Low cost, good location, friendly staff.

No free Internet access as claimed on Agoda webpage. Facility is old, wash basin and toilet drain very slow. No power outlet in bathroom. Only 1 power outlet in whole room. No heating in winter.

Cost and location is the best asset for this hotel. While it lacks free Internet access, it is very close to the public library which offers free Internet access. The rooms are clean, but the plumbing is old and drain very slowly. Not a place for cold winter days because it doesn't have central heating. Each room has its own air conditioning unit, so it's OK for late spring, Summer and early Fall. There is only one power outlet in the room, if you need to blow dry your hair or have a electric razor, you are out of luck. Hope you have your own mirror because there isn't one on the wall where the power outlet is located. Street noise does come through the single pane windows, so don't expect to sleep in once the street activities pick up.

location

This is a good hotel for small budget. The room clean enough but the lifts are very small and quite slow. If you and your friends booked different room type, you have to use different lift. The hotel has 2 lifts, one for a guest who book superior room and another one for a guest who book deluxe room. It's quite complicated to find the hotel entrance. You can see the hotel from the main road but you have to walk up to the hill so, it might not convenience for traveler who has big or lots suitcase. Hotel staff is ok, not friendly but not rude. For the hotel room,it's quite big if you compare to most of the hotel in Hong Kong. In the room,it has working desk, closet,t.v.,hot pot. For anyone who want to use internet, you can go to the library next door and it's free! We asked the hotel staff who work night shift about taxi to the airport, they said they can call a taxi for you but on the day that we left, hotel staff who work at day time, they told us to call the taxi by our self. Overall, This is good enough if compare from what you pay.

Reasonably priced, very clean

Although its within walking distance, but its quite a distance to the MRT.

The stay at YWCA - Anne Black guest house at Waterloo Road was quite a pleasant one. The reception area was nicely done up and exceeded expectations for an inexpensive hotel. The check in process was also pleasant and the receptionist was courteous. The room itself was simple but clean (to the point that the flooring under the bed was also clean without dirt, hence providing value for money, as most time was spent touring the city, not in the room. Only complain is that although its within walking distance to the MRT, its quite a distance still considering if one is carrying a couple of luggages.

very cheap, clean, near MTR

small room but ofcourse, it's hongkong... expected.

At first, I was scared because I do not know Agoda, and I am not sure if the booking I made was true and valid because it is cheap as compared to other sites. But then when we checked in for my friends, I am so happy that it is real. Well, it is good value for money already. Besides, hotel is just for sleeping when you visit hongkong. Location is good, it is near MTR. It is clean, but we did not try eating at the hotel.

It is good, near shop lots, near McDonalds, 7-eleven. The customer support is friendly.

Need to walk quite a long time from MRT to hotel, about 1KM or 20 minutes.

Basically, I'm satisfied with it. Their services, speaking is gently. Just the toilet windows a bit spoilt.

Quite good location, clean good restaurant.

Staff was bad in english, need renovation.

Anne Black is an old hotel that needs a renovation. Staff was ok but their english was poor and there is very little information at the reception. Breakfast was good and the restaurant was quite nice in the evening with nice staff and good food. The location is good and its close to markets and its good communication near hotel. Its an ok hotel but not more.

Courteous and efficient staff.

Slow to drain lavatory in my bathroom.

From a taxi driver who could barely speak English, it was a relief to check into a hotel with a friendly atmosphere. We were given maps and information on places to shop and visit. Our room was adequate and was cleaned daily by the housekeeper. The restaurant serves good food at a fair price. The night entertainment was good if you like karaoke. Location is only a few blocks away from a good electronics shops market. I'd stay here again and would recommend this place to my closest friends.

Shopping Tip : Bought a used HP laptop and a brand new cellphone for a steal at the electronics market.

Relatively inexpensive, good service.

Worn out furniture, small bathroom, room size seems smaller than advertised, feel more like a motel than hotel, only one key per room, key is old-fashioned.

When I made the reservation, the Internet site stated that YWCA is 3-star, and the picture looked alright. I was very disappointed when I got to the hotel. The corridor and the room were very run down. The elevator was tiny. Bathroom and elevator were tiny. There was only one old-fashioned key per room. On the day we left, we almost lost the key, and would have had to pay because the hotel would most likely had to change the lock. The hotel felt more like a motel, and I actually paid more for the YWCA room than another I stayed a week prior. All in all, service was adequate. The bed was relatively comfortable, and all the essentials were provided.

Shopping Tip : After you walk down the hill, turn right instead of left and you'll get to Waterlook road where there are shops and restaurants.

I say that the room is big enough in Hong Kong. It's clean and comfortable. Quiet at night!

All the equipments in the room seem old.

Generally speaking, I feel satisfied with the room of YWCA. The room is big enough, especially in Hong Kong. It's clean and comfortable, quiet at night which is very important. But the equipments in the room seem old. The traffic is convenient. It only take 10 min walking to Mangkok.

Clean & Simple

Not sure how to adjust the temperature of the aircon, a distance walk to the nearest MTR.

Cannot have high expectation. All necessities are equipped. Mattress a bit hard. Overall is fine for simple expectation. But the walk to MTR is kind of little far & the hill slope back to the hotel,if with full of shopping bags taking a cab is strongly encourage.

It is situated in a quiet residential area and only a few minutes away from Waterloo road. There are cabs constantly picking up and dropping off local residents and you would not have to wait a few minutes for one. You can also walk less than 5 minutes to the nearest bus stop or about 15 minutes to the nearest MTR station and the hastle and bystle area of Mong Kok

I found the elevators slow but a little patience solves anything. The air conditioner in our room was a little noisy when the ice built up. The ise then break up and falls somewhere whcih can be a little scary the first time you hear it.

Good value for money. To me, hotel rooms are only a place to clean up and sleep. This was more than adequately provided. It is in a quiet area and with very convenient access to all amenities. The area around Mong Kok is a very busy and crowded area, and if you don't like this kind of environment, this location may not be suitable for you
