The harbourview is located in Wanchai, but a little bit away from where all the bars are which is nice. There are tons of restaurants around. Many rooms at the hotel were being redone while I stayed there, so I'm not sure what it would look like now. Some of the rooms in the hotel were very nice with an excellent view. However, others for the same price were smaller and only had a view of a wall. All the rooms were more than adequate though for a few nights' stay adn very comfortable.
Restaurant Tip:
Try the Mediterranea restaurant Olive up the escalators near Lan Kwi Fung. The food is fantastic.

Great hotel
Hotel was clean. Extremely friendly staff.

This hotel was a great place to stay. The view was excellent as you can see the sky line from your window at night time. The location was very convenient as well. We didn't eat at the hotel but they do serve food. Overall, I was very satisfied with the place and would come back again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
I recommend taking the tram to lantau island.

Harbourview Hong Kong
Clean, modern, very comfortable and a hidden gem of a hotel.
10
A thoroughly nice hotel. Courteous staff, clean, spacious rooms compared with other HK hotels and a pleasant restaurant with varied and good food. A hotel I will certainly revisit when next in Hong Kong. Specify a harbour view room as the view is stunning.
Restaurant Tip:
Easy walking distance from many restaurants and shopping district (Hennessy and Lockhart roads).

Best kept secret
views, cleanliness, location, convenience
8.7
Stayed in March 09. I got a very good rate on an advance booking, sent follow-up email to which I received a prompt and courteous reply. Clean room, size is OK, everything was functional and working, had a room on 17th floor with good views. Next to no noise from the ongoing renovation (neither heard nor saw it). Polite but not especially friendly staff, not up to hospitality standards (for example: no porter to do rooming). Great location to Wanchai and all public transport. Would recommend it to anyone.
Travel tip:
Wanchai nightlife, dining, public transport (MRT)

Disappointed and Shocked!!
Location close to Wanchai entertainment area where bars and restaurants are located.
5.3
The hotel was undergoing some renovations when we stayed, but it didn't disturb us too much. The staff are rude and arrogant, even at checkin. We had a most unpleasant experience on our 5th night at the hotel (we stayed for 8 nights). My Thai wife was asked for her ID when we entered the lobby. I was shocked as she checked in with me 5 days prior, had been in and out of the hotel and they knew of her presence. totally unacceptable to have a 4 star hotel staffed by unprofessional, bigoted staff!

2 days 2 nights
Location - it was right in the heart of wan chai.
7.3
The Staff were friendly and the room and Bed were comfortable. I thought the Restaurant was quite expensive compared to what you could get on the street. The room was very clean. It was short walk to the night life and toursit spots and a short taxi to the train station.

Habourview Hotel - Hong Kong Island
Proximity to the Habourside Convention Centre. At the centre of Wan Chai, the late night trading district so was safe to stay out late at night. Food stores open til early hours nearby to hotel - we arrived at the hotel after 12am and found a Noodle Store open when we went out after 1am.
Free Airport Shuttle stops at the nearby Convention centre approximately 2mins walking distance away. Rooms were clean and well-serviced.
7.7
This was our second visit to this hotel but the first experience was too long ago for comparison.
The rooms in this hotel are much smaller than other hotels we have visited which are priced at the same range.
The hotel is very close to the Habourside Convention Centre so is convenient for travellers wanting to visit there.
As the hotel is located in the Wan Chai District, it is close to night clubs and eating places that trade til the early hours.

when i arrived in HK on February 13, 2009 i don't have a map to get to the harbourview hotel, we just know that the harbourview is next to the HK convention & exhibition center... so we spent quite a long time to get to the hotel. After we know the hotel location we were suprised coz the hotel isn't too far from MTR. You just have to exit @ A5 and cross the bridge then you enter a place, called central plaza...go to the left side and go down by the escalator...when you out from central plaza you just have to turn left and go straight...5 minutes walking you'll see the harbourview hotel... it's very easy to find finally!! at last, we really enjoyed our stayed @ the harbourview hotel. The hotel is very nice!! We'll stay there again if we visiting HK...
