Standards Slipping Slightly
Location, location, location!

I've been staying here for at least 5 years, mainly due to the location. Overall, it was okay although a few things made it less enjoyable than previous stays - I was given a smoking floor which I don't think ever happened before, we had two single beds and were told quite abruptly there were no doubles available. But I still love the location with lots of cheap eats on the doorstep, walking distance to shopping heaven Causeway Bay and just 10 minutes to the aiport express terminal by taxi.

The Wharney Guang Dong Hotel is where I usually stay when I am Hong Kong. It's location is fantastic. The MTR is about a 4 minute walk away and the bars and restaurants of Wan Chai surround the hotel. Everything you need is nearby. The staff is always friendly and check-in/out is always quick and easy. The rooms are a little on the small side, but they are comfortable. With the combination of the Airport Express train and a short taxi ride from Hong Kong Central, the hotel is not far and easily accessible. When the price is less than $150, you can't beat this hotel!

There is nothing much to say we enjoy stay in Wharney Guang Dong and this is not my first time stay I have been staying in the hotel several times already since year 2010 in and out of Hong Kong this is my 4th Stay.

very nice, greaat area and plenty to do there, bar downstairs although not part of hotel but attached comfortable and nice, negatives, no one seemd to point out to us anything to do around the area, we had to hunt for ourselves..

On the whole - it is a good hotel. Reception is not especially welcoming though and they wouldn't give me the password to use Wi-Fi prior to check-in, which caused me inconvenience since I came on business. Another thing is that they have rather troublesome room cleaning system which means that they would come to your room and ask when is it convenient for you to have it cleaned more than once a day, leaving messages on the phone secretary and also supervisors coming to say hi and ask if everything's ok after room's being cleaned. But guests are on vacation/business trip, either way they want privacy and to rest themselves, that's why they are called guests.
Breakfast is good, but could be more diverse. Otherwise WiFi is really free and fast.

Nice stay

The stay was value for money. The breakfast was nice if you stay overnight. But for us who stayed for 4 days it was repetitive. The hotel is accessible by the airport express shuttle who will take you right at the front of the hotel. There is an MTR closeby. A restaurant and a convenience store across. There are a lot of bars near the area.

It was pretty good. The hotel is located in a red light district though, there are many bars and clubs around with things going on. Try to get a higher floor room to escape the noise. In general, if you only use the hotel for sleeping at night and spend most of your day outside, it is a great choice with a very convenient location for both transport and food.
