it is only a 5 minute walk from the mtr, so the hotel is pretty convenient. if nightlife and bars are your thing, then this hotel is good bang for your buck. comfortable room and clean.

excellent location, only a few mins walk from wanchai mtr. clean room but it was a tad small tho.
the lifts were small too. have to pay for internet. porters were a tad nonchalant. not very helpful with luggage despite that still an excellent place to stay for tourists who dont wanna pay heaps for accomodation. excellent selection of restaurants nearby,

I come to Hong Kong 4-5 times per year and always search Agoda...I have stayed before at the Wharney before and as always they were as good as every time I stay with them. Easy check in, they will store your bags for $5 Hong Kong dollars per day, which works good for me as I have to go to China for a day or two. The Location is awesome....located in the heart of Wan Chai.
Nightlife Tip:
For nightlife... start at The Vic or Old China Hand and make your way to Amazonia or Escape for a great middle and end of your night especially if you are looking for that someone special.

The hotel is in a busy nightlife street. I had heard that there might be some repair work going on. During my stay I did not notice any disturbance and was quite happy with my room which was quite and peaceful. The internet connection worked well. I would have liked to have more channels on the TV and a larger selection of movies. I had once breakfast in the room and found that a bigger table was needed. I am sure I could have had this problem solved if there would have been a second time as the service was very friendly and helpful. I would be glad to stay in this hotel again.
Nightlife Tip:
Be prepared to listen to music late into the night!

the hotel is convenient for a hong kong island stay, close to the mtr subway, restaurants and ferry to kowloon. bars and traffic in the locality make lower level rooms noisy. the rooms are clean and comfortable although the double rooms (2 single beds) are a bit small.

This appears to be a popular hotel, especially for mainland Chinese tour groups. The hotel is located right in the heart of one of Hong Kong's most well-known nightlife districts, which puts it just a few seconds walk away from a huge range of food and drink options. Unfortunately, it also means that rooms at the front of the hotel can be noisy.
The hotel rooms themselves are well-maintained and comfortable. The front-desk staff seem well-organised and both check-in and check out was handled very efficiently.
The rooms have internet access available, but it is a bit pricey. If your room overlooks the street, check first to see if you can connect to any of the many free Wi-Fi signals from the various establishments nearby before you subscribe.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If you're heading to the airport after you check-out, an easy way to get there is to take a Citybus Cityflyer Route A11 bus. The bus-stop is located in front of Dah Sing Financial Centre, which is the building right behind the hotel itself.

i had developed a very nice daily routine. fruit breakfast in the room (there is a wellcome store just across the road), an hour in the gym on second floor of annex, work in room, lunch outside at such a wide choice of bars, cafes and restaurants, work in afternoon, evening at leisure with reading/tv/movies/a drink or two (or three). the swimming pool was closed,
Restaurant Tip:
The Canny Man Scottish pub is in the basement of the hotel and serves delicious haggis. What a treat to have haggis for dinner, with some interesting variations such as mini haggis burgers, haggis spring rolls etc.

it was a nice hotel, neat and clean, very good location and near wanchai mtr. its just that, we had no ammenities in the toilet so we had to buy our own soap and shampoo. no cotton pads and buds.
but overall it was an ok hotel for the price.
Restaurant Tip:
opposite the hotel is hay hay kitchen, they have good food there.. try char siew and suckling pig!
