Staying in HK

Good breakfast, efficient receptionm, good location
6.7
I Stayed in The South Pacific hotel on my recent trip to HK and found the following . The location was central and convinient, all the staff seemed friendly and eager to help in any event. The lobby was quit nice and the breakfast room was well appointed and served a good American style breakfast with plenty of choice and quality fresh food. The toilets were very nice!!! The rooms were a little disapointing being both small and a little drab but after the initial imopresion they were functional and comfortable so no real cpmplaints. Over all the experince was a pleasant one with a convinient position having a 7-11 oposite and a good cheap restaurant next to it. I would recomend it to others looking for somewhere not to expensive on HK island.
Restaurant Tip: great restaurant opposite, cant remember the name but it was next to the 7-11. simple but great value. Best ice tea I ever tasted!

Old Hotel

Old Hotel Internet is slow Internet is costly

First entered the lobby, I thought this is nice hotel. When I first get in the room, I was a bit disappointed as this is not what I imaged for. The room is old and lighting is not so good. The wireless internet connection is biggest disappointment. 3 hrs does not sufficient for business use as the connection is too slow. I spent 2 * 3hr-charge but were still not able to get all my email throught. The location is close to Time Square but this is difficult to carry the luggage walking to the hotel. suggest to take a taxi. not so expensive.
Shopping Tip: Time Square is nice place to shop

A quiet hotel in a noisy city

In Club Class — calm, discreet service, complimentary wifi and 'cocktails'... the separate sitting room and plenty of storage space.
8.7
An excellent hotel and probably the most quiet and good value in Hong Kong. Not a peep from any other room or from the corridor! And all that inspite of being in a somewhat noisy thoroughfare. We are within 5 minutes on foot of the lively Times Square, 5 from the tramway and 10 from Causeway bay MTR. There are many restaurants close by and a food market. The staff are mostly pleasant but sometimes need a ‘request’ to get moving. We have taken a small suite on 7th floor in club class with free wi-fi; we also have complimentary ‘cocktails’ from 6h30 to 8h30, although this turns out to be wine or beer and some uninspiring sandwiches and cakes. Our suite has no view but the bedroom and sitting room are carpeted with armchairs, safe, coffee table, desk and chair. The duvet covers and pillowcases are of the highest quality Egyptian cotton. The airconditioning is silent and efficient. There is a kettle, fridge and TV, and the bathroom is well-designed, boasting a wonderful Japanese style WC with electronic bidet functions. There is some irritating muzak in the reception area and breakfast lounge, but this is reasonably quiet. Breakfast quality is mainly good and varied, and the staff clear the tables very, (too) quickly! We will definitely return.
Travel tip: Try the Himalaya restaurant for excellent Nepalese (Indian) cuisine, just close to the Southorn Playground and the tramway.

A Towering Round Hotel in the Heart of the City

accommodating front desk & staff. modern hotel lobby. clean room. all rooms with city view. clean & modern toilet & bath. clean linens. good location.
8.3
After a tiring day of touring the city, this hotel is strategically located at the heart of causeway bay & wanchai for a well suited rest. A tram ride or taxi ride just right in front of the hotel. Walking distance to timesquare mtr station and wanchai ferry pier. I strongly recommend this hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: very near timesquare for shopping. double decker tram experince for just 2hkd to any station. @ night there's a street dining just beside the hotel.

Hard bed hotel

I have been two times in this hotel. The place is very nice in HK center. With the lovely doubledecktram you can go everywhere in an easy way. Shopping, drinking, dining area. Priceworth compared to simular hotels. Friendly staff.

The situation of the hotel is very convenient and the view spectacular. In the center, near various shopping malls, drinking and dining area. To move around in Hong Kong you can take any bus or taxi, but the doubledecktram is a fantastic experience everytime again. Since two years they changed the little bottles into a huge soapdispenser in the shower area. Unfortunately if you want to take a bath you need to buy bathfoam yourself. Also shampoo is'nt provided anymore by the hotel. This must be a moneysaving issue. Another issue are the beds. It was very hard and I was unable to get a decent sleep. I asked for four pillows and slept everyday on four pillows and two to sleep on. I advice the hotel to offer toppings for those who find the beds to hard. I read a lot about the bathroom, which couldn't be smaller, but it was clean and very practical. Nice hot shower. I can't complain about that. Also the hotel is priceworth for the provided room. Not to big but it's Hong Kong and that means bloody expensive buildingwise. The stay in the hotel is very nice. Staff is friendly and accurate, the building is silent. One can hear a neighboor door slam, but that's it. Overall I had a pleasant stay, minus the bed condition.
Restaurant Tip: DimSum

Pleasant Stay

Friendly staff, Accessible
7.7
Overall quite pleased with our stay in this hotel, friendly staff and easily accessible to the MTR, Times Square and Causeway Bay SOGO. The room although small but very cosy. The only con factor is that could hear renovation work going on (not sure if is ongoing in the hotel or nearby buildings), was not notified.
