Harbour View Hotel Wanchai
- good location (near MTR Wanchai, Bars in Wanchai)
- clean
- good room size (for HK)
- quiet
7.7
A good hotel for people who want to save money. Staff were extremely helpful. The location is good, you are quickly in the Bar district of Wanchai or in the shopping district of Causeway Bay. The only thing I didn't like was the tiny bathroom, where only one person can stand. I think that breakfast was a little bit too expensive.
Nightlife Tip:
Wanchai Bar district

Very Satisfied
I was surprised at the size of the hotel room. For one person it was more than enough.
Cable television was provided (BBC news, National Geographic Channel etc).
The washroom was very clean and the shower had good water pressure.
The hotel staff was very friendly and always ready to answer the questions that I had. Local calls within hong kong are a mere 3 dollars which was helpful.
There were plug converters provided in the room for electronics products which was helpful
7.7
Overall I was very satisfied with the hotel. It is approximately a 10 minute walk from the closest MTR station, however, if you take the overhead walk ways it is a little bit closer.
The hotel was worth what I payed for it, and would definitely stay there again!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Although a 10 minute walk from the MTR station, it is located close to most attractions.

YMCA Harbour View
Great location, 5 min from star ferry and 5 min from wanchai bars/restaurant.
7.3
Ask for a habour view room, great view and location for value. Rooms are small but have all the required ammenities. Front desk and cleaning staff are all very friendly.
Skip over to the Grand Hyatt or Ranaissance for a nice cup of tea or light meal.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
walk towards wanchai station, about 5 minutes away and continue on to times square ... amazing shopping, plus loads of food/cafe options along the way.

Value for Money
good price, good service with attentive and service with a smile staff.
9.3
The size of the room is comfortable compared to some 5 stars hotels who charges a bomb for a smaller area size room. the service in this hotel is unusually good with very attentive and helpful staff. For the price they are charging and for the central location, it is a MUST CONSIDER hotel for your next trip to Hong Kong.

I have a week there in Hong Kong and I stayed in 3 different hotels. I feel that for the price I paid, I expect something the hotel provided more convenience to me, eg. shuttle bus, earlier hour for breakfast for tourist like me which has to rush to airport early in the morning, I didn't have time for my COMPLIMENTARY breakfast.. For me that is no longer COMPLIMENTARY anymore.. overall, it is ok if you have expectaion.. travellers on budget can try this hotel

Great Value for money!
Hassle free check in.
Good size rooms above the norm for same class by the local standards.
Late checkout no problem. Just request and no questions ask.

Location is about 7 mins walk to the WanChai MTR station. It is sheltered all the way from station till you reached the end of the overhead pedestrian bridge which connects to the Immigration building on the right and Central Plaza on the right. It will be a shorter distance to walk if you exit the overhead pedestrian bridge before these 2 buildings. There is a staircase on the right leading to street level. Make a U-turn at end of staircase and walk about 10 metres and on the left is an open space with WanChai Tower on the right. Walk diagonally across this open space, you will find an access to a main road where Shui On Building is on the left. The hotal is just situated adjacent to this building.
The front desk staff will efficient and checking in was a breeze. Of so many hotels of the same class in HK, the premier room which I have checked in was surprisingly spacious by the local standards. The layout was perfect with ample walkrobe space. Idea for those wishing to stay more than 1 day. The downside is I have a room that faces a wall notwithstanding I have requested for one with the harbour view. It does not commensurate with the hotel name. Checking out was swift too and our request for late checkout was accepted with no questions asked. We walk countless times to commute on the MTR within HK/Kowloon. Besides, there is always the need to switch lines at Admiralty Station in order to proceed to Kowloon. I am a seasoned traveller to Hong Kong. I recommed those who wants to commute on the MTR (which is the most convenient and cost effective mode in congested HK) to purchase the Airport Express Tourist Pass. Besides riding the airport express rail to the city, there is an option to purchase one with unlimited rides on the MTR for a specified duration. I purchase a 3 day pass. Great value for money. My stay in the hotel is more than pleasant and will definitely return again.
Shopping Tip:
Explore the shopping areas which locals frequent e.g. the fashion street at Sham Shui Po MTR Station. A bargain hunter dream to stretch your dollar. Tsim Sha Chui is touristy and expensive!

HarbourView Hotel Wanchai, HK
Cheap and close to Wanchai financial district.
4
I chose this hotel because it was cheap and close to the client I was visiting the following day but if I had to stay for a longer than one day, I would probably pick a more comfortable hotel and a location with restaurants and shops around. Rooms are basic but clean. Nothing fancy, it does the job for one night if in a rush.
