Nice location, quiet neighborhood above and away from the crowds and the congestion of Central, Causeway Bay and TST. Had a view of the peak---outstanding ! Near the Botannical Gardens

> Swimming pool closed indefinitely. > Refrigerator in room was never cold enough to chill beverages or keep food. > Internet connection was the worst I have ever encountered in HK---it reminded me of the poor internet in China or Indonesia. >Unable to get breakfast past 9:30am, hence they saved $$ but not collecting my three breakfast coupons > Extremely difficult to get a Taxi during the rain at their location > Location away from shopping, cafe shops, food outlets, etc.

Price was good, friendly hotel service. Location reasonable

Not really cons. Could not confirm a good view as others, since rear side....

Spent 3 days here as a couple. Combined trip (business and sightseeing in HKG). The location is about 1 ..1.5 km away from the Central station - and about 80 meters higher. There is a bus 12 A driving from sonewhere near station to the front of hotel. If you come first day, you need to find the bus.... maybe a bit difficult. Taxi took 22.5 HKD + 5 per luggage. Most raters complained the hill due to walking. OK, with luggage it is inconvenient, but normally OK. Issue is more to find a good way through the skyscrapers and road chaos of HKG... We walked up and down every day at least twice - a good exercise. Hotel close to the peak tram.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Parks (Zoo, botanical) nearby

Our trip to Beijing was a great adventure, and we were so pleased with our choice to stay in Crown Hotel. It was freezing in Beijing and it felt so good to stay in a comfortable, centered hotel with extra large beds, great breakfast, and friendly staff.

The room was small but really nice. -hotel rates are very reasonable

Down side - it's a killer of a hill to walk up - so taxi and save yourself a heart attack. Not many near by places to grab a bite to eat.

The room was small but really nice. Great view from window, good bed/lovely linen - just perfect for a traveller not spending alot of time in the room. Taxi's are cheap and WELL worth every penny. Hong Kong is a great city and being on the island is a little calmer than the Kowloon side. The down side - the hotel is way up a killer of a hill- so walking back to the hotel- especially after a day out may be a challenge. So, save yourself a heart attack and taxi once your back on the island. Also, no nearby eateries - so do your research before you're relly hungry. The Garden View rates are good.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : - botanical garden and avery - near by tram to take to the peak - a must - pacific coffee house - great coffee and yummy croisants

Location, food, friendliness.

Room can be a little more spatial - well this is Hong Kong...

First of all, very good services from the friendly staff. Food is great too - even the fast lunch tastes better than fast Chinese foodstores down the hill. Pretty handy location that is close to Hong Kong Park, Botanic Garden, the legendary China Bank Tower, and the MTR Central station. Will definitely have a stay there again next time visiting Hong Kong.

Hotel Feature Tip : Another thing - take a Taxi to the Airport Express at MTR Hong Kong Station costs only HKD$20 or so. Pretty handy if your luggage is not little.

Away from city(quiet), nice view in deluxe room.

breakfast is so so.

the hotel locate on middle of the mountain, therefore, provides great view, fresh air and quiet living environment, even with a park right next to it. However, there are not many shops around, its hard to get what you need at night, and its also some distance from the city. Overall, it is a great experience staying there.

Nice city view, clean.

A little bit far from MRT. No sound proof room.

When I arrived the hotel was about 4 p.m due to I walked from Central because I thought the hotel is near MRT. During the night stayed, there was a road construction working nearby, I heard the noise till mid night. Furthermore, I can even heard upstairs room sound when someone open the door. Not have a nice sweet dream on the night.

Great view over the city.

A little out of the way from everything. The room was freezing and the heating didn't work.

We stayed in the Garden View in January 09 for 5 nights. When we first went there in a cab we were quite worried about the location as its way way up this massive hill. But it didn't turn out that bad. In the mornings we walked down the hill to Central Station and at night we caught a cab which was on average about 20 HK dollars. It was quite cold in HK when we were there at about 14 degrees in the day, The first night we were very cold in the room and the heating just didn't work at all. The next day they gave us a heater that we could plug in and it was ok after that. The staff were friendly and helpful. We only had breakfast once and it was quite good, hot and fresh. The room itself was a little small. But we had a great view over the city that made up for it.

Restaurant Tip : If you do walk down the huge hill in the mornings to start your day there is a Cafe just a little bit of the way down on Garden Avenue which is handy if you don't have breakfast in the hotel. Nice place to stop and have a coffee and croissant .

The Gardenview hotel is situated in a lovely location beside the botanical gardens and zoo. I found the staff to be friendly and accomodating. Our room was very clean and had a great view.

The restaurant was closed but they didn't give any prior notification

Situated within 2 minutes walking distance to a Victoria Peak tram terminal and within walking distance to local shopping. Taxi's stop and wait for fares outside this hotel day and night and there was always one available when we stepped outside. When not using the Victoria Peak tram, I advise the use of taxi's as the hill is very steep and a bit of an epic climb in the heat.

quiet. very quiet.

on hill, too quiet

internet was expensive - $300 HK dollars for my four night stay and was so slow my skpye would not work. hotel is in a residential area - taxis for anything, or very steep climb up/down the hillside. rooms clean, nice staff - but will probably stay elsewhere next visit to HK

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : walk across to the zoological gardens - great birds

Nice size room, good shower and comfortable bed. Great location.

None

The hotel is in a great location and provided us with a comfortable stay during our last 3 days on hong kong island. The rooms are a good size along with a good shower as well as a very comfortable bed. Very close to areas such as Soho and Central. The service was good for a 3 star hotel and everything else was above average when compared to Europe.

Travel tip : We found the hotel to be very clean and have good sized rooms. The location was perfect for going out in the evening and also for sightseeing.

Has a restaurant

rooms are freezing 40 mins walk from the nearest station

The hotel is very conveniently located nearby the peak tram station. The rooms are kept clean. The food in the restaurant is of excellent quality. The rooms can be freezing in winter though. The remote of those airons just dont work. I had to to get the staff bring in a heater, which they thankfully readily did.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The peaktram station is just 10 mins walk from the hotel. The botanical garden is worth a peek as well.
