Local life style fresh market and in short walks to
causeway shopping area
Room needs remodeling as carpets and wall paper need
attention. Drainage was slowly run-due to clogged
pipe
South Pacific Hotel is still my ideal location to stay in Hong Kong

locality. near times square n a short walk to causewaybay mtr station. lots of good food in the area.
some of the standard rooms are really getting abit worn n wanting of a sprucing up. price of the roms r not really value for money.
the hotel is located in a place where you will not expect to find a hotel and you may juz walk pass it without realizing. the staff is pretty professional though i think they mistook us for mainland folks all the time and always speak to us in mandarin and not with a very happy n freindly face. try speaking to them in english and see the difference!!!

Breakfast is the only thing in this hotel for me. On the other hand reception manager are so polite and gracious. The rest was very boring end unhappy for me.
Location is very bad. Hotel is very far to MTR (underground) station and I had to walk at least to reach to MTR station. The way to MTR station was so complex and dirty going trough very narrow crowded and deserted streets. There is no place for pedestrians to walk along the streets. On the other hand rooms are not clean and needs rennovation urgently. I could not find any place to eat my dinner around. Because I am Muslim and I need Halal food to eat. All of the restaurants around the hotel even if 1 km away do not serve any food for Muslim people. This is the worst thign for me. I went to Tsim Shat Sui to have my lunch and dinner.
I never stay in this hotel any more even if they offer me very attractive and discounted price.

Proximity to shopping and eating. Location is at hub of HK Island. Airport shuttle picks up from hotel. Airport Bus stops 2 blocks away from Hotel on incoming journey. Hotel room was clean and spacious. Hotel has many lifts so minimum waiting times. Customer Service was very friendly and helpful. Price was discounted so was value for money.
Experience at this hotel was all good. Have been to this hotel many times over the years and have always received good service. The hotel is clean with spacious rooms and location is close to all of the shopping and eating places at the centre of Hong Kong Island. The Hotel is close to all transport - tram, metro, bus, ferry - so is very convenient.
Price was discounted this time, so was value for money.

Location, service, clean and modern room
price, and no free internet
The South Pacific Hotel was in an excellent location. It was a 5 minute walk to Time Square and many nice restaurants and shops. It was also a 5 minute walk to the nearest subway station. The area was nice and the hotel gave excellent service. They were able to give directions to many local shops. The room was clean and modern but a bit small. The selection of English television channels was excellent. I would stay here again but the price was a bit high.

location is great, we feel that it is close to subway.
it was not that clean, I don't think that they housekeeping vacuum the floor.
Other than the cleanliness I use to stay in other hotel such as The Charter house where the price is the same. But the clealiness of the charter house is much better. I feel that the hotel want to save up many cost such as shampoo, soap, cotton bud. Anyhow overall I feel that is alright. The service is nice.
Restaurant Tip : there is a market close to hotel where you can buy cheap and local food there.

It is close to central district and very close to Time square - shopping destination
Metro subway is 10-15 min walk from hotel.... Late evening (i.e. 10.00 pm onwards) most of the near-by shops close and there is nothing to eat nearby especially for the vegeterians
This hotel is close to market (Time square) and there are lot of options for shopping. The hotel is at the corner and taxi are available just outside the hotel.
There are lot of shops in near vasinity for eating, buying gift items, etc.
Do not expect big room and the size is just OK for a family of 2. With kids, the room is small.
The staff is quite helpful and it is value for money.
Non-smoker should only take non-smoking floors and there is a typical unpleasant smell in other floors.

Near the shopping area, just a couple minutes walk to Times Square & SOGO. Easy to fine food & drink.
After all, HK hotels are quite similar in room's size. Small & compact. The more important thing is the location that suits your activity. For Causeway Bay area, this hotel can be one of your choices. For single or couple traveller, you will like it. For family with some kids,,maybe it's a little bit too small.
Restaurant Tip : Just walk along, you'll fine some restaurants or food stall. Should pay for concierge if you leave luggages more than a day.

very convenient location in the hearth of the HK Island, cheap and nice hotel
very small bedrooms and bathrooms. Bedrooms are not as elegant as the common rooms of the hotels, personal not so gentle
well, for a short stay it is very good, a coupe of days. for more it`s hard to stay there since the view is not as much appealing and the bedroom/bathroom are really small
Hotel Feature Tip : Roof Bar/Breakfast/Internet/Magazine room with the view on the HK hills. very nice even at night.

In the heart of Wanchai, close to Causeway Bay
Single rooms have slightly small beds
The hotel is well located and is not expensive. Staff performance is excellent for what you need.
Times Square and the streets around Causeway Bay metro station are great shopping places. Do not forget SOGO, with more than 10 floors with all kinds of items.
Nightlife Tip : The red light district is near, just going to Wanchai metro station. It is full of pubs with life music such as Amazonia

Close to Shopping area of HK
Older rooms and small bathrooms
Having stayed at this hotel many times now, it has always been a very convenient hotel. Times Square shopping arcade is only across the back road and many restaurants in the Causeway Bay area. There is a very authentic Chinese market along the way to Times Square where there is the freshest of local fruit, vegetables and live seafood. It is also a short walk to Happy Valley racecourse which is a great night out normally on Wednesday nights. City Super supermarket has also very nice but expensive Japanese products and food. There is also a host of food outlets in the upper floors of Times Square. The only negative is that the bathroom is very very small. In general, nice hotel.

Good location for local restaurants, going to fruit market, and shopping at mall. 5-10 minute walk to the subways.
Staff speaks limited English. Poor ambience. We used the hotel as a homebase to explore HK.
We would probably stay at the hotel again because it was reasonably priced for the location. We also loved a restaurant a couple of blocks away for its chili crab dish. The hotel was generally close to the train and airport express stops. The staff had maps and some good ideas about where to go, but it took awhile to understand eachother as the staff spoke very limited English and we don't speak Chinese. If you have been to Hong Kong before (we had not) a good place to rest your bones, but probably not the best place to stay for a newbie.

A doorman who speaks English to help with cabs; good location and price. Next to local market.
The rooms are small with Double bed size, which means your feet hang over the end if you are more than 5 foot 10 inches (180 cm). Also, the tub is very deep and good for a float and soak if your are less than 150 cm tall.
The rooms are a bit small with only a double bed size. everything works and if something breaks down they fix-it immediately. The shower is very hot and strong, with a deep tub for a float and soak if you are very short. The rooms are quiet, clean and usually good air con. The staff is very helpful. The local market is just outside the door and very good.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Explore the local market just outside the hotel

good location in between Wan Chye and causebay MRT sation.
the room a bit small but is ok for the price
check in was very fast, less than 10 minutes. The room was very clean and air cond. was very cold. The tram is opposite the hotel, while further down toward right is Times square and Sogo.Beside the hotel is the wet market, and many shops, food stall.
Shopping Tip : if you are budget traveller, just stroll around shops near the hotel. No point going to Sogo and Times Square which only sell very high end goods.
