Clean room
Price, location and cleanliness
6.7
Two things that made the stay flawed (though not the fault of the hotel):
1. the construction happening in the middle of the night.
2. When checking-out, it was raining dogs and cats and the staff told us it's impossible to get a taxi to the hotel to pick us up because it was too short a distance to the Hong Kong Station. We had to walk quite some to get the taxi ourselves.

Good price, but 15-20 away from Causeway Station.
Great price. Close to restaurants. Quiet Room.

Good price. However, you get what you paid for.
1. Staff were chatting while checking me in.
2. Elevator was not working. The elevator stopped at a random floor and its door couldn't closed. I had to take a scary stairway to the lobby.
3. Bad wifi on 9th floor. It was VERY difficult to detect the wifi signal.
4. It is relatively far away from the metro compared to the other hotels I've stayed at (Butterfly Causeway for example). It takes 15 mins walking from the hotel to Causeway metro (not to mention there is more walking from Exit A to the gate).
I wouldn't stay at this hotel again due to its location even though the price is competitive.

Good value hotel with 4 star for budget price
Large rooms, large window, near to some shopping mals

Helpful staff, easy check in, room was upgraded and quite large, nice window with view to the horse race track, unfortunately the highway is very near an the room was not quite... Fast check out in the morning, overall nice stay, slightly away from the center in a larger hotel room with window for a reasonable price.

Was nicer than expected.
Not far from the station, several local restaurants around the hotel
6.7
The room was with a bath tab, but there was no shower curtain, so after taking shower, the floor was all wet... Except for that, the surrounding of the hotel is not bad, not far from local restaurants, there are several convenience stores. Good location!

Value for money
Conveniently located on Hong Kong island, Reasonably-sized room, Value for Money
8.3
Comfortable stay at The VELA. It has the best value-for-money propositions among all the hotels on Hong Kong Island.
Suitable for travellers who want a hotel with clean, reasonably-sized room with convenient location.
The VELA is located 5-10 minutes walk away from the Causeway Bay MTR. Alternatively, taking a cab outside the Times Square taxi station costs you HKD 20 or 3-5 minutes away.
This is my second stay in the hotel. Thumbs up to the hotel, this time I am allocated a room facing the famous Horse Race "stadium", which I like very much as the sun shines through in the morning from the big window.

2.7
I'm check in at night in this hotel. We have a lot of luggage to carried, but no one help us in this hotel. The room & bathroom is very horrible. The matress is very hard, smells not good in the room. You must think again when you decide to stay in this hotel.

Generally comfortable
Walking distance to the shopping areas, room clean and the water pressure in the bathroom was good.
4.3
The room and vicinity of the hotel was good except for the staffs, were not friendly and helpful. They served without a smile and they look irritated when we seek help or information as to how to get around to the place of interest from the hotel. There is no warmth in their service. The partition of the room was not sound proof and therefore could hear the next hotel guests talking and running of water in the bathrooms in the middle of the night.
