This was a very pleasurable experience; a very reasonably priced, attractive, clean hotel in the mid level area of Hong Kong. Very accessible from airport (see below). Breakfast was a well stocked, diverse buffet of chinese and western foods. The restaurant was very reasonably priced, and food and service very good. Recommended for families, a large children's play ground is near to the hotel. Just around the corner is a convenience store, similar to a US 7-11, but much larger. The hotel is in hilly section of city, but taking a taxi to the MTR (underground rail system) Central or Admiralty station is usualy a $3 taxi ride. Taxis can be easily found passing the hotel entrance. Price of hotel easily compensates for this minor expense. Airport Express train stops at Central MTR and bags can be checked there for return to airport - a 25 minte journey.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Botanical Gardens just across street from hotel.

Overall, this is an excellent hotel with the price value. The room is very clean and tidy with nice view. It is convenient to supermarket that is at the next door in the same building. It is of some distance to subway station although walking to downtown is a nice activity. Very likely we will stay at this hotel when we come to Kong Kong next time.

THe hotel is well located with some rooms with panoramic views on HK Island. THere's not much hotel to offer such views for that price. Have to take a taxi to go there.

Bigger room than i'm used to , and newly refurbished. nly a 10 min walk through gardens to Lan Kwai FOng. Better than i expected for so little cash. And a supermarket directly underneath.

Overall, great value for money, especially if it has a pool (I never got to see it!). Next time... I would stay again.
Nightlife Tip:
A short 10 min walk to the drinking area of Lan Kwai Fong.

Making for a pleasant stay
Guest room assigned was very comfortable, clean and well maintained. All facilities were fully operational. Reception staff were pleasant, polite and helpful.

I had a heavy business schedule in Hong Kong, and was looking for some place where it's not too expensive, yet comfortable, conducive to rest, and relatively centrally located in the city. I was very pleased with my choice of The Garden View - YWCA. Will definitely be my choice when I revisit Hong Kong.

Great value for money stay in a good location. However hotel is located on a hilltop which is not within walking distance to any public transportation. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are not very friendly. Did not seem willing to help with guests' enquiries about sightseeing activities. Not proactive in coming up with alternative solutions to meet guests' requests.

this hotel has nice facilities. It has gym room but accessible by paying tickets.
Room is nice, clean, has large windows and some fresh drinks ( not included )
The hotel does not provide free breakfast.
Staff does not smile, does not say hello and refused to call a taxi at 7:00 PM while heavy rain outside.
hotel is located in the center of the Central district.
It is very close to the Peak Tram.
But you need to take a high road from the MTR station to go there.

This hotel is situated near the peak tram track route opposite the Botanical gardens. To get down town you can walk (if fit enough) however after a days walking you will definitely need a taxi to get back up the hill. It is well run and clean although to get to the closest convenience shops it is necessary to walk through the Botanical gardens to reach them. (about 1 KM) Recommend paying slightly more for a better location.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The Botanical gardens are a little refuge of nature in a very busy landscape.

Great Place to Stay
Newly renovated hotel centrally located in a upscale area of central HK not far from US and Britich Consulate. Easy access to MRT. Outstanding buffet breakfast in a very clean connecting restaurant.

This wsa my first stay at this hotel. I normally stay at a Marriott names hotel in JHK on Kowloon. I was very surprised when I arrived at the hote. The recption staff was courtous, efficient and processed my arrival quickly. On the way to my room I noticed that everything appeared to be new including the window coverings and carpet. On asking the front desk I was told then hotel had been recently renovated. The place is extremely clean and nice furnishings for a place not being a 5 star hotel. The brekfast buffet that was included in my room rate was excellent and once again the cafe was very clean. Even though the hotel has a paid internet connection, I signed on for wireless and soon discovered that there were many unsecured sights with good reception, so I never had to pay for internet during my 4 days stay. The hotel is close to Admiralty MTR by raxi for about $HK20 ($3.00) or by walking in about 20 minutes.
I was definitely recommend this hotel for the price of the room, the quality of the hotel; and the location.

Easy access to several malls within walking or short taxi trip

True Garden View in Hong Kong

For a fraction (ok, maybe 1/3 or 1/2) of what many hotels charge in this pricey city, you get a view over the green expanse of the Hong Kong Zoo and walking distance access to Central, Hollywood Road, Lan Kwai Fong, and Admiralty. And those are all downhill, so you do not have to work hard to get there. The aircon is quiet and keeps the room cool even while you are out, which you will appreciate after coming back drenched.
Shopping Tip:
Use the Park N Shop downstairs to grab tastier breakfast snacks to supplement the hotel's greasy and unappetizing spread.
