Wharney gong HK
Friendly staff, clean room what i expected.
8
Having read some reviews saying the hotel was noisey and the rooms were small i have to say i was pleasently surprized. The staff were friendly and accomadating, the room was located close to my family even though i arrived several days later. The room was clean with all my requirements tea and coffee making facilities not always found in some hotels.
The area can be noisey, but did not cause any disterbance. Overall a lovely stay.
Nightlife Tip:
Close to nightlife good acess to MTR

Sevens weekend
The party contnues right outside the hotel along LOckhart Road
9.3
The hotel itself was a great escape for the Seven Rugby tournament and the parties that break out at all the bars along Lockhart road. If you want to party hard, have a great sleep and start all over again, then this is the place to stay.

Awful hotel!
It is situated in Wanchai and it's the best area for nightlife.

If you don't want to have the same experience as me never go to this hotel. Just behind you have the metro park hotel (same grade). You could go there!

Stay in Wanchai
convenient central location
walking distance to MTR
You could walk to Times Square
6.7
I have stayed at many hotels in HK and this hotel provides value for money. It is not 5 star but then you are not paying 5 star rates. A lot of the hotels self rate and I am not sure what they benchmark against. The hotel would be the equivalent of 3.5 stars internationally. The reception is impressive but the rooms don't quite match this but that is so typical of HK hotels. The rooms are clean but in the small to medium size range. The service is acceptable without being overly impressive. I was waiting for a DHL parcel and after checking several times and it had not turned up...wneh it did they did not tell me.

Great otel on Hongkong Island
8
a very nice Hotel on Hongkong island, away from the main tourist groups usually staying in Kowloon. Majority of Hotel guests are mainland chinese. You step out of the Hotel and you are in the midst of Wanchai nightlife, close to MTR, tram, Restaurants, Star Ferry. Use of Gym is free of charge and well equipped, good for a workout. Central is just 2 stations on MTR away, also Central Bus station and Airport express.

Wharney - Not luxurious, but acceptable
location, proximity to MTR, proximity to bars,
7
The room is a good size for one person and certainly ok for 2 people who don't plan to be in the room all the time. Closet space is nice for HK and there is plenty of room lighting. The bed is hard, but is common for HK, and was actually ok to sleep on. The body wash dispenser in the tub was ridiculous as you could not get anymore than a tiny drop each pump...even after I asked for it to be checked and refilled....I eventually just started using the soap bar that was provided for hand washing. The towels also had this smeell which made me revolt...probably the detergent used to wash them or something. Room was cleaned everyday and I was able to get a power converter upon request from the front desk. I would stay there again cause it is budget friendly and location friendly. Nothing drastically good to say, and nothing drastically bad to say.
Nightlife Tip:
Lots of great english/american style pubs right down the street and around the corner... Depends on your wants.

Another stay in Wharney
location, size of the room
8
Already stayed in this hotel and wanted to know what is the difference between standard and executive rooms. Have to say they differed just in providing complimentary water. The size of the rooms is the same even the standard met our inquiry of separate beds which executive could not offer. I like this hotel and finally found the one I would stay in each time visiting Hong Kong. The location is just perfect for couples or friends who want to enjoy the nightlife also.

Satisfactory
Good location, room is clean
8
Very good location - less than 5mins walk from MTR station. Hotel service is average and corridor is not bright however room is clean and not too small.
No complimentary drinking water from hotel and there is no information that states we need to pay - it will be good if they can inform to hotel guest.

Good Place to Start Knowing Hong Kong nightlife
1. It is near the MTR station (Wanchai)
2. A lot of eatries nearby
5.7
It has been 4 years since I was last in Hong Kong. The last hotel I stayed was small but clean. My booking was to have 1 queensize bed and 1 single bed, instead I was given 3 singles bed. They cleaned the room late, I meet with the cleaner at about 3.30pm in my room when she just started doing her job.
Apart from that the hotel is very near the MTR (Wanchai)station. It was also near the Hong Kong Airport station (HKD 20, one way).
Overall, if you want to know Hong Kong night life, start here.
Nightlife Tip:
A lot of BAR nearby. I once saw a man lying on his back drunk in the middle of the street, and it was only 11 pm at night.

The Wharney Guang Dong Hotel
9.7
The hotel is convenience located, when you travel by bus and MTR. The room is clean, although it is small and bed is hard (by Hong Kong stardard).
