The hotel is very close to the night markets so that was good.

The distance from the mtr however is tremendous.

The hotel room is quite spacious, especially considering it's location. In addition, toiletries are provided and so is a safety box upon request. The hotel is quite close to the public lib, so if you don't want tp pay for using the hotel internet, you could go to the lib instead. One thing that was bad though,m was that the hotel did not seem able to help when we needed to get umbrellas. It was raining everyday and we couldn't get out for the first day only because we didn't have an umbrella and the hotel rfused to loan us one.

Internet access

I love staying in the Anne Black ! It is so convenient to take public transportation and as well the elegent environment . On Sunday , I can attend the congregation there - even I am only a visitor , I feel home with brothers and sisters in fellowship . Moreover , I can leave my luggages there temporary before I check in which is great and convenient !

Hotel Feature Tip : It must be great if you have free wirless internet access in your hotel

Central location, free upgrade, very clean and very safe

Bit far from the MTR, very expensive internet

The Anne Black was certainly a pleasant surprise at the start of my travelling experience. All my details (given through Agoda) were onhand when I arrived and I was allowed to check in early (around 10-11am) which was a huge relief. I seemed to be upgraded to a twin room despite thinking I'd only booked a single, and it was on the 17th floor with nice views. The rooms themselves were pristine, comfortable and a decent size with a fridge and TV. I felt instantly safe at this hotel, which is extremely important as a single female traveller. The only thing I didn't like was the internet charge (HK$40 for half an hour) and the walk from the MTR (about 15 minutes) though it's in a good location otherwise. Booking through Agoda saved me which was great. Highly recommended site and hotel.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Head to the 10,000 Buddhas - definitely worth the effort (and it does take a bit to walk up all those stairs!).

Rooms are cleaned up and they provide towels, toothbrush, shampoo and soaps daily.Checking in and out of the hotel was fast..All their staff were friendly and helpful.

Finding the hotel from the airport might be a hassle.Up and down slope outside the hotel entrance. No floor mat in our room.

The Anne Black is a mininalistic and budget hotel perfect for guests who intend to spend most of their time exploring the city attractions and shopping areas. It is definitely not an ideal accommodation for your honeymoon trip neither it is a luxury hotel for leisure.Being realistic for the price we paid via Agoda,The Anne Black is an adequate hotel which meets our basic needs. The two nearest Mtr stations are Mongkok and Mongkok east.By foot it will take 15-20 mins and 10-15mins relatively.FYI you can collect a map of the city at the lobby.

Shopping Tip : Check out Bute Street for some real bargains(About 10-15 mins walk from the hotel). They sell merely ladies' and children's Apparel.

value for money. The place is very nice. Staffs are friendly.

The hotel does not provide information which bus no guests must take to from one place to another. Moreover, in the review, they did not include what bus to take after dropping off from the shuttle airport.

The Anne Black Guest house did not fail me to my expectation. I, who have been to many countries, but this will be my first time to travel for leisure, and all i have are good words, both for the hotel and Agoda. As first time to travel to HKG for vacation, I was not sure of what best hotel to look for. But one of my friends suggested to look for the site of YWCA, which i did. so, The Anne Black guest house was on top of my list. Now, the very good thing is that my best friend found Agoda.com, and found out a lower rate, from what i thought initiatlly was a good price (surely, the own site is not giving the lowest rate). For obvious reasons, i booked the hotel with agoda. The next fear i had, were 2 things. One, will the hotel be really nice, because all of a sudden in another site there is a lower price. Second, or maybe the reason for a lower rate was they will give more extra charges, taxes, etc upon checking in. But good glory, Agoda.com and the Anne Black guest house were one of the pieces that completed my happiness in hongkong. Go for agoda!

Hotel Feature Tip : take the bus 7b if you do not want to take the taxi, it is 18HKG from mongkong station. But if you take the ferry and drop off in tsim sha tsui, and take bus 7b, u need not walk a long distance, and you can save the money and energy for your next day adventure. Take the shuttle airport bus to mongkok for 33 dollar HKG.

The room is very clean and facility is OK. All staff is very helpful.

The hotel place is a little bit far from MTR but we can walk from MTR MONGKOK EAST EXIT.

The room is very clean and facility is OK but it is a little bit small anyway I like it. All staff is very helpful to tell you everything if you want to know about the travelling. I love that because they can help you to get everywhere to visit shortly time. The restaurant is not have many food to choose but you can try.

Shopping Tip : You can walk to Temple Street Nightmarket and lady market to visit. It is very interesting to have a look and shopping.

Good size room.,adequate breakfast meal.,good location for my needs, favourable cost.

Needs a coat of paint, maybe a picture or two,new carpetting & mattress(in my room anyway)!

I caught the A21 bus from the airport to Nathan Rd & found the Hotel easy enough after a 15min. walk.Check in pleasant enough, top floor (20th.)room.Basic,kettle with a couple of glasses, not mugs, small fridge, enough coat-hangars for my needs. The bathroom was small but adequate & clean. The mattress was the big minus, lumpy with a big ridge running down the middle.Luckily it was a double bed & I was on my own,so could find a relatively smooth section.I just had breakfast in the Hotel, three choices, not great, but okay to kick off the day.Hotel located at top end of Kowloon,so good to stroll from there,up & down Nathan Rd & off the side streets.Top floor, but still quite noisy, especially when they started with road works.

Restaurant Tip : If you like McDonalds',there's one nearby & a selection of food & bakery shops.

The room is large at this level of price. The room service is fine. And facilities is also satisfiable.

The location is terrible. The room doors are not sound-proof. It's quite noisy if somebody talk in the aisle.

Very far from the MTR station. It takes at least 15 minutes from the Mong Kok station. The hotel is not easy to find. But the room is bigger than most hotels in Hong Kong at this level of price. The facilities and the service is also satisfiable. The reception is very friendly. The rooms are very close to each other. So if your neighbor is not quite considerate, it could be very noisy in the night.

Shopping Tip : On your way back to the hotel from the Mong Kok MTR station, there are a lot of shops along the street. You can find some good stuff with attractive price. It's full of surprises.

The hotel is clean and well maintained. Staff is good and speaks English.

Lift is small and have to wait for some time to get in. Quite a steep walk if you don;t use the public library escalator next door.

As a traveler who just wants a good night sleep and not really particular about carpets, bathtubs and minibars, this is one fits. Good price for a hotel well maintained and kept clean. You can tell the rooms have headboard and chairs rubs here and there, but the bath is clean, the pillows and sheets are clean, plus the beds are firm. So if you expect more, don't give this hotel negative feedback, its just about right.

Shopping Tip : Walking down the road is near the Mongkok shopping district.

Low cost, good location, friendly staff.

No free Internet access as claimed on Agoda webpage. Facility is old, wash basin and toilet drain very slow. No power outlet in bathroom. Only 1 power outlet in whole room. No heating in winter.

Cost and location is the best asset for this hotel. While it lacks free Internet access, it is very close to the public library which offers free Internet access. The rooms are clean, but the plumbing is old and drain very slowly. Not a place for cold winter days because it doesn't have central heating. Each room has its own air conditioning unit, so it's OK for late spring, Summer and early Fall. There is only one power outlet in the room, if you need to blow dry your hair or have a electric razor, you are out of luck. Hope you have your own mirror because there isn't one on the wall where the power outlet is located. Street noise does come through the single pane windows, so don't expect to sleep in once the street activities pick up.

This is a good hotel for small budget. The room clean enough but the lifts are very small and quite slow. If you and your friends booked different room type, you have to use different lift. The hotel has 2 lifts, one for a guest who book superior room and another one for a guest who book deluxe room. It's quite complicated to find the hotel entrance. You can see the hotel from the main road but you have to walk up to the hill so, it might not convenience for traveler who has big or lots suitcase. Hotel staff is ok, not friendly but not rude. For the hotel room,it's quite big if you compare to most of the hotel in Hong Kong. In the room,it has working desk, closet,t.v.,hot pot. For anyone who want to use internet, you can go to the library next door and it's free! We asked the hotel staff who work night shift about taxi to the airport, they said they can call a taxi for you but on the day that we left, hotel staff who work at day time, they told us to call the taxi by our self. Overall, This is good enough if compare from what you pay.

Reasonably priced, very clean

Although its within walking distance, but its quite a distance to the MRT.

The stay at YWCA - Anne Black guest house at Waterloo Road was quite a pleasant one. The reception area was nicely done up and exceeded expectations for an inexpensive hotel. The check in process was also pleasant and the receptionist was courteous. The room itself was simple but clean (to the point that the flooring under the bed was also clean without dirt, hence providing value for money, as most time was spent touring the city, not in the room. Only complain is that although its within walking distance to the MRT, its quite a distance still considering if one is carrying a couple of luggages.
