarter of 2010 and stayed with south pacific hotel. hotel room is of a good size but the walk to the mtr station is extremely long. to take the mtr, we have to walk about 3-5mins to times square and from times square entrance through the mtr tunnel to the mtr station gate, it requires a 8-10min walk. so just be prepared if you have elderly or kids with you.
