Excellent location and good clean rooms
Location, cleanliness and size of rooms (for HK hotels)
Comfortable stay and excellent location. The room was clean and a good size. Sound-proofing is horrible though - we could hear the shower and tv next door, footsteps from the floor above and conversations in the corridor.

Good location but hotel is old
Good location, near MTR and same row with pubs
Average. Expected much better. Room given was old. Plus point is near MTR and close to some famous local food outlets. Too many hanky panky pubs around, hence not so nice with family travelling with young children.

Not too bad
It is near to the MTR station so that make travelling easy. Can walk to the Star Ferry terminal too. Fast wifi network within the room.
The overall experience at the hotel was not bad but as it is located quite near the pubs, it may not be suitable for families with young kids.

Comfortable biz hotel in strategic location
Unlimited taxis waiting for you, plenty of HK local delicacies, which include Michellin Stars local restaurants within walking distance, comfortable hotel / room in a very convenient location
I have stayed in this hotel many times. Wan Chai is a place that have been neglected by both locals & foreigners for ages. Too much lime lights have been given to Causewaybay, Central, Tsim Tsa Tsui, Kowloon...etc. If you are a person who need a quiet, clean & comfy room after more than 10 hours of shopping / working, and you can ignore the bar girls & the tempting massage parlours / night clubs advertisement within the vicinity of your hotel, then this is the excellent hotel for you. You will get the best return on investment (ROI)from staying in Wharney Guan Dong Hotel. Wan Chai is easy assessable to everywhere. There are so many transport options for you - taxis, buses, airport shuttles, MRT.....less than 5 min walking distance. It is not easy to find similar hotel with similar criteria + similar pricing.

Weekend visits
Location, price, location
The Warney is situated in the heart of the Wanchai District. It is close to the Wanchai Ferry and the MTR. You are 5 minutes walk away from the Hong Kong Centre for Performing Arts Lyric Theatre and one stop on the MTR will take you to Causeway Bay and Times Square Mall, while Admiralty and Pacific Place are one stop in the opposite direction. Plenty of any type of clubs or bars are just outside the front door. There is a excellent bar in the basement of the Warney called the "Canny Man" if you are interested in watching rugby in a comfortable surrounds without other "distractions". They also provided excellent haggis and full English Breakfasts.

Ok value for city of expensive hotels
Location location and still location
The hotel caters to a lot of tourists arriving in tour buses. The tiny elevators were constantly full during peak hours and the wait could be long. Don't expect much from hotel staff although I have seen much worse in surly and impolite Hong Kong. This is the land where the basic Thank You and Excuse Me are dispensable. Seedy night clubs lined the street leading up to the hotel but also quite a few decent restaurants.
