The rooms were small but that is pretty typical of Hong Kong. The hotel is a little older and could use some redecorating but overall it was clean, the location was great and it was a good place to stay for the money.
Nightlife Tip:
Its right in the heart of Wan Chai. Right outside the front door of the hotel are a multitude of bars, restaurants and fun places to stop for a drink.

Hotel is very well located within HK. Is located in a somewhat "adult" entertainment district, maybe less desrirable for children. Hotel is modern and very well presented with all required facilities. Rooms are a good size and comfortable. service is good.
Nightlife Tip:
Within the "Lockhart Road" entertainment District. Many restaurants, bars, nightclubs. Great locale for those wanting to be able to walk home with a minimum of fuss.

from the free shuttle from central mtr to the prompt and helpful staff this was a good choice. i had no problems extending my layover for an extra 6 hours. the room, with all its amenities (safe, fridge, iron/board slippers etc) was large and comfortable and the bathroom with amenities was also very satisfactory.
location is excellent for shopping and the local wanchi nightlife. equi-distant from wanchi and admiralty mtr stations
9 out of 10 and will be staying there next trip.

i only stayed for a long weekend, 3 nights but the hotel was very convenient for everything i needed. it's a 10 min walk to the mtr which takes you to causeway bay for shopping and central for shopping, ifc and airport express. it is a lively street with lots of bars and restaurants. only thing is, it is located in the red light district so the streets are a bit dirty, bars are hopping at 10am with ladies 'working' on the street. there is a great breakfast place just a few doors down call the flying pan on the 3rd level of 81-85 lockhart st. the rooms were small but efficient and had everything you needed. the shower had great water pressure but the cable tv was limited in english channels. it was a busy hotel and there was always something going on. overall, my stay was satisfactory and i would most likely stay there again.

i absolutely enjoyed my stay at the the wharney guang dong! the location was perfect. i could easily get around town from the hotel's location. the staff was very helpful and assisted me in any way necessary. the appearance of the rooms were very nice and the staff maintained the rooms well.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody traveling through Hong Kong! The service is friendly and the rooms are nice. They are not the biggest rooms but they are very accommodating and you will absolutely enjoy your stay there!

The hotel is in a busy street and I heard there might be some repair work going on. During my stay I did not notice any disturbance and was quite happy with my room which was quite and peasefull. The internet conection worked well. I would have liked tohave more channels on the TV and a larger selection of movies. I had once breakfast in the room and found that a better table was needed to enjoy the food. I am sure I could have had this problem solved if there would have been a second time as the service was very friendly and helpfull. I would be glad to stay in this hotel again.

the hotel is in a convenient location near wanchai metro station. about 5-7 min walk. the interior of the hotel is decent and some of the rooms seem to have better renovation than others. but on a whole, it's good. the price is reasonable and the service standard, acceptable. one point to note is the hotel is located near the pub street in wanchai so you may encounter different 'characters', especially at night. so for families with small children, you may like to take that into consideration.
Nightlife Tip:
plenty of nightlife and pubs around the area. some decent eateries as well.. so if that's your cup of tea, then go fo it!

the rooms are typically small as you would expect in hk but clean and functional. the location is excellent in the heart of hk island. whilst breakfast was nothing special the dim sum restaurant in the hotel is exceptional. service is good and staff helpful.
