A good option for travelers on a budget

hong kong has become a very expensive city and it's hard to find decent accommodation without spending a lot of money. the ywca garden view hotel is not exactly cheap but it's good value for a reasonable price. the rooms are sterile but impeccably clean and modern, the service, though somewhat cold, is correct and the neighbourhood, in hong kong's mid-levels, is beautiful and quiet, but only a short taxi ride to the center of things. many of the rooms look out over the botanical gardens. the attached restaurant is only fair, the breakfast is adequate but that's all. all in all, it's a good choice for those who need or want to be in hong kong but don't have unlimited money to spend.

the hotel is clean and provide tea & coffee. hot water in the bathroom is comfortable, so we can take relax shower bath when we back from the shopping center. room space is enough for 2 ladies shopping 3 days in hk. but the location is a little bit far away.

Best budget place to stay in HK

This was my second stay here in Garden View. HK is expensive - but this hotel bucks the trend offering great value, good facilities, in an excellent location. For me this is the only place to stay in HK - other similar hotels are far too expensive, and the hostels in Kowloon (which are cheaper) are horrible in comparison! This place is close to the Peak Tram and the Park... nice, nice location!
Restaurant Tip:
Have tea and dim sum in the Tea Museum tea house in Hong Kong Park - it's lovely!

it is a nice hotel as with certain view located in the mid level of hk island and as money to value. but it is not a delux grade hotel and no hotel shuttle to mtr central station.
it is to us very convieniece to the cbd and other place with the bus, taxi and mass transit as transportation mean.
room amd bath room are generally clean. but need to note that the set up of the bath tub making cleansing at some location is difficult and therefore need improvement in monitoring the cleaningness standard can be achieved without difficulty.
hotel staff and reception is nice and charming.
i would prefer to stay in this hotel next time.
Travel tip:
There is a Supermarket next building to the hotel.
On the same building there is also a laundry service at the ground floor. This facility is very useful for a traveller.

The Garden View – YWCA Hotel

Nothing special for a reasonable price. We visited it in Feb/ So it was very cold in the room and the air conditioneer didnt work at all. Location is close to the famous mountain train station.
