Good for it's money
Economical, close to Mongkok
6
The Anne Black YWCA is located conveniently in Mongkok. The Mtr station is about 5 to 10 minutes walk. The hotel was more like a hostel but it was worth is money for it's location. The rooms are small and old but really can't complain much for it's low price. not bad for a day or two lay over in Hong Kong.

Shopping Tip:

Value for $ for family travellers
Hotel staff are caring, courteous and helpful.. Hotel is relatively clean and tidy.
7.7
A value for money hotel, especially for family holiday-makers - rooms are big and roomy and relatively clean. Would be great if amenities' shop is available within the hotel vincity. Would help travellers if more conspicuous sign to show hotel name is displayed. Great place for transit travellers or those seeking longer term of accomodation !

The Anne Black – YWCA Hotel Hong Kong
Good value for money.
Location.
Safe.
Clean.

Plain and simple. Don't stay here if you are on a romantic getaway with your loved one. Do stay here if you are just backpacking through Asia with your friends. It is a good location and if you plan to stay out most of the day, it won't make much of a difference that the room is quite small, the beds are hard and overall the place looks like a hospital. ;)
It is not good for families with children becuase the toilet is on the outside and it would be too much of a hassle to keep an eye on the kids every time they need to go to the loo.
The place is at a walking distance from Mong Kok station and Yau Ma Tei Station. Cheap shopping area, hair salons and restaurants can be found in this area. Cab fares to other places in Kowloon are quite cheap due to the central location of the hotel.
It is quite safe, there is a school in the building. The hotel restaurant is fairly good and reasonably priced. Room cleaning service is provided. Towels are changed regularly. There is a sink in the room which is quite helpful. There is also a TV (with one English channel), a bar fridge a small table and a desk. I stayed there with a friend and two of us shared a double room. The overall experience was ok. Staying at hostels is not my style but I was on a budget trip. Probably won't stay there again but I recommend it to anyone making a budget trip. =)
Restaurant Tip:
McDonalds (24 hrs), 7/11 (24 hrs), Guardian, Watsons, KFC, Burger King are all located nearby within walking distance.

good value
the room is big and clean

Location is not convenience. A long walk to the center of Mongkok. The airport express bus is far away from the hotel about 15 minuets. The room is big. The price is reasonable.

You get exactly what you expect for a budget hotel. It has the basic necessities; sink, tv with 2 English channels, two single beds, and a kettle. This hotel is nice if you are not looking for luxury. It provides a clean place to sleep. The rooms were very bright in the morning because the blinds did not block out the light and the noise was the street also made it difficult to sleep. I would stay there again if I was just looking for a place to sleep and not a place to relax on holiday.

Nice hotel with affordable rate
Stayed here 2nd times. Not really far from Mongkok area about 10 mins walk. Hotel room is clean even shared bath also clean. Room facility and amentity is like 2-3 stars hotel but cheaper cost. Staff friendly check in time can make it even earlier than 3-4 star hotel. I used to check in at 9 am one times

YWCA short time stay
clean room & bathroom, cheap
6.7
YWCA hotel in mongkok has clean and tidy room, shared bathroom, quite far from mongkok MTR station but closer to Mongkok east MTR station. it is pretty economic for people who like to stay for 2-3 days. We could see some of foreigners also stay there.
Shopping Tip:
it is pretty close to ladies night market and some electronics stores

A reliable place with a good basic standard of ser
The Anne Black has a great location, slightly off the beaten path but close enough to make walking brief distances seem refreshing. The rooms are immaculately clean and fresh. Staff are responsive and generally well trained. The Cheeer O Cafe, adjacent to the hotel's lobby has wi-fi and generally can be counted on for delivering a good breakfast (Western Style) at reasonable cost.
7.7
I've used the Anne Black now on at least 5 different occasions. I continue to believe that for price and a standard of cleanliness and safety it just impossible to beat here in the Hong Kong area.I also like it that the facility provides other services besides hotel accomodation. Many helpful classes are offered through Y teaching and training components.
