Stanford Hotel, Hong Kong

After days of searching for the hotel which will either "make or break" our Hong Kong Trip, we finally decided to stay at Stanford Hotel. Choosing Stanford Hotel definitely made our 1st trip to Hong Kong so pleasant. When we got there, check-in was quite simple and fast. When we got to our room, we were happy with it. It was clean and spacious compared to the other hotels that we searched through the internet. The bed was big and comfy and when put together can even accommodate 3 persons. There was a mini-refrigerator and plasma tv in our room. The bathroom was clean and had hot and cold water faucet and bathtub. There were 3 towels for each guest-one small (face towel), one medium and one large (bath towel). There was also complimentary shower cap, toilet paper and shampoo/soap. Unlike other hotel reviews, our bathtub was working properly and did not clog at all during our entire stay. On our 1st day/night at Stanford, we were already pleased with the hotel. The next day, we were even more pleased as we were surprised that they clean-up/make-up the room every day! They replace your towels with new ones(Yes, all three) and supply you with new toilet papers. We were so pleased with our decision to stay at Stanford. We didn’t even spend a big fortune to be comfortable in our hotel room! The location was great also! Nearby the hotel are restaurants (noth expensive and cheap) and boutiques. There is also a 7/11 near the hotel. MTR is relatively near. It is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. You won’t actually feel that it is a 5 minute walk since you’ll be entertained with all the shops you will pass by. Believe me, it was a very good stay at Stanford Hotel. Will definitely stay at this hotel when I go back to Hong Kong!

This is a hotel I will always stay in and recommend to all my friends whenever they visit Hong Kong. No one has ever disagreed it's a great choice... Simply great value for money. The cleanliness and service standards are great for a hotel at that price category. The smoking rooms are really odour free, unlike so many other similarly priced accomodations that reek of smoke even though they tell u it's a non-smoking room. The beds are firm, the toilet is in good condition. The proximity to shopping, to food, to the MTR all adds up to a great stay. It's a dream for any foodie or shopaholic who wants to be in the middle of action at anytime of the day.

This is a good centrally located hotel in Mongkok,HK. Very close to the Ladies Street, train station as well as the Nathan Road for shopping. If you like to explore the computer stores and electronic outlets, a short walking distance to the Mongkok Computer Centre at Nelson Street. Enjoying the HK style meals is also possible as there are many restaurants around the corner.

We were very happy with the staff who were friendly and very helpful. However, we found the room really small, we had 3 ppl in a room. Even with 2, it was very tight but we were given a corner room which was excellent. Had a good view of the main road which was excellent. The location was very close to the ladies market and was walking distance to all the attractions in Kowloon eg jade market, goldfish street, flower market and men's street. Ideal if you want to shop. However, the distance to the MRT was abt 10 mins walk and the exit was not elderly/disable friendly. ALl in all a good expeience and would stay there again but not with 3 ppl in a room or with family

location is good, many shops and restaurants near by the hotel, a 5-10min walking distance to MTR train station. room is clean and neat, the mattress is quite comfortable, but the pillow is too soft which cause me stiff neck. toilet is clean and dry, water heater is consistent. safe box is not available in each room, my room have but my friend's room at another level don't have.

Room is clean and newly renovated. Theres a plasma tv in every room, though the chanels lack variety.Basic facilities are all there and the location is great! However, room is pretty small, but I guess its the same everywhere in HK. The hotel is near to fa yuen street and ladies street is just around the corner. Hence, its great for shopping and theres lots of eating joints around the area as well.

The hotel is suited in a very convenient location. The walk to shopping and food is easy at any time of day. The food around the hotel was great and available even at early hours of the morning. The room was very neat, clean and comfortable. The size of the room is small but having stayed in other hotels in HK I'm guessing the size is quite standard. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for convience, a great location without too much frills.

This Hotel is convenient to first timer. Only 5-7 minutes walk to MTRs (Mong Kok & Yau Ma Tei). Near to shopping area (Ladies Street). Room is clean and comfortable. Coffee shop within walking is opened until midnight. I don't mind to come back and stay in this Hotel in future. The only comment is the room is little bit small.

value for money, great location, near to shopping area (ladies market, gadgets and electronics shops), near to authentic and affordable chinese restaurants its worth coming back in this hotel. i would definitely recommend the hotel because of its location though the room is quite small. Also, near to the MTR and bus stops. Great location! That's the bottomline! Best place if you want shopping.

The hotel's strategic location allows walking distance to busy streets, day and night. The rate is reasonable for nice and clean room. Sufficient amenities are provided for a comfortable stay. Though limited on facilities, guests have plenty of options for food, entertainment, etc at nearby surroundings. Overall, a recommended place to be considered for mid-range budget travellers.

Good location and hotel service is professional

The overall stay is quite pleasant depite the small room size. Reception service is moderate. The hotel does not provide complementary late check out, instead a fee will be charged with every hour extension. This makes it unfriendly. Housekeeping service is also lousy. I found strand of hair on the toilet seat upon check in! Can't imagine that!

Stanford hotel is quite a nice hotel, it's clean, very convenient, near Kowloon airport express (around 15 minutes by car), nearby have a lot of shopping area and restaurant especially if you are looking at the ladies road night market, around 10 minutes walk to nearest MTR station, room rate is reasonable. The only negative I can think of is the room is quite small, but if you're just staying for a few nights that won't be a big problem. So overall, if you're looking at Mongkok area, I would certainly recommend this Hotel especially for a quick business trip at a reasonable price.

I won't come back to this hotel in my future vacation to Hong Kong.

The Stanford is a value for money hotel. It is just 10min walk away from Mongkok MTR and along the way there are many shops and eateries. The walk to the train station is never too boring. The room is warm and cosy and has all the basic necessities. Overall, the stay there has been a good experience.
