Localization, breakfast, clean.

No Wi-Fi in rooms, you need to pay for Internet cable.

Nice, clean, good located hotel. Rooms are big enough, bathrooms are spacious and clean. For this price is hard to find something better in Hong Kong. Very nice Breakfast - unfortunately serving only till 9.30. Problem with Internet access - You need to pay extra or go down to lobby/restaurant.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Very close (3 minutes by walk) to Peak train.

This was my second time to stay at this hotel. Probably we stay at this hotel next time. It goes without mentioning the reasonable price, this hotel meets your basic needs. If you love jogging in the morning, Bowen RD (stretched by 8km quite scenic!!) just up there. Very good location from Central -walking distance to SOHO, LKF.

Nice, big, clean rooms, friendly staff.

I bit difficult to get there

Every time when we go to Hong Kong we are staying in the Garden View – YWCA Hotel. The rooms are quite big for Hong Kong condition, and the most important the rooms are very clean. The staffs at the front desk are very friendly. The selection at the breakfast buffet is big and also tasty.

good breakfast courteous staff Close to Pacific centre

Does not have a airport shuttle services like many other hotels Located in bussiness area that is not ideal for non-offical holidays

Booking was easy and prompt. We booked the hotel with breakfast for a higher price but it was worth it. Our room was superior but a little cramped or smaller size. Nice distance to pacific centre thru Hong Kong park is a plus point. It is located in central Hong Kong but away from tourist places like Kowloon and market places. It could be an deal place to stay if airport shuttle is offered from this hotel

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : hotel booked a trip to China for us

reasonably priced. clean. helpful staff. everything fully functioning. good, quite location; you step out the front door into a calm residential neighbourhood, not onto a chaotic city street. within very easy walking distance of central, and soho nightlife, if thats your thing.

the name. and although this is obviously not the hotel's fault, there's not a huge choice of places to eat in the immediate area of the hotel.

ok, so its not the cosmo or one of these boutique hotels, but i totally recommend this place. basically i think the garden view is probably so reasonably priced because people are put-off by the name (I too was originally put off by the thought of staying in the Young Women's Christian Association), but its just a normal hotel, not some kind of youth hostel with forced prayer-sessions or something. Many people complain that the rooms are too small in the more reasonably-priced HK hotels, but this place was fine even on that front. although I havent stayed in any of the similiarly priced places such as bridal tea house, I'd be surprised if any of them are as pleasant to stay in as the garden view. seriously, nothing to complain about whatsoever. a pretty good breakfast included too.

Excellent location, good view, functional rooms, courteous staff, Next door Supermarket

No room service, restaurants close by 10pm, Card Key often misbehaves(this is true with other hotels as well)

We stayed for 5 nights at Garden View YWCA at Mcdonnel Street. Our stay was pleasnt and enjoyable. Rooms are renovated and functions. We were upgraded to delux room and enjoyed city view from the hotel. The staff was courteous, rooms well maintained. Having a supermarket next door was immencly helpful as we had 2 year baby tarvelling with us. Though they have Gym and Swimming pool, we didnt use the facilities. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for anyone who is seeking value for money.

Room was clean and the service was efficiency.

The salad (vegi) was very wet and I believed they could be drained more.

The waiters/waitresses should improve their English for the hotel has guests all over the world. Overall, the room rate we booked thru agoda were very very good and we should have NO complaints. The receptionists were very quick response when we told them the shower was not doing good and the housekeeping was also very prompt reponse.

Location, free internet.

Standard rooms are very small.

Hotel is very close to Knutsford Terrace, a strip of restaurants and bars at the top of the hill. The Std twin room we had was very small, just fitting 2 single/small double beds. There 2 free internet computers at the reception which was handy. Location is great, just a 5 minute walk to Nathan road and the MTR. Overall, ok value for money. No hotel restaurant, but plenty to choose from a short walk outside.

Good breakfast, nice swimming pool, computer access nice room

no view

The stay was incredibly reasonable and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. I wish the pool and computers had more flexible hours, but the room was fine and had a lot of options in additional ammeneties. A bit of a walk to Central and the Mid-levels escalator, but easy enough. Would stay here again.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Peak tram is nearby.

Cleanliness Modern amenities Great Shower Very helpful and interested counter staff

For the tariff payed in Australia , we felt that breakfast should have been included as it is in almost every other hotel across the world..very poor, we thought, and a bit mean. My wife had difficulty sleeping on the rock hard beds.

Good clean and modern accomodation, with an excellent taxi rank at the front . Staff went out of their way to assist with any enquiries. Close proximity to "The Peak" train makes for an interesting climb back up cardiac hill to the hotel. Can recommend but beware and make sure breakfast is included when booking.

Nightlife Tip : Nip across to the SOHO region for all night action..just superb and can be walked to if you are fit.

Heating function worked with the thermostat. Clean, good friendly security personals. pleasant surroundings, clean air and close to central, nice heated pool with friendly life guards, and good gym.

A bit dusty in the room, bathroom is really small, providing cheap ugly color mugs for coffee (not cup and saucer which i prefer), no complimentary bottled drinking water.

My wife and i arrived at 11.00 pm (late check-in), no bell personal around to help with luggages (we are at our 60s), there were 3 people in the front desks 2 male and one female staff were on duty, no help was offered. The quality of the breakfast was good, and we also tried the Chinese restaurant on the main floor for dinner, service and food were excellent and the price was reasonable. I will consider to stay there again if the price is right.

Travel tip : There is a cafeteria immediate next door which is for YWCA members and hotel guests are also welcome, it is kind of a fast food service, one can get a simple breakfast for HK$20, and a lunch for HK$35..excellent value.

i liked the very clean rooms and its facilities. the location was ideal for me and of course the price was very reasonable. It would have been nice to have a brochure of the hotel in the room. Everything else (TV, bath, bed etc.) was very good and i would certainly come again next time i am in Hog Kong.

Value for money and wonderful breakfast

Location

This is the first time I stay in HK island and Garden View YWCA didn't disappoint me. I got free room upgrade to superior room which is very new and also equipped with good hair dryer (very impotant for gal..hehe) The hotel voucher also comes with free breakfast. Not like other 3 stars hotel, the breakfast has high quality and I can say it's delicious. And there is good supermarket just 2 mins walk from hotel where you can do some grocery shopping. Consider to be very good value for money.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : It costs me only 30 HK dollars taking taxi from ferry terminal to hotel and if you have Octopus card, from Central MTR station, exit D1 at bus stop, pls take Bus No. 12A, it will send you to hotel :D

The location of the hotel was ideal. Situated between two fabulous parks, and within walking distance of the Central district, the Gardenview was a great place to stay. It is also worth mentioning for visitors from the Mainland, there's a fabulous supermarket only 2 minutes walk away, full of every western item you can dream of.

The room was small, but that seems to be the norm in HK.

The Gardenview is a perfect choice for those who have a small child. The location between two parks is ideal, with fantastic playgrounds within easy walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing a baby cot, late checkout and plug adaptor at no extra charge. The room was clean and light with nice modern furnishings. Breakfast was a satisfying buffet of hot and cold dishes. Overall our stay was great, and we'd happily stay there again.
